Come with us on a road trip!  In this episode the Crew discusses their experiences as we toured the famed Biltmore Estate here in Asheville, North Carolina and visited the King Tutankhamen exhibit on the estate grounds. George Vanderbilt, grandson of shipping entrepreneur and industrialist Cornelius “the Commodore” Vanderbilt, began purchasing land in Asheville area in 1888 ending up with 125,000 acres for what would become his country estate. Vanderbilt hired architect Richard Morris Hunt to design and build the 250-room château, the largest single family home in the United States. The house opened to guests for the first time in December of 1895. Listen as we discuss the synchronicities that accompanied us on the drive to Asheville, as well as some of the spirits and energies we experienced inside the house and on the grounds of the estate. After having been introduced to the galactic Hathor beings through Joanna the Healer, each of the crew has gone on to develop their own personal relationship with them and have been told through channeling of the beings that we all share a connection to them and to ancient Egypt. With that information it becomes obvious why we all felt it necessary for us to experience the exhibit showcasing the structure of King Tut's sarcophagus and tomb, as well as all the treasures that were found inside together.    It is now possible to book 1:1 mediumship or energy healing sessions with your favorite Ohm-g Podcast Host.Check out everyone's offers here: https://ohm-gpodcast.com/products Check out our memberships!! https://www.buymeacoffee.com/ohmgpodcastllc/membership  Check us out on Facebook @ohmgpodcast and Instagram @ohmg_podcast.  Send us an email at support@ohm-gpodcast.com to get on our mailing list for monthly virtual and live events. In this episode I explore the planning and building orchestrated by its creator, George Vanderbilt. Hope with God... with Andrew and Wendy Palau

On either coast of the United States, you can see grand monuments to financial empires. The spectacular Biltmore Estate is in North Carolina. Hearst Castle is in northern California on 127 acres of gardens. These two places were built by wealthy, powerful men. But nobody resides in them anymore. They are show places for tourists to visit. They're not really even homes. You don't need a mansion to create a home. What counts is not elaborate luxury, but the love and peace at its heart. An old saying goes, “The family that prays together stays together.” There is a lot of truth in that. If we parents love each other and our children, if we teach them about God and His love for them, if we lead them with scriptural principles, we will create a place where the family can flourish. We will have a home. This is Andrew Palau. "Direct your children onto the right path,  and when they are older, they will not leave it." We debate what the movie was aiming for between mystery and satire, wonder who the audience was intended to be, have issues figuring out if things were jokes or clues, and perhaps read too much into the actual plot. We learn the script was written in two days, and then subsequently wonder if the casting of two beloved comedy actors did a lot of the work in pumping up the humor of the film. We also feel that the Biltmore Estate lent a lot to the visuals, have issues with the casual '70s racism, think Mel Brooks was a big influence, and really like the Scooby-Doo of it all - with the epitome of a mysterious cloaked figure. Katy worried that ghosts were real, Carrie doesn't think Don Knotts is funny, Maddy has Biltmore blindness, and Mack knows who Richard Nixon is. GDP Script/ Top Stories for Dec 3rd  Publish Date:  Dec 1st  HENSSLER 15 From the Henssler Financial Studio Welcome to the Gwinnett Daily Post Podcast. Today is Sunday, December 3rd and Happy heavenly Birthday to musician Andy Williams. ***12.03.23 - BIRTHDAY - ANDY WILLIAMS*** I'm Bruce Jenkins and here are your top stories presented by Peggy Slappy Properties. Over a third of young adults had anxiety or depression during pandemic Study says vegan diet can help rapidly improve heart health Mark Stoops says Kentucky fought the wrong battle in the SEC scheduling war All of this and more is coming up on the Gwinnett Daily Post podcast, and if you are looking for community news, we encourage you to listen daily and subscribe! Break 1: Peggy Slappy STORY 1: Over a third of young adults had anxiety or depression during pandemic A study by Northwestern University found that people aged over 40 experienced lower levels of anxiety and depression during the COVID-19 pandemic than their younger counterparts. Over one-third of young adults were highly stressed during the pandemic, with anxiety and depression rates significantly higher among those aged 18 to 39 compared to those over 40. The study revealed that 40 percent of young adults had anxiety, and 33 percent had depression, compared to 31 percent and 24 percent, respectively, for those over 40. Economic precarity and responses to social upheaval were identified as factors contributing to young adults' worse mental well-being. STORY 2: Vegan diet can help rapidly improve heart health: study A study by Stanford University found that adopting a vegan diet for eight weeks significantly improved heart health, with the most substantial changes occurring in the first four weeks. The research focused on identical twins to eliminate genetic and upbringing variables. Participants on the vegan diet showed lower cholesterol levels, insulin, and body weight compared to omnivores. Vegan