Today we're discussing THE MANDALORIAN Chapter 2: “The Child”, which focuses on Din Djarin's first real adventure with Grogu after the shocking reveal at the end of the premiere. This episode, directed by Rick Famuyiwa, slows things down to emphasize atmosphere, character development, and the unlikely bond forming between the hardened bounty hunter and the mysterious Force-sensitive child. Chapter 2 is a reminder of just how strong The Mandalorian was in its earliest days. Before the MandoVerse expanded with The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and Season 3's bigger storylines, this episode kept the focus small, grounded, and intimate. From the intense battle with the Mudhorn, to Grogu using the Force for the very first time, to the comedic yet surprisingly important role of the Jawas, “The Child” showed us that Star Wars on Disney+ could deliver a story that felt both epic and personal. In this discussion, we're going down memory lane to revisit why Chapter 2 worked so well, and why so many fans fell in love with the series before interconnected spinoffs and “universe building” began to dominate. This was a simpler, almost timeless slice of Star Wars storytelling that still holds up today. Are you ready to hear from some great Star Wars artists? At Rebel Scum Con, we had the amazing opportunity to connect with four talented artists who are not only passionate about Star Wars, but also masters of their craft. These creators opened up about their inspirations, creative journeys, and the unique processes behind their work. Each artist also gave us a personal tour of their booth, offering a closer look at the artwork that brings the galaxy far, far away to life. You'll hear directly from: Jason W. Christman – known for his bold, graphic style and minimalist takes on iconic Star Wars moments. Brian DeGuire – blending classic design with an in-universe propaganda twist. Tom Hodges – known for his Star Wars Universe Park Map, well before the announcement of Galaxy's Edge. Spencer Brinkerhoff III – bringing a playful and vibrant approach to the Star Wars universe with his imaginative illustrations and entrepreneurial spirit. The convention, held August 8-10, 2025 is a fan-run event which means the organizers knew exactly what we wanted! Throughout the next month we are sharing ALL that content, so look up episode 525 to hear from some Star Wars actors. Today, we go back to where it all began with The Mandalorian Chapter 1... the premiere that launched Disney+ and redefined Star Wars for a new era. Before the MandoVerse expanded into spinoffs like The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and The Mandalorian Season 3, there was just one story: a lone bounty hunter navigating the galaxy far, far away. We're taking a trip down memory lane to revisit what made The Mandalorian's first episode so special — from Pedro Pascal's stoic performance as Din Djarin, to Jon Favreau's western-inspired storytelling, to Dave Filoni's direction that perfectly balanced mystery, action, and heart. And of course, we can't forget the iconic debut of Grogu (Baby Yoda), a moment that instantly became a cultural phenomenon. Looking back, it's striking how fresh and focused the series felt at the start, before Disney+ leaned fully into interconnected spinoffs and the larger “MandoVerse.” This discussion isn't just a review of The Mandalorian Chapter 1, but also a reflection on what it meant for Star Wars in 2019, a time when fans were optimistic and the future of Star Wars TV felt wide open post-The Rise of Skywalker. Should Mace Windu live past Revenge of the Sith? Is Episode III overrated? Is The Acolyte one of the better Disney Star Wars projects? Is the original trilogy outdated? Do the prequels rely on The Clone Wars to be good? Should Captain Phasma have been the new Boba Fett? Is Anakin Skywalker being the chosen one a good thing? We look through tons of Star Wars hot takes today, provided by you guys, our audience! Eva is missing this week, so Clone Wars is taking a back seat yet again! This one gets a little weird. We spend WAY too long debating what constitutes a “tunnel” in the objective sense. But outside of that, a fairly standard episode: segments, and then discussion of a Screen Rant article! Specifics include: what makes Luke Skywalker a Jedi? Does Book of Boba Fett provide anything of worth to the franchise? And finally… Grogu: what was he doing there? Full show notes: https://notes.moseisley.xyz/s/qAk9JSiCL#

