Espero que bien. Aquí en Luxemburgo seguimos disfrutando de la primavera y del transporte público gratuito, incluido el tren. Te lo digo porque la noticia de hoy está relacionada con ese medio de transporte, el tren, aunque un tren especial, el tren de alta velocidad. Pero antes de entrar en la noticia, vamos a contextualizar un poco. España es uno de los países con la red de trenes de alta velocidad más extensa, más amplia de toda Europa. Estos trenes se conocen como AVE, siglas de “Alta Velocidad Española”, y forman parte del paisaje del transporte desde hace ya más de treinta años. El primer AVE en España empezó a funcionar en 1992 y unía Madrid con Sevilla. Fue un proyecto muy simbólico, porque coincidió con la Exposición Universal de Sevilla y representó una imagen de modernidad y de apuesta por las infraestructuras. Desde entonces, la red ha ido creciendo poco a poco. Hoy en día, el AVE conecta Madrid con muchas ciudades importantes del país: Barcelona, Valencia, Zaragoza, Málaga, Córdoba, Alicante o Valladolid. Por ejemplo, se puede viajar de Madrid a Barcelona en unas dos horas y media, de Madrid a Valencia en menos de dos horas o de Madrid a Málaga en alrededor de dos horas y cuarenta minutos. Esto ha cambiado por completo la forma de viajar dentro de España y ha reducido mucho el uso del avión en algunos trayectos. Por desgracia, hace unos meses, el tren de alta velocidad fue noticia por un accidente que le costó la vida a 46 personas. Ocurrió el 18 de enero, cuando el tren circulaba por la localidad de Adamuz, un pueblo de la provincia de Córdoba, en el sur de España. Un tren de alta velocidad de la compañía Iryo viajaba de Málaga a Madrid. Durante el viaje, el tren descarriló, es decir, se salió de las vías. Al descarrilar, el tren entró en la vía contraria. En ese momento, por esa vía venía otro tren que iba de Madrid a Huelva. Los dos trenes chocaron. El accidente fue muy grave. Como te decía, murieron 46 personas y más de 150 resultaron heridas. Es uno de los peores accidentes de tren en España en los últimos años. Los expertos creen que la causa del accidente fue la rotura de un raíl, una parte de la vía por donde circulan las ruedas. Pero la noticia de hoy no está relacionada con ese accidente, sino con algo completamente distinto. Y es que, durante muchos años, la alta velocidad española se ha centrado sobre todo en el transporte interior, es decir, en mover personas dentro del propio país. Sin embargo, en los últimos años ha surgido una nueva idea: conectar la red española con otros países europeos mediante trenes de alta velocidad internacionales. Ahí es donde aparece el proyecto de unir Madrid y París en AVE, un proyecto ambicioso y complejo, que no solo depende de trenes y vías, sino también de normas, acuerdos entre países y decisiones políticas. Y de eso trata la noticia que vamos a escuchar ahora mismo, que pertenece a Radio Nacional de España. Presta mucha atención. “La alta velocidad a París se para, frenazo al AVE que uniría Madrid con la capital de Francia. Hugo Domínguez, ¿qué ha pasado? Buenas tardes. Pues lo que ha pasado, buenas tardes, es que no se dan las condiciones, según fuentes de Renfe, y por tanto se aparca temporalmente la conexión de alta velocidad hasta París. Barreras regulatorias de permisos y problemas técnicos para homologar trenes frenan por el momento un proyecto que la empresa pública española llevaba años trabajando. Precisamente, hace unos meses, el Ministro de Transportes, Óscar Puente, se quejaba de falta de reciprocidad porque España sí ha abierto la puerta a la compañía francesa Ouigo y en cambio Renfe tiene dificultades para operar en un mercado dominado por SNCF, el grupo estatal francés. Me quejo de la falta de reciprocidad, porque nosotros queremos entrar en Francia, entramos en Francia y todos son dificultades, todos son trabas, ¿no? Y eso, claro, es una situación de enorme desigualdad, ¿no? Porque ellos han entrado en nuestro mercado, han entrado tirando los precios. La intención inicial de Renfe era alcanzar París en 2024, antes de los Juegos Olímpicos, con varios trenes preparados, pero ahora el proyecto se aparca hasta que se den las condiciones.” Así que, ese tren de alta velocidad entre Madrid y París tendrá que esperar. Una pena, porque estaría muy bien conectar ambas capitales de esa forma. Bueno, es posible que todavía lo veamos en el futuro. Pero de momento vamos con las palabras y expresiones que pueden resultar más complicadas. Frenar: significa reducir la velocidad, parar o impedir que algo siga avanzando, tanto de forma literal como figurada. -Los problemas técnicos han frenado el proyecto. -El gobierno intenta frenar la subida de los precios. Frenazo: Un frenazo es una parada