Conflict, anxiety, and fear arise in all human beings, including inside the church. Engaging with these struggles requires the redemptive work of Christ, who cultivates peacemakers and teammates in the gospel. To think about the good, to dwell on truths of God, to rejoice in this great salvation must be how the church moves forward in love, to make disciples and live freely in hope of our Savior's return.

Believers are to be servants of all. Do you need some inspiration? Look to Christ himself. Jesus is God and yet he is willing to be your servant. If anybody could have used their position to demand to be served, it was Jesus. But instead he said, I didn't come to be ministered to. I came to ministry spread.
Want to know the key, the secret to living a joyful life. . . live the opposite of what the world tells you. The world teaches you that you are the center of the universe. It's all about you, but you end up being extremely long. And what Paul is saying here is within the family, if you want to be great in God's kingdom, learn to be the servant of all.
Sometimes it isn't a better process. Okay, so you're telling me that the path of being a Christian and being a disciple, it's going to be painful. It's going to hurt. So what is the reward? What are the fruits that I'm going to get out of this? The fruits of righteousness are this love.
our highest attainment is not being able to just receive all of God's gifts and blessings and love. Your highest attainment, yes, is to receive that. But to find that there is also this opening through you so that you almost become really a channel through which, like a river, the love of God flows through you and touches the lives of those around you.
This week we dive into Philippians 1:19-26, where Paul reflects on the tension between life and death, and his desire to serve Christ in all circumstances. As we explore his powerful words, we'll discuss what it means to live with purpose, even in challenging times, and how we can remain focused on Christ's calling in our own lives. Join us as we unpack Paul's perspective on courage, hope, and the ultimate goal of glorifying God, whether in life or death.

TL;DR: Pastor Dunn's sermon on joy in Philippians emphasizes finding true joy in knowing Jesus, not happiness. He explores the themes of knowing Jesus, obedience, and serving others, drawing from Paul's letter to the Philippians. Dunn highlights the importance of balancing sacrifice and obedience in a way that reflects a deep relationship with God. He encourages the congregation to embrace their identity as servants in Christ and seek joy through genuine obedience to God's will.Support the Show.get more content at bolcf.org

This week in Philippians 2:14-18, Paul urges the church to not grumble and complain and we'll look at the roots of both. In our broken world, it's easy to do, but how can we fight the urge to grumble and complain and how do those two things affect our witness to the watching world? What does it mean to “hold fast to the word of life” and how might that have been encouraging to Paul, despite facing the prospect of his own death?
Philippians 4:4 encourages believers to rejoice always in the Lord. As we continues in our sermon series through Paul's letter to the Philippians, we come to chapter 1:18b-26 where Paul declares in verse 21 that for him, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
