This week, the CREEP-O-RAMA guys grabs their bats, laces uptheir roller skates (for tactical reasons), and dives headfirst into two beloved cult classics: The Warriors (1979), directed by Walter Hill, and SLC Punk! (1998), directed by James Merendino. One movie asks, "Can you dig it?" The other asks, "Can you emotionally recover from Matthew Lillard?" We start with why The Warriors remains one of the coolest looking films ever made that convinced an entire generation that New York City was populated by approximately 50,000 themed street gangs whose monthly clothing budget rivaled the GDP of a small nation. At some point, we sidebar the praise and focus on theimportant questions, like who approved the gang uniforms How does Roller Skate Guy explain his career choices to his parents? Did Cyrus really think 2,000 gang members standing three football fields away could hear his motivational TED Talk with zero microphone? We can dig it, Cyrus, we just can't hearyou. We also derail into increasingly deranged conspiracy theories, concluding that The Warriors, The Crow, and John Carpenter's The Thing all share the same cinematic universe because honestly... prove they don't. Fox survives getting hit by the train, relocates to Antarctica, gets assimilated by an alien organism, Brandon Lee comes back from the dead thanks to a bird, and somehow this makes more sense than a gang whose entire combat strategy revolves around synchronized roller skating. Cinema has peaked. Then we crash headfirst into SLC Punk!, where Josh experiences the cult classic for the first time and discovers that Matthew Lillard apparently wakes up every morning and chooses violence against your emotions. One minute we're laughing at Jason Segel being the most punk character of all, and the next we're staring into the existential void confronting life and death over blasting The Misfits. Ugh. Posers. But since attention spans are fictional, by the end of the episode we also touch on Blockbuster nostalgia, Ecco the Dolphin being psychological warfare disguised as a children's game, Earthworm Jim, Wave Race & Mario Kart 64, Pilotwings, and the trauma of waiting three whole months to rent a video game only to discover it sucked. Those were the days. CREEP-O-RAMA is: Store: CREEP-O-RAMAYouTube: @creep-o-ramaJosh: @joshblevesqueArtwork: @bargainbinblasphemyTheme: @imfigureAudio: @stranjlove

When your Halloween party draws 700 people, you're doing something right. Katie Mattox, VP of Marketing at SphereX, explains how a distillate vape company captured 20% of Colorado's market by throwing roller skating parties and giving away unexpected gifts instead of just pushing products.Drawing from a decade at an event agency working with Budweiser and Michelob Ultra, she translated liquor marketing strategies to cannabis with remarkable results. The approach centers on emotional connections, not just transactions. While Colorado's cannabis industry declined since 2021 as tourism dried up, SphereX thrived by offering dispensaries twenty-five percent kickbacks on wholesale purchases for marketing reinvestment. This creative support allowed partners to run customized campaigns, from billboards to local artist collaborations.Recently, the brand expanded beyond vapes into adaptogenic mushroom gummies targeting older demographics. Their sleep gummies with five milligrams of THC and reishi have become particularly popular with novice consumers. SphereX also demonstrates values-driven marketing by supporting LGBTQ causes, recognizing the community's foundational role in cannabis culture. What makes customers return after trying a product just once? Listen to discover how SphereX plans to double production capacity to 500,000 carts monthly by 2026.Chapters:00:00:04 - Colorado Cannabis Brand Product Lineup Overview00:01:20 - Understanding Different Consumer Demographics and Values00:02:46 - Supporting LGBTQ+ Causes in Cannabis00:04:21 - From Roller Skating Events to Community Impact00:05:06 - Building Emotional Connections in Cannabis Branding00:06:16 - Creative Marketing Strategies for Cannabis Brands00:08:05 - Building Trust Through Unexpected Gifts00:09:45 - Marketing Reinvestment Program for Dispensaries00:11:34 - Doubling Production Capacity in 202600:12:46 - Building Brand Connection Through Large-Scale Events00:14:38 - THC Edibles with Reishi for RelaxationGuest Website: https://www.wearespherex.com/ WEBSITE: https://cannatechtoday.com/Make sure to follow our other social media platforms to stay up-to-date on all things Cannabis & Tech Today.https://twitter.com/cannatechtodayhttps://www.facebook.com/CannaTechTodayhttps://www.instagram.com/cannatechtoday

