Der Walliser Mitte-Staatsrat und Präsident der Kantonalen Bildungsdirektorinnen und Direktoren (EDK) ist enttäuscht. Dass der Kanton Zürich das Frühfranzösisch abschaffen will, gefährde die Willensnation Schweiz. Er ist dafür, dass der Bundesrat ein Machtwort spricht. Die Harmonisierung des Schulwesens sei in Gefahr, darum sei es richtig, dass sich der Bundesrat nun überlegt, einzugreifen, sagt Darbellay. Auch wenn ihm das Dreinreden aus Bern als Walliser grundsätzlich widerspreche. Die EDK werde versuchen, in der Sprachenstrategie einen Kompromiss zu finden. Darbellay stört sich am Begriff «Frühfranzösisch», das sei abschätzig. In der Westschweiz würde niemand von «Frühdeutsch» sprechen, da lerne man einfach Deutsch. Darbellay selber ist froh, dass er heute so gut Deutsch spricht. «Gott sei Dank haben mich meine Eltern mit Deutsch gefoltert», scherzt er. Er ist zu Gast bei Simone Hulliger.

Zum Schulstart starten die Oberwalliser schulen mit einem neuen digitalen Lehrmittel zur wichtigen Berufswahl. In diesem Podcast stellen die «Dicken» den Macher dahinter vor: Simon Schmid, halber Walliser, lebt aber heute in Züri. Und er nimmt sich mit seinem Geschäft der wichtigen Problematik der Berufswahl an. Das Lehrmittel soll Jugendlichen helfen sich im Dschungel der vielen Möglichkeiten zurecht zu finden. «Meine Geschichte ist die eines Helden, der hart auf dem Boden der Realität aufschlug.» Mit 23 Jahren verunfallte Kevin Lötscher schwer, die Karriere als Eishockeyprofi musste er aufgeben. Doch er fand den Weg zurück. Lötschers «goldene Hände» schossen an seiner ersten Eishockey-WM 2011 fantastische Tore. Alle Türen standen dem jungen Walliser offen. Doch nur wenige Tage später nimmt sein Leben eine tragische Wende: Er wird bei einem Autounfall lebensgefährlich verletzt. Nach dem Koma erwachte er «als 23 Jahre altes Baby». Er musste sich selbst neu erfinden, sein Leben komplett neu aufbauen – trotz aller Depressionen und Ängste. Alpenschlager Fetisch oder Alpenreggea Fee ?   Bin gerade so in einer Heino-Roger Whittaker und Nino de Angelo Phase und du meine Güte, laut KI bin ich in eine  Whistling-Zone geraten. Aber keine Sorge, wenn Du plötzlich Roger Whittaker magst, läuft in deinem nichts schief, sondern möglicherweise alles rund. Nur in einer völlig anderen Umlaufbahn. Du bist in einem Nostalgie-Modus meint KI.    Vielleicht sehnst du dich unbewusst nach Ruhe, Lagerfeuer-Romantik oder nach einem Zeitsprung in eine Ära, in der Albany noch als wertvoller Ohrwurm galt.  Du bist reifer geworden. Die feine Kunst des Pfeifens, der sanfte Bariton, das Gute Laune im Angesicht des Welt-Krise-Flair, das zieht Menschen mit einer gewissen Seelenreife an.  Du brauchst Heilung - kein Scherz, Whittaker Musik wirkt fast wie musikalischer Kamillentee - da darf man ruhig eintauchen, wenn einem die Welt zu laut wird.  DU hast einen unterschwelligen Hang zu britischem Konolialromantik, sein Akzent, seine Biografie, ( geboren in Kenia ) der musikalische Globalisierung, vielleicht steckt in dir ein musikalischer Welt Reisender.    Was jetzt? Erich ist dein Anker, ein Freund, ein Vorbild, jemand mit dem du unbeschwert sein konntest. Der Name alleine trägt diese alter Vergangenheit in sich. Beide sind auf einem Bauernhof aufgewachsen: Prisca Walliser, Hebamme sowie Paar- und Sexualtherapeutin, und Willi Näf, Satiriker und Autor. Beide leben teils im Appenzellerland und teils in der Region Basel. Bei Dani Fohrler geben sie Einblick in ihr Leben. Prisca Walliser, Hebamme, Paar- und Sexualtherapeutin (65) Prisca Walliser hat als Hebamme rund 300 Kinder auf die Welt gebracht. Ihre berufliche Laufbahn begann sie als Pflegefachfrau. Durch ihre Spezialisierung auf das Thema Sexualität wurde sie Sexualpädagogin, später bildete sie sich zur Paar- und Sexualtherapeutin weiter. Am Wochenende leben sie zusammen — ein Modell, das für beide perfekt passt. _________________________ Willi Näf, Satiriker und Autor (56) Mit dem Landwirtschaftsbetrieb seiner Eltern konnte Willi Näf wenig anfangen. Schon als Bub träumte er von einer Karriere als Journalist, entschied sich dann aber für eine Lehre als Koch. Immerhin: Während seiner Lehrzeit gab es ein prägendes Highlight — die Schnupperlehrtochter Rebekka tauchte auf. Amor's Pfeil traf ihn voll, und so verschlug es ihn später vom Appenzellerland ins Baselbiet. Die Liebe zu seiner Heimatregion ist geblieben. In Appenzell Ausserrhoden hat er bis heute eine zweite Bleibe — und wenn er gerade nicht dort ist, geben ihm seine Edelweisshemden ein Gefühl von Heimat und Geborgenheit. Klaus Petrus war früher Philosophieprofessor, heute berichtet er als Fotojournalist über Flucht, Armut und Ausgrenzung. Zudem ist er Co-Leiter des Strassenmagazins «Surprise». Yves Bossart spricht mit dem gebürtigen Walliser über die Macht von Bildern und Grenzen, über Migration und Menschlichkeit. Klaus Petrus begleitet seit Jahren Menschen auf der Flucht und berichtet aus dem Balkan, dem Nahen Osten und der Subsahara. Petrus fordert «radikale Menschlichkeit». Seine Fotografien und Texte möchten den einzelnen Menschen zeigen, keine Stereotypen, keine Vorurteile. Im Wallis aufgewachsen, als Kind einer Arbeiter- und Bauernfamilie, wird er bald zum Philosophieprofessor. Wenn etwas sicher ist in der Schweizer Politik, dann das: Bei der Mitte (die ehemals als CVP bekannt war) spielt immer mindestens ein Walliser (oder eine Walliserin) eine wichtige Rolle.Den aktuellen Part wird nun Philipp Matthias Bregy übernehmen. Der Nationalrat und Fraktionschef der Mitte ist der einzige Kandidat für die Nachfolge von Gerhard Pfister an der Spitze der Partei.Bregy gilt als leutseliger Politiker, als einer, der gerne gute Stimmung hat und an allen möglichen Veranstaltungen dabei ist.
