Ogun Afrobeat ha editado el segundo disco del proyecto, ‘Koko Iroyin' (2016). El grupo está liderado por el nigeriano Akin Dimeji, batería y vocalista, e integrado por músicos de diversas procedencias tanto geográficas como estilísticas que dan riqueza, personalidad y distinción al afrobeat ?el estilo desarrollado en los 70 por los nigerianos Fela Kuti y Toni Allen? que interpretan. En yoruba el título del nuevo trabajo quiere decir “lo importante es el mensaje”, y nace de la mezcla de ritmos africanos tradicionales como el apala, el fuji o hig life con los códigos del funk y el jazz más contemporáneos. Ritmos poderosos para mensajes cantados en yoruba, inglés, árabe y español. Además de los miembros de la banda, como invitados cuentan con Frank T, Seydina Mboup, Aqeel, Mohammed El Bouzidi y Bilal Artiach. El primer álbum del Ogun Afrobeat fue “The Observer”, con una decena de temas (tres de ellos versiones de piezas de Fela Kuti) precedidos de una maqueta.
