Send us a textRecently I spoke at an International Women's Day conference. The theme for International Women's Day 2025 is “Accelerate Action” focusing on strategies and tools to drive women's progress. For me this conversation is about women focusing on their areas of power. I find there are plenty of times that we as women are our own worst enemies, where we hold ourselves back. Let's take stock and focus on our wellbeing, which lifts all women. There are some common topics that seem to be universal for women: some common sticking points. These commonalities appear to be problematic for women and can keep them stuck. Join us in this Feed Your Soul with Kim Podcast where we answer the questions: What is International Women's Day and why is it important. 3 areas where women tend to struggle AND what to do. How and why, you should get into Accelerated Action. Please note this podcast is not a substitute for mental health therapy or seeing your physician. “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself?” Luke 9:23–25 Know God through Worship • We find ourselves, not within, but in worship. Feed Your Soul through Community • We find fulfillment, not in autonomy, but in community. Grow in Love through Service • We find meaning, not in success, but in service. Change Your World through Mission • We find purpose, not in monuments, but in mission. Takeaway: Jesus is inviting you on The Journey of a Lifetime… How will you choose to respond?

I decided to make a bold statement: Stop Exercising. Exercise connects us to all that is wrong with dieting and our feeling bad about our bodies. Exercise sets us up to feel less than and to ultimately quit any kind of activity presented to us. Here is the case for Joyful Movement, a lovely part of Intuitive Eating. I always thought exercise was hard and not worth it. I find movement is inviting and enlivening. We have not talked much about exercise and movement before on the podcast and now is high time we take it on. We recently celebrated the 100th episode of the Feed Your Soul with Kim Podcast.Looking back on 100 episodes of the podcast, I have many personal and professional takeaways. Let's see what you can learn from MY lessons. I suspect my takeaways are some of yours too. Intuitive eating is a life-long path to continual improvement of body, mind, and spirit. The progression of learning about intuitive eating is a pathway to learning about yourself. As I often say, it is about the food, but it is not about the food. The personal learnings are the deeper discovery of yourself with Intuitive Eating. Join us in this Feed Your Soul with Kim Podcast where we answer the questions:Four lessons from an intuitive eating podcaster (ME!!!)Thankful celebration for our lessons. Have you ever felt low, or on edge, after watching tv, scrolling social media, or listening to the news? Have you looked at what you're consuming? Just like food is nutrition for physical health, then for emotional and mental health, examine what you ingest and allow in too. Be mindful of what lifts versus what weighs down your spirit. Take control and be the subject, not the object, of your life sentences. You are your own chef de cuisine. Habitual thoughts don't have to be permanent if they're unhealthy junk food; old habitual choices can be replaced, perspectives can be reframed, and your palate can be changed. Separate the sustenance from the spoilage, to taste and savor life to nourish your soul.
I'm kicking off a series of What Drives You episodes with some incredibly interesting people. People who got clear on what they wanted, and why. That's what creates authentic drive, knowing what you want and why. Here I bring you Shawn Askinosie, founder of Askinosie Chocolate. If you are a Seth Godin follower you have likely heard of Shawn and Askinosie Chocolate, as Seth is a big fan of Shawn, the company, and the chocolate! As you're about to hear, Shawn's dad died at 14 and tore his world apart, setting him on a maniacal pace to accomplish big achievements and prove to God he didn't need him. He ultimately pursued law school and withstood 11 law school rejections, yer went on to have an exemplary, 20 year career. But he never overcame his dad's sickness and death. This led him to volunteering for palliative care at a hospital and starting a five year journey to a completely different vocation. A significant statement from him in this episode is this, “It's a funny paradox, but the first step in sorting myself out was actually not to think about myself, and instead to focus on other people.” Shawn has a book called, Meaningful Work - A Quest To Do Great Business, Find Your Calling, and Feed Your Soul. I highly recommend it and you can find it wherever you buy books, and at his website, shawnaskinosie. I welcome back my good friend Jason Angelette to talk about how we watch, think, and talk about movies. Jason opens the show by beautifully catching us up on how his family is doing as we approach the 3rd anniversary of his wife's passing. We, then, jump into a conversation about the importance of feeding your soul with good content, the gift of a great story, how to spot messages and agendas in films, why parents should talk to their kids after watching movies, setting limits, and how to safeguard your imagination. We share our thoughts about several different films throughout the episode. Buckle up. Have thoughts about this episode? Join the conversation on Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn.
