Picky eaters seem to be everywhere these days. It often begins with children expressing their dislikes to their parents, leading to the preparation of an entirely different meal just for them. We want to discuss whether this practice is acceptable. Hello everyone! Welcome back to the podcast. It has been a while since I've shared an interview with you and I'm excited about this one because I welcome back a former guest and one of the coaches who works inside Wayza Health. Christina Claytor, the founder of Mindful Health Revolution, joins me again but this time to talk about raising her two young daughters as intuitive eaters. She's here to enlighten us with her story and the truth about what it really takes to instill and maintain intuitive eating in your children.Christina's two daughters are 4 and nearly 2 and she and her husband are raising them as intuitive eaters. So what does that look like? Christina explains the many conversations that go into helping her kids navigate food and hunger but also the many conversations with family members about how she is raising her daughters to avoid food rules and diet culture. She explains her experience with the common myth that if you let kids eat sugar that's all they'll eat, how to still say no and set reasonable boundaries without labelling food as good or bad, and how to navigate your feelings about food waste and snacks when guiding kids through intuitive eating. This episode is a glimpse into the reality of bringing intuitive eating into children's lives and teaching them mindfulness about food.__About Christina Claytor:Christina Claytor is the founder of The Mindful Health Revolution where she helps clients break up with overwhelming diets and workout plans so they can stop feeling like a failure and start confidently taking action to have health on their own terms.__Resources discussed in this episode:“How to Raise an Intuitive Eater: Raising the Next Generation with Food and Body Confidence” by Sumner Brooks and Amee Severson“Fat Talk: Parenting in the Age of Diet Culture” by Virginia Sole-SmithEpisode 143: Operationalizing Your Goals with Christina Claytor__Learn more about Christina Claytor:Website: TheMindfulHealthRevolution.comInstagramFacebookLearn more about Dr. Michelle Tubman and Wayza Health:Website: www.wayzahealth.comFollow me on Facebook and InstagramEmail Michelle: michelle@wayzahealth.com

Episode 2408: Dr. Laura Markham shares actionable advice for helping children embrace healthier eating habits, particularly with vegetables. She highlights strategies like exposure to new foods, creative snack options, incorporating veggies into family recipes, and fostering a no-pressure environment to encourage positive associations with nutritious meals. Read along with the original article(s) here: https://www.peacefulparenthappykids.com/read/how-to-help-children-become-healthy-eaters-especially-vegetables Quotes to ponder: "Research has shown that the most important factor in getting kids to eat new foods is exposing them to the food." "I would NEVER force a child to eat a specific food. I think it's fine to ask them to try one taste, but if they don't want more, that's their prerogative." "Mostly, I should reassure you that most kids end up eating diets much like what they grew up eating." Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

On today's episode, Jonah is joined by Dispatchheavy-hitter Kevin D. Williamson to discuss his latest piece, “The Exotic Cat-Eaters of Springfield, Ohio.” Unlike many of those sharing unsubstantiated rumors of Haitian migrants eating pets, Kevin actually took a trip to Springfield and spoke with members of the community. This is not a tale of dystopian fur-baby slaughter, but instead a reckoning on the character of J.D. Vance, whom Kevin believes has scapegoated impoverished, hard-working people for his own political purposes. Jonah considers the legitimacy of Kevin's claim that Vance is the “most despicable human being in public life,” why so many people are chasing the lie of the pet-hungry immigrants, and the plague of cleverness that is damaging the right. As a treat, if you make it all the way to the end, you'll catch Jonah and Kevin circumvent the question of the hour: Who are they voting for? Show Notes: —“The Exotic Cat-Eaters of Springfield, Ohio” —Move on, guys —Jonah on lying for justice —Kevin on the church of climate change The Remnant is a production of The Dispatch, a digital media company covering politics, policy, and culture from a non-partisan, conservative perspective.
