Chinggay and Patty have a huge slice of humble pie this week as their former Hallmark hates become this week's big winners. While we wish Jaicy Elliot and Brant Daughtery could get a better storyline (no more stupid fables, please), we have no notes for the ultimate Zaddy himself, Brennan Elliot. Patty makes peace with Barbara Niven, while Chinggay eats her words and admits we got a Jessy Schram-tastic movie in Mystic Christmas. Surprise surprise, Chandler Massey finally gets in BMIH's good graces.Christmas By Design (Rebecca Dalton, Jonathan Keltz)Joyeux Noel (Jaicy Elliot, Brant Daugherty)Ms. Christmas Comes To Town (Erica Durance, Brennan Elliott, Barbara Niven)Mystic Christmas (Jessy Schram, Chandler Massey, Patti Murin, William R. We had the fantastic opportunity to chat with Brennan Elliott, one of Hallmark Channel's most popular actors. Brennan shared wildly entertaining stories about working on Crossword Mysteries and Flower Shop Mysteries, as well as providing candid insight into the future of Crossword Mysteries. Of course, he also recalls what it was like working alongside the Queen of Hallmark, Lacey Chabert, and international icon Brooke Shields. If you are a Brennan Elliott fan, you won't want to miss this episode. And if you aren't, you will be by the end of it!Our signature cocktail for Brennan Elliot inspired by the Crossword Mysteries is the Guzzled and Puzzled:Ingredients:2 ounces of Red Wine1 1/2 ounces Laird's straight bottled in bond apple brandy1/4 ounce grade B maple syrup1/4 ounce lemon juiceApple Slice for Garnish-ThymeDirections: Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Chinggay and Patty agree that watching the entire fall lineup of the Hallmark Channel is next to impossible, and settle for six movies instead (most of which of don't make the grade). The stunners of the season, however, are Hallmark royalty—there's not a lot that Amanda Schull, Brennan Elliot, Rachel Boston, and Paul Campbell can't do to win our hearts (and win back our trust). PS: BMIH lore is also unlocked this episode as we finally talk about the reason why we've been hating on a certain Zaddy for the last two years.Love in the Limelight (Alexa Penavega, Carlos Penavega)Game, Set, Love (Davida Williams, Richard Harmon)Marry Me in Yosemite (Cindy Busby, Tyler Harlow)Romance in Style (Jaicy Elliot, Benjamin Hollingsworth)Marry Go Round (Amanda Schull, Brennan Elliot)Dating the Delaneys (Rachel Boston, Paul Campbell)Thanks to Pietro Lazatin for our music and Paola Lazatin for our cover artFollow us on Twitter: @makeithallmark and on Instagram: @butmakeithallmark
Our third mystery movie in May-stery is Crossword Mysteries: A Puzzle to Die For, starring Lacey Chabert as Tess, a sassy crossword editor and Brennan Elliot as Logan O'Connor, a no nonsense detective. Tess realizes that clues to art heists are being hidden in her paper's crossword puzzles and has to convince Logan to help her solve the case. In this episode Corinne cannot contain her many ping pong facts, we break free from the bang chains that have been haunting us our whole lives and discuss our high tech surveillance practices which involve ear horns and tin cans with string. We may not have all the answers but we are across and down to recap Crossword Mysteries: A Puzzle to Die For.

Chinggay and Patty can't believe the network finally gave Andrew Walker an electrifyingly awesome holiday movie. And if that wasn't enough excitement for one week, Peter Gallagher has entered the HCU, proving that he is the real Hallmark Zaddy. Plus, Patty divulges our secret grudge against one unnamed leading man.A Holiday in Harlem (Olivia Washington, Will Adams, Tina Lifford)Open By Christmas (Alison Sweeney, Brennan Elliot, Erica Durance, Michael Karl Richards)My Christmas Family Tree (Aimee Teagarden, Andrew Walker, James Tupper)One December Night (Peter Gallagher, Bruce Campbell, Eloise Mumford, Brett Dalton)Thanks to Pietro Lazatin for our music and Paola Lazatin for our cover artFollow us on Twitter: @makeithallmark and on Instagram: @butmakeithallmark
In this podcast episode, Kayla and I review two of the newest releases from Hallmark Channel titled Open by Christmas starring Allison Sweeney, Brennan Elliot and Erica Durance. As well as My Family Christmas Tree starring Aimee Teagarden, Andrew Walker and James Tupper. Neither of us like Open by Christmas. We both feel that the storyline with the supporting characters was much better and should have been the lead storyline. I personally feel that Brennan and Allison were used in this movie for their "names". That's it. Their storyline was boring. My Family Christmas Tree was good. We both liked the movie. We just didn't like the DNA snafu and couldn't understand how that was solved. We both think it would have been better off if Vanessa wasn't a daughter and the family said "who cares. You're part of the family anyway." Or that the DNA snafu had never occurred in the first place. Kayla gives Open by Christmas 1.5/5 stars. I give it 2 stars. Kayla gives My Family Christmas Tree 3.5 stars. I give it 3. Podcast reviewing One December Night and A Holiday in Harlem will be out on Friday. November is National Epilepsy Awareness Month. On paper, this should be the quintessential holiday AND Hallmark movie: Mean Girls' Lacey Chabert runs out of her family's toaster strudel savings and has to move back to Idaho, where she meets sentient mashed potato and former high school classmate Danny (Hallmark mainstay Brennan Elliot), who happens to be the music teacher at her daughter's new school. Meanwhile her wacky aunt Sara (Hocus Pocus' Kathy Najimy) is valiantly casting spells and hexes to maintain the stability of a reality where Mariah Carey (Glitter, which we can't believe we didn't mention once) is the star and director of a Christmas movie where nobody sings or even hums "All I Want for Christmas Is You." It's an appropriately bizarre note to end our first season on, and our special guest Nicole Slipp (aka "Dr. Slipp") tries to help us make sense of it all.Did you watch this movie too? This movie stars Brennan Elliot & Danica McKellar. Listen to us as we discuss what a waste of time it is to tell someone in person that they didn't get the job, what it means when the "ship has sailed", and how I can't draw for shit but will make fun of those who supposedly "can".
