Natalie decided to change careers and has been a Psychotherapist in private practice for over 15 years. Veteran holistic physician Dr. Bradley Nelson is one of the world's foremost experts on natural methods of achieving wellness, an international trainer and speaker, and author of the bestselling book "The Emotion Code." His new book is “The Body Code: Unlocking Your Body's Ability to Heal Itself”. Dr. Brad was raised in rural Montana and practically grew up on the back of a horse. As a child, Dr. Brad suffered two life-threatening illnesses – both of which were healed, not by traditional western medicine, but by separate alternative methods that tapped the power of energy. These experiences were to shape Dr. Brad's life going forward.In college, Dr. Brad studied computer programming and decided to pursue a career in business. But just six months before entering the MBA program at Brigham Young University, he had an epiphany. "I had asked God for guidance about my future. One night, I woke up and my mind was overflowing with thoughts of service to mankind and to humanity. The feelings were absolutely overwhelming, and as my head was filled with thoughts of healing and helping the world, a voice that was crystal clear spoke to me saying, 'This is a sacred calling.'"In response to this calling, Dr. Brad entered Life Chiropractic College West, in San Lorenzo, California in 1988. After graduating with honors, he began his practice as a holistic chiropractic physician and saw a wide variety of patients, many of whom had seemingly incurable conditions. "I remember my instructors saying that the brain is the most sophisticated computer in the known universe. And I thought, 'Wow.If the brain is really this super computer, how amazing it would be to access the data that is stored there to unlock keys to help these people heal.'"Through extensive study in disciplines such as ancient medical practices, psychology and quantum physics as well as the guidance of his own spiritual practice, Dr. Brad discovered that packets of unprocessed emotion were the basis of most conditions. "The body is essentially energy, and emotion is energy as well. When the energy of a negative emotion is trapped in the body, it impacts the body's self-healing system. These trapped emotions are almost like tumors. At the least, they can obstruct healing. At their worst, they actually create disease and physical problems."Using this knowledge, Dr. Brad designed processes that have helped thousands of people achieve greater wellness by learning to identify and release their trapped emotions. "I developed a method of accessing the intrinsic genius of my patients' subconscious minds.Once the trapped emotion is identified by the subconscious, we use the laws of energy and electro-magnetic fields and employ the Governing Meridian to release them. Though the process is based on some pretty sophisticated and subtle knowledge, we've made it so simple that even a child can do it." He calls the process The Emotion Code. It also is our physical and spiritual connection to the Earth itself. This chakra is focused on the emotion of peace.Sacral chakra- this chakra is in your deeper pelvic area and centers around who you are. It includes enjoyable parts of living like sexual freedom and creativity. This chakra is focused on creativity and discovery.Solar plexus chakra- this chakra is located around the intestinal region. This focuses on your self “warrior” or response to stressful situations.Heart chakra- this is obviously, in your heart area. This focuses on love and its byproducts.Throat chakra- this is in your throat (another shocking one I know). It is your means of how you express yourself both physically and internally. It helps you tell your own truth.Third eye chakra- this is between your eyebrows. This is an area of energy that helps you go past regular human thinking and explore the spiritual world.Crown chakra- top of your head. This is simply your consciousness. Btw – this first step is an absolute GAME CHANGER.Stay curious- open yourself up to areas of depth.Allow yourself to FEEL your pain.The last one is scary, I know, but necessary to heal.Kimberly mentions in the podcast that allowing yourself to feel will bring forward an emotion that you can reflect on.You must face these in order to continue making progress.A lot of the time these can also bring forward memories, which can be hard to work through.Allow yourself the time and space to deal with these potentially difficult emotions.Remember that this is a great way to make strides towards your future health.Healing the Inner SelfNow that we have dug up all this emotion, what do we do with it? Kimberly describes the importance of facing and working through your trauma head on in the podcast.If they aren't addressed, these problems will continue to root themselves in the physical body. “What we feel internally will always manifest externally.”Kimberly Lucas If we don't heal our mind we will never heal our gut.The good news is this is entirely feasible. There are a number of ways to make these internal shifts.Change the way you talk to yourselfOne quick way Kimberly suggests to start is to change the way we talk to ourselves. And then her physical health followed.What we feel internally always manifests externally.Kimberly LucasPhysical Symptoms and EmotionWe already know the connection between the nervous system and the gut, but what about emotional health?How does the quality of our mental health relate the the health of our gut?In the podcast Kimberly mentions chakras, which are basically energy centers within your body.These chakras are meant to flow through our body system, similar to a waterfall.But when emotions aren't properly dealt with these energy bodies can become stuck and create physical issues.Each chakra has their own location as well as core emotions that attach themselves there.Here are the 7 chakras, simplified:Root chakra- this chakra is located in the tailbone region and is important for foundational bodily functions like eating and sleeping. It also is our physical and spiritual connection to the Earth itself. This chakra is focused on the emotion of peace.Sacral chakra- this chakra is in your deeper pelvic area and centers around who you are. It includes enjoyable parts of living like sexual freedom and creativity. This chakra is focused on creativity and discovery.Solar plexus chakra- this chakra is located around the intestinal region. This focuses on your self “warrior” or response to stressful situations.Heart chakra- this is obviously, in your heart area. This focuses on love and its byproducts.Throat chakra- this is in your throat (another shocking one I know). It is your means of how you express yourself both physically and internally. It helps you tell your own truth.Third eye chakra- this is between your eyebrows. This is an area of energy that helps you go past regular human thinking and explore the spiritual world.Crown chakra- top of your head. This is simply your consciousness. Btw – this first step is an absolute GAME CHANGER.Stay curious- open yourself up to areas of depth.Allow yourself to FEEL your pain.The last one is scary, I know, but necessary to heal.Kimberly mentions in the podcast that allowing yourself to feel will bring forward an emotion that you can reflect on.You must face these in order to continue making progress.A lot of the time these can also bring forward memories, which can be hard to work through.Allow yourself the time and space to deal with these potentially difficult emotions.Remember that this is a great way to make strides towards your future health.Healing the Inner SelfNow that we have dug up all this emotion, what do we do with it? If they ask the wrong QUESTION, they get the wrong ANSWER, and if they ask the RIGHT question, they'll get the RIGHT answer. It's THAT simple.
