Personally its one of the most iconic Pizza Port Brewing beers, it was a malty introduction to the flavorful world of San Diego Beers. Now, you don't have have to pop into one of the pubs to grab a pint as it's now in cans, Bacon and Eggs Imperial Stout! Honestly with the tweaking the team has been doing, this could be the best year EVER to try this beer.
Playing with hops is what Pizza Port does, so when they get the freedom to play with hops they go all out with their seasonal beers. Vibrant Views is one of their latest seasonals brewed by a notorious San Diego brewer (who will remain unnamed here) that as crafted an absolute masterpiece IPA perfect for an SD Fall.

It's was the second beer that Pizza Port brewed back in 1992, Swami's IPA now isn't the same as it was then but it's still carries the same spirit. Lean about it's inspiration and how its changed from Director of Brewery Operations Sean.

It's Fresh Hop/Wet Hop Season! As local breweries are getting same day deliveries of harvest hops it's a wonderful time to be a hop-head! Offering more depth and complexity then just floral bitterness, these beers offer a more raw taste then pelletized hops. Slamarak Cold IPA is one of the first of the season to drop and it's named after a North County wave contest where they try and jam as many people as they can on one wave.
It's been a long time since the brewers from Pizza Port dropped in for a beer! This week we dig into what the San Diego brewing institution that is Pizza Port Brewing has been up to starting with a collaboration beer with our friends from Alpine, McIlhenny Brewing and a crushable, tropical and flora New Zealand Pilsner called Sunrise Valley.
Lets not trip on our words... summer is NOT over! Brian and Sarah enjoyed a Honey Blonde Ale up from San Diego! What did they think? Listen along while you drink your own tasty treat!

G'day, North County San Diego! In this episode, we get into what happened in the 4th quarter of the Superbowl (really, we didn't see it). "It was on my last shift cleaning bathrooms at the Pizza Port, just before I told the manager I was quitting, when I found the wallet in one of the stalls... The picture on the license was exotic. He wore a turban, had thick tortoiseshell eyeglasses, and sported a flat gold chain with an amulet. Some kind of Arab sheik with Mafia ties?" A hapless ex-real estate agent stumbles into an adventure that might be life-changing... if it's not life-ending. An excerpt from a new collection of novellas and stories.
Hello San Diego Friends! In this episode, we go over some Expensive Meat, LCYO ball (and little league home runs), & The Miramar Airshow. There are some new brews coming from Mother Earth and Pizza Port. And how did we end up #8 on this wildly inaccurate list of TOP Taco Cities? Enjoy!

Time for the podcast. Alright so on today's show, we sped through the god dang thing it felt like. Tony was drinking hoppy wheat beer, I was drinking hazy Pizza Port. It's crazy! Griff finally picks an AFL team and it's the worst one (typical) and all of his other teams suck really bad too! In the Discord segment there was some big nasty foot fetish talk so if you're a big Tarantino guy we got you covered! We also did the happiest HBNDSN of all time where everything was just kind of cool??? Finally there was game that left both guys totally confused as to what was going on at all times. It was a disaster but in the like, cool, funny, disaffected way. Alright enjoy I'll see ya later!!! Matt Cross Tap Takeover Episode Matt and I appreciate Jacque and Ryan Fields of Wild Fields Brewhouse because while they make and sell IPAs, they also make and sell so much more than that. Jacque and Ryan brought several beers over for us to taste, and Matt and I enjoyed every one of them. The Pine Mountain Monolith Brown Ale was my favorite — almost all of their beers are named after spots on the Central Coast. We discussed Jacque and Ryan's strong lineage in the beer industry, with Beachwood, Lost Abbey and Pizza Port among the breweries they've worked for. We also talked about how to start liking sour ales, Atascamazing, bottles versus cans, and the Fields's RV named Honey Buns.
Brewers tend to get excited when Jeff Bagby is around. As one of the most awarded brewers in the country and a staunch voice for classic styles and well balanced beers, he extolls pleasures of creating lagers and ales that lend to a good time. After a career that saw him on the brew decks of noted breweries like Stone and Pizza Port, where he was the director of brewing operations, he and his wife opened up Bagby Beer Co. in 2014 in a 8,500 square foot location that is not only home to the brewery but a restaurant, with plenty of areas suited for both meals and long evenings tucked into pints. In an interview years ago said that when the brewery opened it didn't even have an IPA on tap, focusing instead on lagers and other ales. Hoppy beers have come into the mix, but he's still focused on session beers, drinkability, and keeping traditions alive. As he explains on this episode the pandemic has been brutal to the business. There's no sugar coating it. From government restrictions and unfulfilled promises, to customer interactions, staffing shortages, rising costs of labor and goods, and the day-to-day worry that comes from owning a small business, he's been knocked around. A lot. Bagby walks us through it all and doesn't hold back. Welcome back to the Happy Half Hour! We're recording in person at Home Brew Mart by Ballast Point in Linda Vista, our sponsor for this week's episode. Ballast Point is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and Home Brew Mart is where the company began. We're with Colby Chandler, Ballast Point's former vice president and speciality brewer. He's the creator of the award-winning Sculpin IPA and the company's second-longest-serving employee! This week's special guest is Will Dryden, manager of operations for Baja Jerky. This new beef jerky company is headquartered in San Diego, with recipes created by Michelin-starred chef Brandon Rogers (Benu in San Francisco). Will fell in love with the cuisine in Cabo when he lived there, so the line has six Baja-inspired flavors of jerky like street taco, serrano lime, and even churro. He talks about how Baja Jerky stands out compared to national brands, the challenges in getting national distribution, some details of the high-quality beef they're sourcing, and where you can buy some. In Hot Plates, Pizza Port is opening a new location in Imperial Beach. Silverlake Ramen announced that it's expanding from LA to San Diego. An alcoholic herbal tea is being brewed at Kové Hard Yerba Mate's tasting room in Barrio Logan. The Small Business Horsepower Podcast www.smallbusinesshorsepower.com
In March of 1987 Gina and Vince Marsaglia, a pair of siblings in their 20′s, bought a struggling pizza place in the coastal town of Solana Beach, just north of San Diego. Early on, Vince took advantage of free space in the restaurant's storage area to dabble with home brewing. The hobby took off and at the urging of friends and fans, Vince and Gina decided to go into the brewpub business. Pizza Port offered its first craft-brewed beers to patrons in 1992 and quickly gained a reputation in San Diego's growing craft beer scene.

In this episode, we're cracking open Hotel Zebra by Brouwerij West and Pizza Port Brewing - an 8.2% West Coast Double IPA that is exactly what you would expect from a Pizza Port inspired beer. Bitter, dank and sticky, but with a nice tropical backbone from the bouquet of hops. Definitely a nice break from the IPAs we've been drinking lately, and LOVED the can sticker art on this one.
