So in the summer of 2019, they started the whole process and by July they brought their sweet baby boy home. Why are we talking about infertility on a podcast for mamas?Because motherhood is so multi-dimensional and layered that people dealing with infertility are mamas, too.Gillian, a fellow OT based in mental health and pal of mine, shares her story on this week's episode of the podcast. Even if you're someone that has never dealt with infertility, tuning into this episode will help you better address it with the people in your life that are dealing with it (and trust me, there's someone in your life going through infertility).Gillian and I talked about: The impact that infertility has on her roles and routines Options such as IVF, foster care, and adoption, and how these options have nothing to do with infertility The most helpful way to approach the conversation with someone dealing with infertility or pregnancy loss Her primary ways of dealing that have been most helpful The trauma that's usually part of adoption Gillian shares her story beautifully in hopes that it'll resonate with others.
