We often settle for a life filled with things that don't satisfy, but Jesus offers us abundant life. Life and joy that is deep and lasting comes from him, and it's available to all. Text: John 2:1-12 1) The book of John is about life. John points out that Jesus is the one who created the world and life (John 1:3). He also writes his book so that we might believe in Jesus and have life in his name (John 19:31). In what ways does Jesus bring life? What do you think it means to have life in Jesus' name? 2) In Jewish culture, wine represented joy. Phil points out that our culture has lost a sense of deep joy, but Jesus wants to restore the joy that we've lost in our lives. What things do we often turn to in order to bring us joy? How has Jesus brought joy into your life? How is the joy Jesus brings different than that of the world? 3) Phil talked about how knowing God isn't a boring, religious activity - it's a life-transforming relationship. “When you connect with Jesus, your world changes.” He takes our dirty water and makes it into wine. How has Jesus changed your life? How is he currently changing you or teaching you? 4) “Jesus loves to partner with us to bring change into our lives. He wants to bring abundance of life (new wine) into our lives.” What are some ways that you can partner with Jesus and the Holy Spirit to experience abundant life?

As one of the four Gospels, the book of John goes into detail about the life of Jesus while he was on Earth; however, his book differs from the other Gospels in this - John doesn't start at Jesus' birth, but at the beginning of all things. Join us as Pastor Phil Campebell launches this new series, The Book of John, where we will take a deep dive into the contextual and historical significance of this Gospel.

I never would have thought we’d do a show based on inspiration from a "renegade minister, a handyman turned political activist and naturalist, and an innovative educator and early feminist voice.” But we did. Thanks to John Jantsch, author of the new book, "The Self-Relient Entrepreneur: 366 Daily Meditations to Feed Your Soul and Grow Your Business.” Although this book was written for entrepreneurs, who John traditionally serves, the lessons in this book apply to anyone. We talked about that, too. Because in his book John writes, “You can experience a spirit of self-reliance and independence no matter your profession or job title.” This is what we learned from Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, and Margaret Fuller. You know, those American transcendentalists.