participants experienced a 20 percent drop in fasting insulin, reducing diabetes risk, and lost an average of 4.2 pounds more than omnivores. The study emphasized that incorporating more plant-based foods into one's diet could offer health benefits, even if not adopting a strictly vegan lifestyle. STORY 3: Mark Story: In the SEC football scheduling war, has Kentucky fought the wrong battle? The Southeastern Conference (SEC) football championship game between No. 1 Georgia and No. 8 Alabama will mark the end of an era, as the SEC is scrapping divisions, coinciding with the arrival of Oklahoma and Texas in 2024-25. The new format will feature the top two teams in the league's 16-team standings. Stoops argues that preserving the divisional split would have been more beneficial for Kentucky's football future. The SEC's current division era, in place since 1992, has provided meaningful annual rivalries, competitive balance, and geographic proximity. The article suggests that the focus on creating more diversity in scheduling within the league may not be worth sacrificing the advantages of the divisional format. We have opportunities for sponsors to get great engagement on these shows. Call 770.874.3200 for more info. We'll be right back Break 2: MOG – TOM WAGES – DTL STORY 4: Could immigrants be America's new swing voter group? A nationwide survey conducted by The Times in partnership with KFF reveals a degree of ambivalence among immigrants, a group considered part of the Democratic base. While many lean Democratic, a significant number are not strongly attached to either major party. The survey, conducted among more than 3,300 immigrants, reflects the diversity of political views within this demographic. Overwhelming majorities indicated that their financial situation improved after moving to the U.S., challenging the conventional wisdom surrounding immigrants' partisan allegiance. The findings highlight a potential swing group among immigrants, showcasing their varied political perspectives and a willingness to consider alternatives. STORY 5: Christmas at Biltmore remains a beloved holiday tradition Biltmore House, the 250-room mansion built by George Vanderbilt, continues its long-standing Christmas tradition, inviting guests to experience the holiday enchantment with twinkling lights, ornaments, and hand-decorated Christmas trees. The estate, set against the backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains, offers the Christmas at Biltmore Daytime Celebration from Nov. 3 to Jan. 7, allowing visitors to tour the house, gardens, conservatory, winery, and Antler Hill Village. The Candlelight Christmas Evenings, running from Nov. 3 to Jan. 6, provides an Old World charm with thousands of lights, a 55-foot Norway spruce tree, and luminaries lining the walkways. The estate also features the Italian Renaissance Alive exhibition until Jan. 7, and special stay packages at the Inn on Biltmore Estate and Village Hotel. We'll be back in a moment Break 3:  JACKSON - INGLES 9 – ESOG STORY 6: Beverage Lab exhibit debuts at World of Coke The World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta introduces a new and immersive experience, the Beverage Lab, making it an even more compelling destination for the holiday season. The interactive exhibit allows visitors to actively participate in exploring the science, creativity, and innovation behind Coca-Cola's diverse lineup of drinks. The Beverage Lab features sections like "Look Inside," demystifying flavor creation and carbonation science; "Taste the Past," where visitors can sample classic drinks from Coca-Cola's vault, including New Coke; and "Shape the Future," where opinions on potential soft-drink formulas can be shared. Admission to Beverage Lab is included with general admission to the museum, offering various attractions. STORY 7: State Senate study committee recommends repealing CON law The Senate Study Committee on Certificate of Need (CON) Reform in Georgia has recommended repealing the state law governing hospital construction and medical services, concluding that the decades-old CON law hampers advances in health-care delivery, especially in rural areas. Georgia's CON law, in place since 1979, requires applicants for new medical facilities or health-care services to demonstrate the need to the state Department of Community Health. The committee's recommendation includes repealing the CON law or introducing reform measures that exempt certain healthcare services and facilities from the CON process, aiming to enhance healthcare delivery in the state. We'll have final thoughts after this. Break 4: Henssler 60 Signoff – Thanks again for hanging out with us on today's Gwinnett Daily Post podcast. When the head of the studio isn't satisfied with the ending Lucy wrote because it deviates from the original's feel-good conclusion, he sends Lucy to Biltmore Estate for research and inspiration. While there, she unwittingly discovers the ability to travel to the 1947 set of His Merry Wife! through the help of an hourglass. After shaking off the initial shock of this turn of events, Lucy embraces this as her chance to uncover the truth about the movie's original ending. While on set, she and Jack Huston (Kristoffer Polaha), one of the film's stars, spend time together and become close. But her sudden appearance has set off a chain of events that put the production in jeopardy. Before she can return to the present, Lucy must make things right or threaten to alter the future forever. Starring Bethany Joy Lenz and Kristoffer Polaha.

