But first, back at Angel's Share, our hosts are in for a surprise when someone crawls through the window during the recording! The TOTS are excited to have Melty, co-host of Genshin Impact podcast The Resonance, join us for this recording. As the self-proclaimed number one Furina fan, Melty brings expertise on the character our hosts can't wait to share and learn from. Once things are settled in Mondstadt city, we turn our attention to the nation of Justice and discuss our first impressions of Furina, comparing her to Fischl and the other archons. Our hosts then discuss Furina's role in the Fontaine Archon Quest, how her truth is finally revealed, and how much suffering she endured to save all of Fontaine. Afterward, we'll discuss Furina's new life as a mortal, her directorial debut, and how she got her Vision.

This is is a Basic Alchemical Meditation compounded from meditative techniques used by alchemists such as Paracelsus, Basil Valintine, and Jakob Boehme. Each phase is a separate meditation and can be practiced separately from the others. There are three general steps in the full meditation that correspond to the three phases of alchemy. The first phase is the Nigredo (darkening, death, and putrefaction of the ego), which consists of two operations in which one attempts to Disengage Physically and Disengage Mentally from the world. The second phase is the Albedo (whitening and purification) in which one achieves original innocence or Zero-state Consciousness. The third phase is Rubedo (reddening or empowered integration into a new level of being) that is found in continued Meditation in the Pure Light. Overall, the first two phases represent a progressive resurrection and purification of the light of consciousness to prepare for the transformative, one-pointed “Meditation in the Pure Light” phase. In that phase, alchemists feel they are working with the logoic light to transform reality in not only the inner lab or soul but also in the objective material reality of their “laboratory” or outer world. Whether you are a novice meditator or experienced, the following instructions should be helpful in achieving Meditation in the Pure Light. But feel free to follow your own path in meditation or customize these steps to fit your regimen. The most important lesson is to grasp is the dual nature of our reality—the spiritual and material realms in which we exist. The bridge between those two realms can only be found in the Pure Light—in what Paracelsus called the “True Imagination.” From my new book, "How the Alchemists m Meditated: The Ancient Roots of Spiritual Alchemy."

Ad Astra Travelers and welcome to Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast. This week our hosts are discussing one of the worst mothers in all of Teyvat, Rhinedottir, AKA Gold! Our hosts start by giving an overview look at who Gold is: Sinner, Alchemist, Albedo's terrible mom. After Feens threatens anarchy on her potential mother-in-law, we take a deep dive into all of Gold's great, and terrible, creations including Durin, Sus-Bedo, and the Rifthounds. After, we discuss her role as one of the five sinners of Khaenri'ah and the part she played in the cataclysm 500 years ago. Later, we discuss her membership in the Hexenzirkel, a gang of witches that seem to have some sort of power in Teyvat. Is Gold ever going to come back for Albedo? Did she strike a deal with the Tsaritsa in return for the archon's lover's heart? Or perhaps her very own? Well, well, well... you don't a much stronger start to a game than that! Xenosaga III REALLY impressed me in its opening act. This is by far the most polished product of this trilogy, and we're excited to share our incites with you on all the great symbolism and strong setups here. Following her resignation from Vector, Shion teams up with Scientia to investigate the company's secrets while Allen takes her place looking after KOS-MOS. Meanwhile, Canaan, Jr., Jin, chaos, MOMO, and Ziggy investigate a landmass floating through space that originated from Lost Jerusalem. Margulis attacks them in response, and the landmass is swallowed up in an inverted pocket of hyperspace, which the Elsa also falls into. Meanwhile, Shion visits Allen and sees a demonstration of two new weapons for fighting the Gnosis—T-elos, a battle robot meant to replace KOS-MOS, and Omega, a mech created from the remains of the Proto Omega and piloted by Abel. After the test, T-elos' creator, Roth Mantel, informs Allen that KOS-MOS will be scrapped in favor of T-elos. Because KOS-MOS's weaponry is the only way to break into the hyperspace pocket and save the Elsa, Shion leads the group into the facility and rescues KOS-MOS, guided at one point by Abel. Nephilim visits Shion frequently during this time, and Shion begins to experience a series of blackouts where U-DO contacts her. These events are observed by Wilhelm, who is working with the Testaments to find Abel his Ark. Entering the hyperspace pocket, the group finds the Elsa and investigates the area, encountering both Albedo and Virgil and learning that the Vessels of Anima powering their E.S. mechs are critical to the Testaments' plans. They are then confronted by Mantel—who reveals himself as the Red Testament—and T-elos. T-elos nearly kills KOS-MOS, but Shion's pendant activates and seemingly transports the group to the planet Miltia fifteen years in the past.