After soaring to the stratosphere over the past decade, the legendary Star Wars prototype has returned to earth in 2025. A Rocket-Firing Boba Fett, the first version of the figure Kenner created but never released, crossed the million-dollar mark at auction in the summer of 2024. In December, one hand-painted example sold for $275,000. Six months later, at a June Goldin auction, a similar variant failed to generate interest, and shockingly ended at just under $104,000. This month, a rarer J-slot version, estimated at $200,000, only reached $86,000 at Goldin. Are these underperforming sales a short-term stumble, or do they point to a longer-term trend among Rocket Fetts and Star Wars collectibles? Join host David Quinn for a fascinating look at the history of the Rocket-Firing Boba Fett: the early design process, why the figure was never released, and how it became the most iconic toy prototype in the world. Episode Summary:In the third and final chapter of our Star Wars original trilogy series, Scott, Candice, and guests take the mic with a few extra drinks and zero fear of ruffling fanboy feathers. This episode is all about changing canon, fixing missed opportunities, and imagining what could have been in the galaxy far, far away. From rapid-fire “Jedi or Sith” questions to deep dives on Ewok backstories, Captain Phasma fan theories, and why Boba Fett might be overrated, no character is safe. We pitch spin-offs for the underappreciated, debate which moments in The Rise of Skywalker should be rewritten, and even ask the ultimate question—should Episodes VII, VIII, and IX have been made at all?Plus, you'll hear:Which character one host would happily launch out of a cannon. Why the Luke and Leia kiss still gives everyone the ick.A theory that turns Jar Jar Binks into a secret Sith Lord.A surprisingly dark fan theory about Obi-Wan and the fate of Owen and Beru. Our most unpopular Star Wars opinions (brace yourself, purists). It's chaotic, it's passionate, and it's exactly the kind of spirited debate you'd expect from Disney adults who have been drinking since morning. Grab a drink, open your mind, and prepare for some serious Star Wars heresy.Listen now for laughs, hot takes, and maybe a new perspective on your favorite (or least favorite) parts of the saga.
This week on our Clone Wars Rewatch we are talking all about Boba Fett's introduction into the show, which includes: Death Trap (220), R2 Come Home (221), and Lethal Trackdown (222). Tune in to hear us talk about: Why is Boba Fett undercover in this time period and what are his goals? What kind of relationship does he have the people around him? Including fellow clones and bounty hunters? Are there any comparisons to make between Boba Fett and Ahsoka Tano throughout this arc as they intersect? …and much, much more! This time, the animated stories focused on one character long thought dead due to a novel and another character whom we saw meet their demise at the hands of Boba Fett in The Book of Boba Fett! But it turns out both Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane had some more stories left in them after all. Join the crew of the Drunken Gungan as we debate whether this was a worthwhile exercise...or an exercise in futility. Howdy, spacefarers — and thank you for tuning in to another episode of the Re-Watch Podcast! Today's show is extra special because I'm joined by my friend Joe, an avid comic book reader, collector, and all-around pop culture expert.I first noticed Joe's impressive Marvel collection at the office — featuring Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and Doctor Doom. He's also a seasoned convention-goer with autographs from the legendary actors behind Darth Vader, Boba Fett, and R2-D2.There's plenty of crossover in our fandoms, and today, I introduced Joe to Andor — what many fans consider the best Star Wars series Disney has produced. While Andor Season 2 has just debuted, we kicked things off with the very first episode of Season 1.Like me, Joe ranks Rogue One as one of the finest Star Wars films ever made. I've long argued that while Solo was the Star Wars movie no one asked for, Andor is the show we didn't know we desperately needed. Season 1 shattered expectations — and we're all eager to see how Season 2 measures up.Tune in as Joe shares his Star Wars knowledge, comic book adventures, and convention stories — and I make the case for why Andor deserves his full attention.
In this episode of Star Wars Uplink, we're diving deep into the swirling Star Wars rumors surrounding a potential second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi. The first season split the fandom — from showcasing a broken Kenobi and a fearsome Vader to raising questions about canon, character arcs, and just how far fan service should go. We unpack: - Why the Obi-Wan Kenobi show was so divisive - What worked — and what didn't — in the story of Vader and Kenobi - The risks of rewriting canon for nostalgia's sake - What a second season could explore (and what it should avoid) - Whether this rumor is just smoke… or the start of something real Could Season 2 redeem the show's legacy — or break it further? Let's talk theories, possibilities, and the future of Star Wars storytelling. Drop your thoughts in the comments: Do you want to see Obi-Wan Kenobi return?
