I just noticed that I was way too close to the mic during the intro! Sorry about that guys. Anyway, this episode I am being interviewed by my very own church, Palm Valley Church. It was the first time I have ever been interviewed. I was super nervous but am SO grateful for the opportunity. Y'all, I cried. I wasn't expecting to but I did. I got REAL with you about what my life has been like the past couple of years. It's been a rough ride but my prayer is that you can relate to my doubts, struggles and questions about my faith. Hopefully, this will be an encouragement for you that even through the toughest time, there is hope. Enjoy this episode as I share my heart with you guys!
Y’all, I am just shocked at how amazing this interview went. It exceeded my expectations x1000. Demari Thompson, my friend and worship associate at Palm Valley Church, joins me today to talk about his crisis of faith and how God got him out of it. He’s so real with us on how difficult it was for him to obey God’s call, but he did it anyway. Any of you struggling with having to be financially secure? So does Demari. Yet, he obeyed Gods call and quit his stable jobs and found himself unemployed while volunteering at the church. Miraculously, God provided for him each day, each and every bill. Despite this long road of depression and uncertainty, he was plugged into his church and without his community, he doesn’t believe he would have made it through. We dive into what freedom in Jesus looks like when we run to His presence daily. Throughout this episode, Demari, is just speaking so much truth while also sharing scriptures. I don’t know anyone that knows more scripture on the top of his head like this guy does. I was shook. I Iearned so much from him and I hope y’all do too! Enjoy this episode. Teachers and future teachers! If you didn't know, I am an elementary ed major in my final year of college. I created this episode as a reflection upon one of my courses. Thankfully, my professor allowed me to create this project for our final assignment. First, as PROMISED in my last episode, I mention my first book rec. And yes, that's the name of the podcasts' new segment, "Book Recs". I review my favorite book called "L'Art de la simplicite" by Dominique Loreau. It's a book on minimalism, so if you are looking for a good book with practical tips on how to get rid of your stuff, manage your time and energy, self-care tips, and so much more, this is a book for you! The rest of the episode, I talk about how my educational philosophy has changed to now implement more technology in my classroom. Students are using it everyday, why not get with the times folks? Lets show our students how they can use technology for more than just social media and video games. Let's be better teachers for our students and create more engaging lessons that they will be more excited to participate in. I discuss how to: faciliate and inspire student learning and creativity design and develop digital age learning experiences and assessments model digital-age work and learning promote and model digital citizenship and responsibility I hope you enjoyed this episode! Don't forget to share it with your teacher friends and future teacher friends. Episode 6 is finally out, after a month of taking a break! Y’all, I am so stoked for you guys to hear mine and Caitlyn’s conversation today. Caitlyn is my bff, traveling wedding photographer, and avid risk taker. Some may say she’s a lil crazy. You will hear a lot of giggles and a whole lot of real talk this episode. We discuss what it looks like to dream, pursue your passions despite the haters and despite your degree having nothing to do with where your heart is. If you’re starting up a business or plan on it anytime soon, Caitlyn gives great advice on how to make it a successful one. We also go into topics like comparison and imposter syndrome. Are you struggling with not knowing what to do after college? Do your dreams and degree clash at times? Do you wrestle with comparison and/or imposter syndrome? If any of these apply to you, you are in the right place my friends. Join me and Caitlyn as we discuss these topics from a raw and honest perspective. Join me on today's episode as I discuss whether the gospel is enough for our lives or not. I dive into what the gospel is all about and my journey to discovering my answer to the following questions: What does having faith in Jesus mean? Do we have to do anything to win the approval of God? Are all my answers going to be found in the Bible? Is it really that simple? It all comes down to one question, what does God say about this? Calling all military wives, fiancés and girlfriends! This episode is FOR YOU. Join me and my long-time family friend, Sarah, as we explore all the questions you have and struggles you go through being in a military relationship. Sarah married her husband Jonathan after two years of dating, when she was 19 years old then immediately was off to join her husband at a base in Okinawa, Japan. Seven years later, still in the Marine Core, after moving homes many times, having gone through many trainings and deployments and even a job change, they are now living in Maryland, getting ready to start a family. Sarah gets real with me about the harsh realities of marrying someone in the military (don’t let that scare you away). She made me realize that I am not alone on this journey and even though this is harder than normal relationships, it is possible to get through with faith and community. She even answers the question we have all been asking, “does it get easier?”.We talk about how unpredictable life can get and how to come to terms with the fact that we aren’t in control. Sarah even changes my perspective on a few things! She encourages us to make plans and/or follow through with our plans even when the military keeps our husbands from participating with us. Plans don’t HAVE to be crushed; perspectives just need to be changed. We even discuss self-care. Sarah shares her battle with anxiety and how therapy has helped her with this as a married adult. The military life is hard and lonely, it is okay to seek help. You might be constantly wrestling with questions like, “why is my husband stressed all the time?”, “should I get a job?”, “how can God use me?”. I know I ask myself these questions every day. If you want to hear the answers, tune into mine and Sarah’s conversation as we answer them and so much more.

Guys, thank you for making it to episode two of the Why Not Me? podcast! A couple of days after releasing my first intro episode, it had 100 plays and 14 five-star reviews. That is INSANE. You all are so amazing for that, thank you. Today I'm diving straight into my missions’ trip to Haiti, how 2019 is the year of being a beast and doing all the things, and why you should think about going on a missions trip yourself. Food for thought: · What do you want to do that you keep putting off and continue making excuses to not do?· Are you buying too much stuff that you don’t use? How much waste are you producing?· What aspects of your life are you holding back and not giving to God? Time? Money? Worship/Praise? Relationship issues? · How can you love people better? Be specific and make it happen! Thank you for all the support. Again, message me on Instagram with any ideas you have for the podcast. Stay tuned Instagram: @jacianaariel
