With California's "Shelter in Place" still in effect and in an effort to adhere to the social distancing practices, we decided to try recording the next few shows via Skype. After finally working out the bugs, bumping up internet speeds and multiple tries we finally got it all worked out....kind of. This definitely was different as we actually like being around each other but you do what you gotta to make the magic happen! We scoured local shops for the best of what we could find and we are pretty sure we pulled out a great little selection!! So strap in and bear with us...it's going to be a trip!! As our "Teas Flood" series comes to an end (3 shows, 3 hours, 12 INTERESTING craft beers) we started the night on a bit of a sour note....and ended with a sweet one. This episode is filled with sours and sweets of all kinds and we even tried our first mead of the show. It was a mouth puckering experience to say the least. Seeing as how everyone is kind of on lockdown right now (this coming out during the midst of California's "Shelter in Place" order due to the Covid-19 virus) we decided to just keep with the normalcy and release the 2nd half of our hard cider double header we did when we recorded our Newtopia episode. We definitely had some great ones this episode as well some not so great and once again "Rudy's FINDS FROM THE 99" reared its wonderfully ugly head to have some fun. So thanks to our buds Nino & Sam over at Parkway Liquor, we got hooked up with a four pack of some ciders from San Diego's own NEWTOPIA CYDER. So seeing as how our Sam has been asking for a cider show for quite a while we decided what better way to do it than to try the four selections and do what we do best. ENJOY!!!

So Rudy went to Nashville and brought home a large selection of locally crafted beers. Do they do the Music City justice or does Smashville need to hang it up?
If you guys thought the 4Loko episode was nuts just wait till you listen to this one!!! Its a tad long so strap in for another ridiculous ride on the WD2T PARTY BUS!!!!
So because last episode was such a success....and we recorded 2 epsiodes that evening we bring to you the 2nd part of "Getting Fanct with Christian". So this is one of the shows we recorded a while back when we were just starting out. Justin brought on his neighbor Christian (last name left off because he was afraid the fame would make his daily life unbearable) who used to be in "The Biz" to tell us about a different style of beer than we have had before...Trappist and Abbey style Ales. This was technically our first interview and it was such a pleasure having someone on that had such a great knowledge and love for the craft. We also decided to go down the rabbit hole with Rudy's "Finds From the 99" where Rudy brings out something from the 99 Cent store and they see how it stacks up....here's a spoiler....IT DOES NOT!!! Beers in this episode: Brasserie Dupont Avec Les Bons Voeux Saison 9.5% ABV. UNIBROUE LA FIN DU MONDE Belgian Tripel 9.0% ABV Grande Réserve (Blue) Bières de Chimay Belgian Strong Dark "Trappist" Ale 9.0% ABV Beerlao Lager Lao Brewery Co. Japanese Rice Lager 5.0% ABV
So from time to time WD2T likes to party....and other times we like to get wrecked!! THIS IS ONE OF THOSE TIMES!!! We found "Party Faves" and did our best to make it through the end of this episode. It was harder than you think. So sit back, take a listen and come party with us! Beers in this Episode: 4LOKO Sour Apple 14.0 ABV Mike's Harder Cranberry 8.0 ABV "Hell or High Watermelon" by 21st Amendment Brewing 4.9 ABV "Here Comes Mango IPA" by Belching Beaver 6.3 ABV "Diablo" Michelada by Tecate 4.5 ABV
So remember a few episodes back when Justin "set up" our interview with the Ballast Point Home Brew Mart? Well this was from earlier in the day when we spoke to Co-Founder Gerald Dollente of Latchkey Brewery (Located at 1795 Hancock St. San Diego, CA 92110). We only had him for a short while but he was awesome. After we spoke with him we tried a quick flight and as always gave our opinions about it. It gets a little crazy in the end...someone called the cops...but we made it out unscathed lol. What can we say? Live recordings are interesting!! Beers in this Episode: "The Regal" Lager 6.0 ABV "San Diego 1915" (aka the CONFUSER) unfiltered lager 4.6 ABV IBU 22 "May the Juice Be With You" Hazy Double IPA 8.0 ABV 45 IBU "The Monkey's Uncle" Belgian (we mistakenly said Trappist) Triple 9.0 ABV 40 IBU "The Dopple Decker" Dopplebock 7.2 ABV 35 IBU
For our 4th ever home show we decided to go cheap and find the best (hopefully) beers for under $5 from our local liquor store the AMAZING Fletcher Hills Bottle Shop in El Cajon, CA. It was originally going to be a 5 under $5 but something caught our eye at the last minute which is why this episode runs a tad longer than most. Beers in this episode: "Mulligan" from Second Chance Brewery 5.6% ABV "Kilt Lifter" Scottish Ale from 4 Peaks Brewing Company 6.0% ABV "Banana Bread" by Wells 5.2% ABV "Orxata" by The Bruery 7.2% ABV Guiness EXTRA Stout 5.6 ABV "Gatling Gun" by BNS Brewery 9.0 ABV
When we sat down to interview the guys over at Papa Marce's Cerveceria we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. We had so much fun that we just had to break this into 2 shows to do it justice. We dug a little deeper into the inner workings of this cerveceria and drank quite a bit more of their devilishly delicious libations. We hope you're ready for more laughs and filthy jokes cause BOY OH BOY are you in for it now!!! Beers in Flight 2: "Juice Abuse" Pale Ale 5.9% ABV "A STOUT Observation" 7.0% ABV "Road to Red and Back 2.0" Kettle Sour 6.2% ABV "She's A Jam Eater" a.k.a. "The BEAST" 8 month barrel aged Imperial Red Sour 10.4%ABV
