Today, Jaime has since updated his BBQ equipment as well as offering creative takes and tried-and-true staples for Big Papa Jai's BBQ.Speaking of staples, the owner behind one of Philadelphia's favorite ice cream shops joined us on the show. Cristina Torres, who acquired Weckerly's Ice Cream about a year ago, gave us the scoop behind what inspired her to go from a corporate job to owning the beloved ice cream shop based out of Philadelphia's Fishtown area. Weckerly's is known to have some of the best ice cream around, and we found out why. So if you're curious to hear what makes Weckerly's such a big hit, as well as finding out the exciting new flavors & opportunities in-store for this fall, then stay tuned to Food Farms And Chefs Radio Show to find out! Fearless Restaurant Group's White Dog Cafe and their other brands are loved by both locals and visitors to the Philadelphia dining scene, so it's exciting news to share that they're opening a new restaurant for everyone to enjoy. In this all-new episode of the Two Shots Podcast, we will be joined by two guests, John Dyer, and the infamous Spursnandez. Little known fact that Richard AKA "Spurnandez" and John Dyer grew up together in the same neighborhood, Marbach, which used to be part of the city limits back in the day. We will talk about how things have changed and how there is a lot of love for the San Antonio Spurs in the area. We will also discuss the bootleg t-shirts that were often seen up and down the roads like Marbach and Military Drive, referencing popular designs like the Selena and Big Papa ones. In closing, we will also discuss how the city has many different pockets of culture in it and that this is what makes San Antonio so great. The conversation revolves around the camaraderie felt between Spurs fans in San Antonio, regardless of where they live. They mention how the city celebrated the Spurs championships and there was no violence just a mutual love and admiration for the Spurs. Lastly, they reflect on the good times and how it was a once proud dynasty. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/twoshotspodcast/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/twoshotspodcast/support

EP 22- UNQC- Big Papa's BBQ SCA Comp Team in Arkansas and UNQC Update First, a quick update about The Up North QueCast, what we have going on coming up this spring and we will be at the MN in May on June 14th recording an episode so stop in and say hi! This interview gives us a great perspective into what it takes to be a winner in the SCA. We talk with a friend, Frank Davis from Big Papa's BBQ. He has been involved in the Food Service industry for much of his life. He was a restaurant manager, Food Service Director for the Georgia Department of Corrections and Juvenile Justice, and he owned his own restaurant. He first tried competition BBQ cooking when he was still living in Georgia and instantly enjoyed it. Frank and his family moved to Arkansas several years ago and he put his competition cooking on hold, but always longed to cook competitively again. One day about a year and a half ago a Facebook friend of his named Matthew VanVoltenberg suggested he should go check out the SCA Facebook page and the rest as they say is history. Frank has been competing as Big Papa's BBQ in the SCA since September 2020, winning several contests and placing in the top 10 on multiple occasions. Big Papa's BBQ competed in the World Finals in Ft Worth, TX in March and finished 25th overall in the World. He has already qualified for next year's World's Finals. Wow what a cool story! This is a big episode! In fact, my guest in today's episode is affectionately known as “Big Papa”. That's right – I finally made a connection with Bryan Post and I couldn't be more stoked to bring his message to my audience. Bryan is a child behavior expert and founder of the Post Institute for Family-Centered Therapy. The Post Institute works with adults, children, and families struggling with early life trauma and the impact on the development of the mind/body system. A renowned clinician, lecturer, and author, Bryan has traveled throughout the world providing expert treatment and consultation. While we discuss topics we have covered many times before, such as why the connection is more important than correction, how we need to be regulated before we can expect our kids to be, and how trauma and attachment express themselves, In this episode, you are going to likely learn some new and different ways to look at your kids and your caregiving experience. It was cool to finally connect with Bryan. I love hearing different stories, and finding out how we are the same and different. In fact, in this episode, we collaborate and move from looking at prenatal alcohol exposure as a triple to a quadruple “threat.” No matter the approach or path, we ultimately have the same desire and goal: to help you – the caregiver - achieve more success so you can have better days and relationships with your kids. Be sure to check out the Show Notes to find a link to our Blog where you can find links to more information on this episode and The Post Institute. In 2021, Kyle and Dan are typical mid-life crisis aged men looking for a career change. In Tucson, Dan is bullied by his supervisor, who claims trading is the same as gambling. Big Papa unveils a time tested futures trading course, powered by sheer charisma and (and plutonium he imports from Libyan terrorists). Big Papa sets the guys loose on his trading program, in exchange for a flimsy promise to hang out some time. Unfortunately, those same terrorists find Big Papa just as he starts up the training program is unceremoniously gunned down. This leaves the guys with no choice but to finish the courses and save George by mastering the future(s)!Ok, for real... Neither of us did much trading over the month of August as we were both focusing on learning how to trade futures. As George is the futures king of kings, he came back to talk to us about our progress and answer our questions. He also was bound by law of The Bet to settle up.
