Certains artistes découpent un même morceau en plusieurs parties, alors que d'autres écrivent une suite seulement des années plus tard, comme au cinéma ! Passons en revue ensemble quelques exemples : Johnny B Goode, grand classique du rock, dont la version du film ''Retour Vers le Futur'' quand Marty McFly invente le rock'n'roll dans les années 50. Inspiré de la vie de Chuck Berry himself, il y a eu une suite à Johnny B Goode, elle s'intitule “Bye Bye Johnny”. En 1979, Madness publie son premier album, on y retrouve ce grand classique “My Girl” écrit à l'arrière d'un paquet de cigarettes par le claviériste Mike Baron. En 2012, sur l'album au nom amusant “Oui Oui Si Si Ja Ja Da Da" Madness nous pond la suite, intitulée simplement “My Girl 2”. “Lola” un titre écrit par Ray Davies des Kinks après avoir dansé avec une “belle blonde” à la barbe de 3 jours.