GDP Script/ Top Stories for Wednesday July 5 Publish Date: Monday July 3 From the Henssler Financial Studio Welcome to the Gwinnett Daily Post Podcast Today is Wednesday July 5th , and happy 73rd birthday to singer Huey Lewis ****Lewis 73****   I'm Bruce Jenkins and here are your top stories presented by Mall Of Georgia Chrysler Dodge Jeep 1. Gwinnett County Public Schools will hold first 2023 millage rate hearing on Wednesday 2. Chattahoochee River closure expanded amid sewage spill 3. Breakthrough may lead to individualized breast cancer treatments   Plus, Leah McGrath of Ingles Markets talks with Bruce Jenkins about cutting back on soda.   All of this and more is coming up on the Gwinnett Daily Post podcast.   Break 1 : Slappey   Story 1. millage   Gwinnett County Public Schools in Georgia will hold public hearings regarding the proposed millage rate for school taxes. The school board has tentatively adopted a 19.2-mill maintenance and operations millage rate and a 1.45-mill debt service millage rate, maintaining the rates at their 2022 levels. The millage rates fund the school system's day-to-day operations and pay down long-term debt from bond referenda. The rates determine property tax amounts, with the school system's millage rate comprising the largest portion. Despite the rates remaining the same, increased property values will result in higher school taxes. The hearings aim to gather community feedback.   STORY 2: sewage   Federal authorities have closed sections of the Chattahoochee River in Cobb and Fulton counties due to a sewage spill in Roswell causing high levels of E. coli bacteria. The closure includes all areas of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area south of the Chattahoochee Nature Center. Water quality tests have revealed E. coli levels exceeding the recommended limit for recreation. The park is collaborating with Chattahoochee Riverkeeper and local authorities to address the spill and has reported it to the Georgia Environmental Protection Division. Direct contact with the affected areas should be avoided until further notice to prevent health risks associated with E. coli infection. Story 3: Scientists have made a breakthrough in identifying genetic mutations that explain why some patients with the most common form of breast cancer do not respond to treatment. The study specifically focused on estrogen receptor-positive, HER2 (ER+/HER2) breast cancer, which is typically treated with hormonal therapies. The research found that around 20% of tumors resist treatment from the start, and up to 40% develop resistance over time. The findings suggest that personalized breast cancer treatments could be developed based on a person's genetic makeup. This discovery is particularly significant for young women, who are more likely to develop aggressive tumors......……..we'll be right back   Break 2: M.O.G. - Tom Wages - Obits     Story 4: Bice   Roger Bice, a Grayson resident, has been teaching piano and voice lessons for 50 years, impacting students around the world. He was recently honored for his five decades of music education by the Lawrenceville-Suwanee School of Music. Bice's musical career includes teaching at various levels, performing at prestigious venues, and serving as a worship pastor. He has had notable experiences such as performing at Carnegie Hall and entertaining at the Biltmore Estate. Despite being 72 years old, Bice has no plans to retire and continues to teach part-time while expressing his love for music and desire to celebrate 60 years in the field.   Story 5: health   New research from the University of Georgia reveals that foods like melon, peppers, pumpkin, and corn, along with carrots, can improve vision in low-light conditions. These foods contain lutein and zeaxanthin, compounds that accumulate in the retina and enhance eye health and functional vision. Athletes, in particular, benefit from improved visual range, which allows them to see targets clearly over a distance. Lutein and zeaxanthin act as filters to prevent blue light interference and can enhance athletes' ability to track objects against the sky in sports like baseball. However, the absorption and effects of these compounds vary among individuals, and it may take time to notice any improvements. Nonetheless, the potential benefits for athletes are significant.   Story 6: Tobin   Former Arizona Cardinals head coach and defensive coordinator Vince Tobin passed away at the age of 79. The cause of death was not disclosed. Tobin had a mixed tenure as head coach of the Cardinals from 1996 to 2000, compiling a record of 28-43. He led the team to one winning season in 1998, which included a playoff victory. Prior to his head coaching role, Tobin served as the defensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears from 1986 to 1992, working under Mike Ditka. He also held defensive coordinator positions in the CFL, USFL, Indianapolis Colts, and Detroit Lions. Tobin was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 2008.   We'll be back in a moment   Break 3: Fernbank (nature of color spot) -ESOG – Ingles 3     Story 7: Leah   And Now, Leah McGrath of Ingles Markets talks with us about cutting back on soda   ****Leah****   We'll have final thoughts after this   Break 4: Lawrenceville Henssler 60 Thanks again for listening to today's Gwinnett Daily Post podcast.
