In this episode, we go back to the island in second editions of podcast favorites Santorini and Tortuga 1667! Santorini: Pantheon Edition takes the original Santorini and its “Golden Fleece” expansion and presents them in a new package with revised rules and upgraded components. The teenager and I have been playing it regularly since we got it, and we are loving it. When I heard about Tortuga 1667: Deluxe Edition, I was excited at the prospect of upgraded components for the game, but I was a little worried when I heard that there would be revised rules. The original game is so, so good, it was hard to imagine how they would improve it, but they did!In this episode, I discuss what's new in each of these games and what I appreciate about the changes. Kudos to Roxley Games and Facade Games for these quality second editions of some of our favorite games! Travis and Holly Hancock launched Facade Games in 2015 with the kickstarter release of their first game, Salem. They never thought it would be anything more than a fun side project. However, it was a huge success and has lead to the creation of their dark cities game series. 6 years and five games later, I talk with Travis about his adventures in game design and what the future holds for Facade games.
Sarah is the illustrator behind all of the Dark City Series board games by Facade Games including the recently funded Bristol 1350, which raised over $900k USD on Kickstarter. Now with 6 successful games behind her including Trophies, also from Facade Games, and the Queen Bee from Elixir games, she continues to draw with fervor. Her work is also included in publications like the Friend Magazine, and various book covers. Recently, Sarah has been working on her own games, writing a comic, and spending time with her husband and two daughters.
Travis Hancock of Facade Games talks about their new Kickstarter campaign, Bristol 1350, which already has over 11,000 backers and hasn't even reached its end date of June 25th! Facade Games is owned and operated by Travis & Holly Hancock from Columbus, Ohio. They have sold over 100,000 games and raised over $1 million on Kickstarter with popular titles such as Salem 1692, Tortuga 1667, Deadwood 1876, and Trophies.

Travis Hancock of Facade Games iterated over his board game 'Salem' over 60 times before putting it on Kickstarter and securing over 100,000 dollars of pre-orders. Pretty soon Travis was quitting his job to build his company Facade Games, who's success was happening due to the quality of his product.