Hello to you listening in Karachi, Pakistan! Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Motivate Your Monday and your host, Diane Wyzga. Maybe like me you've failed more times than you can count. Is it possible to use our failures to encourage a new opportunity, a do-over even? Yes. How do I know? I've learned from the best! Wile E. Coyote is the quintessentially resilient cartoon character who pursues Road Runner with disastrous gadgets purchased from a fictional mail-order company called ACME. Giant magnets, rocket-powered roller skates, earthquake pills, invisible paint, and movable tunnel entrances always backfire. Coyote never ever catches the Road Runner, but does that stop him? No! Do we want Coyote to catch Road Runner? No! We want to see what Coyote will do next. Failure stops creativity when we or someone else says "Give up!" But! When we refuse to give up failure encourages creativity because that's the job of failure. Never underestimate the power of your persistent efforts to begin anew. Life expects do-overs! You're always welcome: "Come for the stories - Stay for the magic!" Speaking of magic, I hope you'll subscribe, share a 5-star rating and nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, bring your friends and rellies, and join us! Brought to you by the butts of the Town and Country security guards, Chelsea's most baffling experience of the season: Xanadu (1980). This beautifully rendered 80's roller disco fever dream skated its way into Madison's heart and melted Chelsea's brain in the process. What was the plot? What was that Ferngully-styled animated love montage? Why is Gene Kelly on skates? None of this gets answered! You'll love it, we promise. The soundtrack is incredible and the visuals were cutting edge. Were. The cinematic world of love and laughter had rom-com enthusiast Madison head over heels from the time Harry met Sally. For genre skeptic Chelsea, however, it's been a grueling enemies-to-lovers plot. In Love at First Screening, Madison introduces Chelsea to all the fan-favorite love stories she's never wanted to watch. One friend's passion might be the other's displeasure, but doesn't love conquer all? Tune in every other Wednesday to find out.

Patsy beams as she shares the big weekend her daughter Audie had performing in Xanadu at the beautiful St Kilda theatre. The team unpacks the joy of stage school productions: kids flying around on roller skates, stunning costumes, nerves, teamwork, and that unmistakable buzz when a child finds their thing. Christian jumps in with his own memories of his daughters’ theatre days.. the pride, the emotional punch, and the brutal modern rules: one photo only, no hugs, no kisses, and absolutely no “making it weird.”See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

We've returned with another Off The Cuff with Colin Kelso where we talk about some comments Tony Hawk made in a recent roller skating magazine and the deeper meaning behind it all.
Dive into this week's episode with Andy Roddick and Jon Wertheim, where we tackle the hottest topics in tennis and beyond. We start with a quick-fire recap of weekend winners from Dallas to Abu Dhabi. Jon breaks down the buzz: a PIF investment in the ATP rankings, the intrigue of the 6 Kings Slam, and rumors of a Saudi Arabia event to start the season. The duo explores scheduling woes for top players with insights from Andy's past and a candid take on navigating coaching changes. Plus, Andy tackles the Super Bowl — the Chiefs' victory and Usher's roller-skating halftime show stealing the spotlight. To read more on this and other stories, head to BlockClubChicago.org New Goal Update:Block Club Chicago is participating in NewsMatch, an annual campaign that aims to bolster support of nonprofit newsrooms across the nation and fill the gaps news deserts have left.Block Club has participated in the national NewsMatch campaign every year since we launched. The campaign matched donations dollar to dollar to our newsroom. But because of our newsroom's growth (thanks to you!) and the growth of nonprofit news, our newsroom doesn't qualify for matching support from foundations this year. Our newsroom is a recipient of the DEI Partner Fund supported by the Knight Foundation and Heising-Simons Foundation. They are generously donating $8,000 that will contribute to our year-end donation goal.On November 1, we set an ambitious goal to raise $20,000 and reached it in 20 days thanks to the generous support of our readers. We're moving the meter to see if we can double ourinitialgoal by December 31.Every time we've asked for your support, you've never let us down. Help us reach our new goal of $40,000.We're also looking for donors to match their contribution to help us raise even more money from participating in NewsMatch. Offering a match is a powerful tool for our newsroom because it incentivizes other readers to give. The more money we raise, the more we can reinvest in putting reporters on the ground and covering the stories that matter most to you.No donation is too small to match. If you're interested in matching your donation, please reach out to Maple Walker Lloyd at maple@blockclubchi.org.
