Welcome back to the Vikings Postgame Report presented by Lumen - The trusted network of A.I. The Minnesota Vikings defeated the Green Bay Packers 16-3 at U.S. Bank Stadium to finish out their 2025 season. The Vikings closed out strong by hitting some milestones in the game and a couple of key members of the team received their flowers at the end of the game. Quarterbacks J.J. McCarthy and Max Brosmer both played for a half in the game, with McCarthy starting out the contest. J.J. finished the game 14-of-23 for 182 yards passing and added 7 yards on the ground. Brosmer finished the game 7-of-8 for 57 yards passing. Running back Jordan Mason led the Vikings with 94 yards on the ground, but 9 year veteran C.J. Ham scored the lone touchdown for the Vikings and added another 6 yards through the air. Wide Receiver Justin Jefferson finished his 2025 season on a high note: Justin finished the game with 8 receptions for 101 yards in the game. That pushed Justin over the 1,000 yard mark for the season and made him the 3rd player ever to finish that milestone in their first 6 seasons. Kicker Will Reichard finished the game perfect once again, converting 3 FG's and 1 XP in the contest. Defensively, they once again pitched a touchdown shutout down the stretch, only giving up a single field goal with 0:01 second left in the game. The crew finished the game with 4 sacks, including Linebacker Dallas Turner with two, Safety Theo Jackson with one, and Linebacker Blake Cashman with the other. Linebacker Eric Wilson led the team with 9 tackles on the day. Both Harrison Smith and C.J. Ham got standing ovations as they walked off the field at the end of the game. Paul Allen and Pete Bercich breakdown the game, including: the Vikings offseason wish list, the need for Quarterback J.J. McCarthy to attack the offseason, and the potential legacies left by both C.J. Ham and Harrison Smith. Plus, Head Coach Kevin O'Connell and Quarterback J.J. McCarthy's press conferences and more are all in this edition of the Vikings Postgame Report - presented by Lumen - The trusted network of A.I.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Jets managed to turn a $100,000 field goal giveaway into a full-blown PR embarrassment, NFL quarterbacks gave their offensive lines some of the weirdest Christmas gifts imaginable, and we close the year by running through the absolute best (and dumbest) sports stories of 2025. Along the way, things get off the rails in very predictable Craft Brewed Sports fashion. On this episode: • Weekend sports recap and the important question: who is actually the Chiefs' QB? • A listener-submitted Sip, Chug, Drainpour about soup exposes Mookie for putting BBQ sauce in potato soup • The Jets lose all goodwill by barring a fan from a $100K FG contest… then scrambling after public backlash • Sip, Chug, Drainpour: QB Christmas gifts edition • Tua's infrared therapy mats • Burrow's prehistoric fossils • Josh Allen buying literal meat • What we would buy our offensive linemen • The Raiders shamelessly tanking and Maxx Crosby calling it out • The rise of the NFL Short King (RBs and WRs included) • Why the AFC North and NFC South don't deserve playoff spots or home games • Recapping the best sports stories of 2025, including: • High school baseball chaos • Kendrick's halftime show • The Chiefs failing to three-peat • A soccer match canceled because someone pooped in a ref's shoe • Coaching firings, Lane Kiffin, political nonsense, and MLB playoff insanity • Notre Dame, Pop-Tarts, sprinkle helmets, Lou Holtz takes, and whether it's cake • NBA players entering the NCAA and Ted Cruz somehow getting involved • Final beer recaps and closing out a ridiculous year Sports talk without the fake seriousness. Ben Lindbergh, Craig Goldstein of Baseball Prospectus, and Joe Sheehan of The Joe Sheehan Baseball Newsletter break down teams’ last-minute Christmas shopping—including the White Sox signing Munetaka Murakami, the Padres signing Michael King and Sung Mun Song, the Orioles trading for Shane Baz, the Red Sox trading for Willson Contreras, a three-team trade involving the Pirates, Rays, and Astros, Jeff McNeil and Matt Strahm swaps, and the Yankees’ hibernation—plus banter about the quasi-retirement of Craig’s nemesis, Joe Kelly, the future of NPB, a report about Emmanuel Clase’s mid-game phone use, and supporting independent media. Then (1:11:40) they conduct an in-depth debate about the respective merits of human umpiring, the challenge system, and full ABS.