Justin and Rudy made the drive to Carlsbad, California (a long haul of roughly 30 minutes) to sit with Mark Amador and Dan Converse, the Founders of Papa Marce's Cervezeria. PMC is a small brewery with a huge heart that serves gigantic flavors in every beer. They specialize in barrel aged sours, lagers, and ales but they do sneak in a porter that will blow your mind. We laughed from beginning to end of this interview which along with the 2 different flights of amazing beer made this episode a long one so we broke it up into 2 parts! This was an absolute blast but just wait till part 2... Part 1 Flight "Papa Shaka" Mexican Lager 5.0 ABV "Tequilla Makes my Gose Fall Off" Barrel Aged 7 months 7.7 ABV "Palomas Santa Fe" 7.7 ABV "Salto de Cafe" 5.4 ABV
So with a shot in the dark and ZERO planning Justin took the reigns and we went to Ballast Point's Home Brew Mart for a flight of some deliciously interesting beers, sweet jams (that we own 0% of the rights to so please don't sue LoL) and a surprise interview with big man on campus Mr. Matt Davis. He schooled us with a quick lesson on what they do there as well as giving us the ins and outs of the beers we chose for the flight. We had an awesome time and can't thank Matt enough for taking the time out to sit with us. If you are ever in the area make sure you stop by you won't be disappointed! THE FLIGHT: Piper Down 5.8% ABV Sour Wench 7.0% ABV 20 IBU Indra Kunindra 7.0% ABV Habanero Sculpin 7.0% ABV
This is the long awaited part 2 of our first doulbe episode. We got a smidge more toasty than we normally get but boy oh boy did we have fun!! Our producer Sam tried her best to wrangle us in but nothing could be done to stop us! She did however contribute to the madness by bringing something for us to try for our Mystery Beer segment! Beers in this Episode: Garage Brewing's "The Tow Truck" "Mississippi Mud" Mother Earth Brewing Company's "Call me Ginger" Belching Beaver's "Mexican Chocolate Peanut Butter Stout" Mystery Beer: Founders Brewing KBS Kentucky Breakfast Stout
So OMBAC's 3rd annual OTL/BEERFEST went off without a hitch!! Over 100 3 men/women teams playing with their bats and balls at the beach for the chance to be number 1! We got invited to come check out the festivities and partake in the beerfest featuring 20 of San Diego's finest breweries. We saw old friends and made some new ones and had a blast. Join us as we TRY to remember all the fun we had! BOTTOMS UP!!! *EDITOR'S NOTE* So around minute 15 we were speculating on the compensation of the brewers for this event. We were quite a bit off. After speaking with Tom Doyle (OMBAC's VP) he informed us of the following.. OMBAC buys 1 keg and the brewers donate the 2nd. They looking to be able to purchase both kegs by year 5 (so in the next 2 years). The brewers don't pay anything to be a part of the beerfest. We apologize for not getting all the info but we just wanted to make sure we cleared this up for everyone!
So a few months ago we interviewed the guys over at 3 Punks Ale but we also sat down that same day with brewery owner Tim Parker and Head Brewer James Hodges of the Chula Vista Brewery!! We talked to the two Military Vets about their love of all things beer and how they are keeping things fun and exciting in the beer scene! We had an awesome time and definately enjoyed the selections we were offered. If you are ever in South SD make sure to stop by 294 3rd Ave, Chula Vista, CA 91910.... it's a "Beautiful View" you won't want to miss!!
We sat down with the Old Mission Beach Athletic Club's (OMBAC) VP Tom Doyle and Jay Jones of Thorn Brewing in the upstairs brew area (hence some of the background noises of the tanks) of Thorn Brewing in San Diego's trendy North Park location. We got a quick history lesson about OMBAC and why OTL (Over the Line) is so near and dear to them! We had an absolute blast with these guys and cant wait to cover the actual event on May 18-19th in Mariner's Point in Mission Beach. * Tickets are still available online at http://www.ombac.org/beerfestotl/ * USE OUR CODE "WD2T" AT CHECKOUT FOR $10 OFF!! SEE YOU THERE!!!
Join us as we cover everything that was the 2019 Sabroso Craft Beer, Taco & Music Festival sponsored by the good people at Gringo Bandito. A 2 day event in Dana Point, California with Lucha Libre events with an amazing special guest, lots of tacos, eating contests, HUGE music lineups and let's not forget the beer....that is the reason we were there. With over 150 different (not all necessarily good) craft beers, there was definitely something for everyone!!
This episode is technically the 2nd actual episode (recorded back in August), we recorded it during a VERY hot evening, hence the fan in the background. It was the first of a double episode recorded that night. We were still getting into our groove but having a blast! We had a bit more variety this episode with porters, fruity sours, stouts and even a rare barrel aged cider!! Here we go BOTTOMS UP!! Beers in this episode... Ballast Point "Mocha Marlin" Coffee Chocolate Stout UFO Blueberry Lemonade "Berry Limited" sour Modern Times Coffee Roasty Stout SBW Cidery Organic Apple Honey Wine aged in whiskey barrell for 6 months

Welcome to episode one of the show about 2 blue collar dudes giving "BREW"tally honest reviews on everything from stouts to "lawnmower" beers and even the dreaded IPA (can you tell how excited we are). Beers in this Episode: (NOT IN ANY KIND OF ORDER) Belching Beaver's Peanut Butter Milk Stout Mother Earth Brew Co.'s "Sin Tax" Imperial Peanut Butter Stout Port Brew Co.'s "Board Meeting" Coffee Brown Ale Samuel Smith's Organic Chocolate Stout New Belgium's "Voodoo Ranger IPA" COLDCOCK whiskey *since we forgot to give our email on the show here's how you can reach out to us for suggestions...