brusca o un cambio repentino de ritmo, normalmente cuando algo iba avanzando y, de repente, se detiene. -El proyecto del AVE ha sufrido un frenazo inesperado. -La economía estaba creciendo, pero la crisis provocó un frenazo. Aparcar (un proyecto): Apartar algo temporalmente, no cancelarlo, pero dejarlo en pausa hasta que la situación cambie. -La empresa ha decidido aparcar el plan por ahora. -Vamos a aparcar este tema y lo hablamos más tarde. Barreras regulatorias: Son normas, leyes o requisitos administrativos que dificultan o impiden que una empresa actúe en otro país. -Las barreras regulatorias complican la entrada en el mercado francés. -Muchas empresas pequeñas no pueden exportar por estas barreras regulatorias. Homologar: Homologar es comprobar y aceptar oficialmente que algo cumple las normas necesarias para usarse en otro país. -Los trenes necesitan homologarse para circular en Francia. -No puede trabajar aquí hasta homologar su título. Quejarse: Decir que algo no te gusta o te parece injusto, normalmente porque causa un problema o molestia. -El ministro se queja de la falta de reciprocidad. -Los vecinos se quejan del ruido constante. Falta de reciprocidad: Situación en la que una parte permite o facilita algo, pero la otra no hace lo mismo. -España abre su mercado, pero no recibe lo mismo a cambio. -Hay falta de reciprocidad: yo cedo, pero tú no. Trabas: Pequeños obstáculos o dificultades que complican un proceso, muchas veces de forma burocrática. -Renfe encuentra muchas trabas para operar en Francia. -Poner tantas trabas desanima a los inversores. Tirar los precios: Bajar mucho los precios para atraer clientes o eliminar a la competencia. -La empresa ha entrado en el mercado tirando los precios. -Algunas aerolíneas tiran los precios para ganar pasajeros. Bien. Pues vamos con otra versión de la noticia utilizando sinónimos para que puedas ampliar tu vocabulario. El proyecto para conectar Madrid y París por tren de alta velocidad se ha quedado, de momento, en pausa. Lo que iba a ser un gran avance en las conexiones internacionales ha sufrido una paralización importante. Según ha explicado Renfe, actualmente no se cumplen los requisitos necesarios para seguir adelante, así que la empresa pública ha decidido posponer temporalmente esta línea directa con la capital francesa. Entre los principales motivos están los obstáculos legales relacionados con permisos y normativas, además de dificultades técnicas para certificar los trenes y adaptarlos a las exigencias del sistema ferroviario francés. Todos estos factores han ralentizado un proyecto en el que se llevaba trabajando desde hace años. Hace algunos meses, el ministro de Transportes, Óscar Puente, ya había mostrado su malestar por lo que considera un trato poco equilibrado entre países. Mientras España ha permitido la entrada de la compañía francesa Ouigo, Renfe encuentra muchos problemas para ofrecer sus servicios en Francia, un mercado controlado en gran parte por la empresa pública SNCF. El ministro ha criticado que, cuando España intenta operar en Francia, surgen constantemente impedimentos y complicaciones, lo que genera una situación desigual. España destaca sobre todo por la extensión de su red. Es uno de los países con más kilómetros de alta velocidad, solo por detrás de China, y muchas de sus principales ciudades están bien conectadas por tren. Sin embargo, buena parte de esta red se ha desarrollado pensando en los desplazamientos dentro del país. En Francia, por ejemplo, la alta velocidad también lleva muchos años funcionando. El TGV conecta París con ciudades como Lyon, Marsella o Burdeos, y además Francia ha apostado más claramente por las conexiones internacionales, sobre todo con países vecinos como Bélgica, Alemania o Suiza. Alemania tiene una red diferente. Allí los trenes de alta velocidad conviven con trenes más lentos, y no todas las líneas están pensadas exclusivamente para ir muy rápido. Aun así, el sistema ferroviario alemán está muy integrado con el resto de Europa, lo que facilita los trayectos internacionales. Italia es otro caso interesante. En los últimos años ha desarrollado una red de alta velocidad muy eficaz, especialmente entre ciudades como Milán, Roma, Florencia o Nápoles, y además ha apostado por la competencia entre empresas, lo que ha reducido precios y aumentado la oferta. Todo esto muestra que, aunque España tiene una red muy moderna y extensa, conectarla con otros países no es tan sencillo. Cada país tiene sus propias normas, sus intereses económicos y sus empresas públicas o privadas, y eso complica la cooperación. Por eso, el proyecto del AVE entre Madrid y París no es solo una cuestión de trenes: es también un buen ejemplo de los límites de la integración