Dave Brisbin 7.7.24 Very few of us know the word albedo, yet we use it every day, and it's a huge factor in climate change. From the Latin word for white (think albino), albedo is the amount of light reflected off any surface. We all know that light colors reflect sunlight, a cooling effect like those impossibly white houses on seacliffs in Greece. Dark colors absorb, storing heat, so the amount of snow, glaciers, and sand versus dark forests, ocean, and urban sprawl greatly determines the temperature of our planet. Jesus tells us that we'll know the quality of prophets—and by extension anyone—by their fruit. You can't get figs from thorn bushes. Good trees produce good fruit and bad ones bad, so looking at the fruit gets at the heart of a person. But he also says that not everyone who calls out in his name will enter the kingdom of God, and when they protest that they prophesied and cast out demons, performed miracles and built 24/7 satellite networks, he'd simply say depart from me, I never knew you. If prophecy and miracles aren't good enough fruit to be known by God, what is Jesus talking about? Jesus is constantly trying to get us to graduate from accomplishment and reward as motivation. It's not that our accomplishments, however motivated, aren't good in that they can benefit others, but that they are meaningless in terms of gaining what can't be acquired—a connection as primal as the air we freely breathe. Though God would never banish us because we haven't yet graduated, the more we work to distinguish ourselves to gain approval, the more we believe the illusion of our own separation, banishing ourselves. How do we know we're living a life that is graduating? By our own fruit, of course. Not our accomplishments, but our spiritual albedo…total reflectivity. With God as spiritual sunshine, how much are we reflecting? With God as connection itself, how much connection do we leave in our wake? Are we leaving people better than we found them? Are our closest relationships intimate? Knowing God is the only criteria Jesus gives. To know God is to reflect God, and until that is our only motivation, we can't do either.

Despite attempts by many of you to convince us otherwise, we still really like this game! While visiting her brother, Jin, Shion blames his absence for the deaths of their parents during the Miltian Conflict. Meanwhile, during a procedure to analyze the Y-Data MOMO possesses, a virus implanted by Albedo activates, and MOMO fragments her own personality to keep Mizrahi's data secure. Shion, Jr. and the rest of the group initiate an encephalon dive to enter MOMO's subconscious and save her. During this period, Jr. reveals that he and his brothers were part of an experiment by Dmitri Yuriev: Yuriev's wish was to create an existence that would neutralize U-DO. The three of them were close, but Albedo became despondent when he discovered his immortality was unique to him, meaning he would outlive his brothers. During an experiment, Jr. breaks the circuit containing a portion of U-DO, resulting in everyone except himself, Albedo, and Gaignun being killed. After being touched by U-DO, Albedo goes insane while Gaignun remains unaffected. As they save MOMO, Albedo hacks in and tricks MOMO into releasing the decoded Y-Data to him, and using that data, Albedo opens the way to Miltia. With Miltia accessible, the Federation, U-TIC, and the Immigrant Fleet fight each other for control of the Zohar hidden on the planet.

As we head into an ever warming world, some experts and politicians are embracing a possible solution to climate change called geoengineering. Theoretically geoengineering could slow down climate change, stop it, and maybe even remove carbon from the air. It sounds like the perfect answer in for a global political system that just can't stop burning fossil fuels even if it kills us all. However, it might not be the easy fix we're hoping for. We talk to scientists and activists about what geoengineering is and why it could actually be a dangerous way to tackle climate change. We also dive into the moral and ethical questions of testing geoengineering technology on indigenous lands.  Like this program? Please show us the love. Ad Astra Travelers! Welcome back to season three of Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast. Last week we discussed Albedo, The Kreideprinz. This will definitely not be the last time we hear about Albedo this season, or Feens' love of him. This week, we'll be discussing Shenhe. Once our hosts confirm that Shenhe does in fact need the ropes to hold back her murderous rage, much to Tif's dismay, they discuss Shenhe's tragic backstory. But Shenhe's fate may not be determined just by her father's treatment, but also by the stars that have gifted her with some pretty disastrous wills in life. We also make sure to discuss pageant moms, working the pain away, and how eating only herbs can hurt your stomach. VLEO is a term that you don't hear everyday in the space industry. It refers to “Very Low Earth Orbit,” a region of space that's roughly twice as close to Earth's surface as the commonly-used LEO, or “Low Earth Orbit,” where most companies are building their satellite constellations. But not Albedo. The Austin, TX- and Denver, CO-based startup is changing the architecture of Earth Observation (EO) by operating satellites at an orbital regime in which no other commercial provider is successfully operating.Today's Pathfinder episode features Albedo cofounder and CEO Topher Haddad. Haddad spent the initial years of his career at Lockheed Martin, where he developed passive and active remote sensing systems before jumping into the famed startup accelerator Y Combinator to start Albedo. Why VLEO? Albedo is pushing the boundaries of EO by offering aerial-quality imagery (optical and thermal to start) from space. In Dec. 2021, the company obtained the first commercial NOAA license to sell 10-cm satellite imagery—much higher-res than the 30-cm imagery that was allowed previously. Operating in VLEO enables 10-cm resolution at substantially lower cost than existing government satellites as long as you can solve the propulsion and positioning problem (more on that in the pod!).Albedo is targeting early 2025 for its first satellite launch with a second launch later that year and several more in 2026. The initial constellation of six satellites is expected to achieve daily revisit, and the full constellation of 24 is intended to eventually reach five revisits per day.A sneak peek…Mo and Topher chat about the early days of Albedo, learnings from Lockheed, and building across Austin and Denver.
