In March, Craig hosted a panel for Tattooed Professionals at the ACPA Convention in Houston, Texas. The theme for this year's ACPA Convention was "Be Bold" and on his third attempt submitting this panel idea to other conventions, it was finally accepted! After all, what's more bold than being tattooed!Big thanks to the panelists, Ryan Bunts, Liv Parks, Katy Hamm, Patrick Romero-Aldaz, and Rasha Cheek for contributing so much to this rich conversation on tattoos, professionalism, and how they allow us to convey different aspects of our identities while connecting with our students! We are grateful for the ACPA planning committee for allowing us to use the audio from this presentation for the purposes of this podcast. Granted, we couldn't use all of the audio - primarily due to some audience questions not coming through in the mix - but what we are able to share makes for a quality conversation on the changing dynamics of professionalism in higher education.MUSIC NOTES:- This week we featured tunes from the new Hidden Hospitals album, "Liars," which is released this Friday on Spartan Records.- We shared the tunes, "Liars," and "Acid Rain" on this episode - and if you liked what you heard, go to SpartanRecords.com to snag a vinyl, CD, or digital copy of the album.- You can also check out hiddenhospitals.bandcamp.com to listen to the album on Bandcamp - or find it on Spotify! As always, you can CHECK OUT THE SPOTIFY PLAYLIST!ADVERTISING NOTES:- Table-Turned is a DIY record-of-the-month club. This week, I'm joined Dave Raymond, singer/guitarist/songwriter for the super-cool Chicago band Hidden Hospitals. He picked the location for the recording: The vegetarian taqueria Quesadilla La Reina Del Sur (2235 N Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60647). The food was really good, if not destructively spicy. If you happen to be listening to this during the week of 5/14/18, go see Hidden Hospitals May 18th at the Burlington! Here's what we talked about on this episode, sponsored by Boost Mobile: The "chorizo" and "chicharrón" tacos: Totally meatless, and too scaldingly hot to actually touch. The radio history Hidden Hospitals and I share. Hidden Hospitals: Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. The only incontestable excuse for guest cancellations. The incursion of Black Bear Rodeo into the podcast recording. Hidden Hospitals history. The new album and the transformation of the band's sound for the new album, "Liars." A lot of songs on the new album are about relationships... Dave explains. "Liars" is on vinyl, and it looks cool. Why vinyl is awesome.
Chapter 132: "You Can Never Break The Train" ...as read by David Raymond of Hidden Hospitals Happy Easter! Say what you will about Chicago; the trains run on time. Check this album out on Spartan Records, and thanks to HH and Spartan for letting me leak some audio out for everyone: http://www.hiddenhospitals.com Chapter 132 Music: Clips from the entire album "Liars" "Liars" "Razor Blades" "Liars" "Smile And Wave" "Better Off" "Acid Rain" "Pulling Teeth" "Typecast" "Memories" "Taking Sides" "The Weeds" As The Story Grows links: Help out at Patreon ATSG Website ATSG Music and Merch Join the Email List ATSG Facebook Email: asthestorygrows@gmail.com Photo: Jerry Shirts

“Places revealed to those seeking resuscitation, rejuvenation, decompression, atonement.” Hidden Hospitals’ website reveals where the band derives its moniker. Their iconic mark captures the band’s foundational vision: obscured within the double “H,” a universal symbol for aid.