europea cuando hablamos de infraestructuras estratégicas. Vamos a centrarnos en las preguntas más habituales cuando se viaja en tren en España. No vamos a hablar de gramática complicada ni de teoría, sino de situaciones reales: estar en una estación, subir al tren, hablar con el personal o preguntar a otros pasajeros. Si alguna vez has viajado en tren por España, o piensas hacerlo, este episodio te va a resultar especialmente útil. PREGUNTAS EN LA ESTACIÓN: HORARIOS Y DESTINOS Empezamos por la estación. Llegas, hay mucha gente, pantallas, trenes… y tienes dudas. Preguntas muy frecuentes: Perdón, ¿a qué hora sale el próximo tren a Valencia? Disculpa, ¿hay algún tren antes de las seis? ¿Este tren va a Barcelona? ¿Este es el AVE a Sevilla? En España es muy habitual empezar con “perdón” o “disculpa”. No es una disculpa real, es simplemente una forma educada de empezar una pregunta. Más ejemplos: Perdone, ¿este tren es directo? Disculpe, ¿para en Zaragoza? PREGUNTAS SOBRE LA VÍA Y EL ANDÉN Otra situación muy típica: sabes a dónde vas, pero no sabes desde dónde sale el tren. Preguntas comunes: ¿Desde qué vía sale el tren? ¿La vía cuatro es esta? ¿Dónde está el andén siete? ¿Es aquí para el tren de Málaga? En España se usa mucho la palabra “vía”. En otros países se dice “plataforma”, pero aquí lo normal es “vía”. PREGUNTAS SOBRE LA COMPRA DEL BILLETE Seguimos ahora con una parte muy importante del viaje: la compra del billete. En España, el billete se puede comprar en taquilla, en máquinas automáticas o por internet, pero las preguntas que se hacen suelen ser muy parecidas en todos los casos. Lo primero que te van a preguntar normalmente es la fecha. Por ejemplo: “¿Para hoy o para otro día?” Y tú puedes responder: “Para hoy” o “Para mañana, por la mañana”. Después, es muy habitual que te pregunten por el horario. Preguntas típicas son: “¿A qué hora quiere salir?” o “¿Por la mañana o por la tarde?” Y aquí puedes responder de forma aproximada, por ejemplo: “Sobre las cinco” o “Lo más pronto posible”. Otro tema fundamental es el tipo de billete. Es frecuente oír preguntas como: “¿Billete básico o flexible?” El billete flexible es más caro, pero permite cambios. El básico suele ser más barato, pero no permite modificar la fecha o la hora. También pueden preguntarte por la clase. Por ejemplo: “¿Clase turista o preferente?” Lo más habitual es responder simplemente: “Turista, por favor”. Si el asiento está numerado, aparece otra pregunta muy común: “¿Ventana o pasillo?” Aquí puedes decir: “Ventana, si es posible” o “Me da igual”. Antes de terminar la compra, es normal preguntar por el precio: “¿Cuánto cuesta?” o “¿Cuál es el precio del billete?” Y también por la forma de pago. Por ejemplo: “¿Puedo pagar con tarjeta?” Como ves, comprar un billete en España no requiere frases complicadas. Con preguntas cortas, claras y educadas, puedes resolver toda la situación sin problema. PREGUNTAS CUANDO SUBES AL TREN Una vez tienes el billete, aparecen nuevas dudas. Preguntas habituales: Perdona, ¿este asiento está ocupado? Disculpa, ¿mi asiento es este? ¿Soy ventana o pasillo? ¿El billete incluye comida? Comentario didáctico: En España se dice “billete”, no “ticket”, aunque todo el mundo entiende “ticket”. PREGUNTAS SOBRE RETRASOS Y TIEMPOS Otra situación muy real: el tren no sale a la hora prevista. Preguntas frecuentes: Perdón, ¿el tren va con retraso? ¿Cuánto tiempo de retraso llevamos? ¿A qué hora llegamos? ¿Falta mucho para llegar? “Vamos con retraso” es una expresión muy típica que oirás por megafonía. PREGUNTAS DENTRO DEL TREN Ya estás en el tren, pero siguen apareciendo preguntas. Preguntas muy comunes: Perdón, ¿dónde está el baño? ¿Hay cafetería en el tren? ¿Este es el coche cinco? ¿Funciona el wifi? Disculpa, ¿puedo dejar la maleta aquí? ¿Hay enchufes en este asiento? En los trenes de alta velocidad es muy normal preguntar por el wifi o los enchufes. PREGUNTAS AL PERSONAL DEL TREN Cuando tienes dudas importantes, lo más normal es preguntar al personal. Preguntas típicas: Disculpe, ¿me puede ayudar? ¿Dónde tengo que bajarme? ¿Esta parada es Córdoba? ¿Tengo que hacer transbordo? Perdón, ¿este tren para en Cuenca? ¿Me avisa cuando llegue mi parada? El trato suele ser directo, pero siempre se agradece un “por favor”. PREGUNTAS ENTRE PASAJEROS Muchas veces no preguntas al personal, sino a otros viajeros. Preguntas habituales: Perdona, ¿este tren va a Alicante? ¿Sabes si llegamos a tiempo? ¿Es aquí para Madrid? Creo que vamos juntos, ¿no? ¿Tú también bajas en Valencia? Como has visto, viajar en tren en España implica hacer muchas preguntas cortas, claras y educadas. No es necesario hablar perfecto: con estas preguntas puedes manejarte sin problemas en estaciones y trenes.
