Blackburn joined me for a lovely chat about her new series and oh, my gravy does it sound amazing.  Look, if you love romance, it sounds like this one is infused with a double dose alongside the suspense, but come on. Blackburn Landry Hutton has spent three years rebuilding her life behind the secure gates of The Haven, an exclusive resort on the outskirts of Gossamer Falls, North Carolina. As the artist-in-residence, and with her pottery prized by The Haven's guests, Landry is finally ready to settle in permanently. She wants to give her daughter, Eliza, a safe home to grow up in and hires former Marine Callum Shaw to handle the construction. Cal grew up in Gossamer Falls and always knew he would someday join his family's business. He longs for a family of his own but has almost given up on that ever happening. Landry is funny, gifted, and everything Cal could ever want in a partner, but he vows to keep his distance. Landry has a daughter and a past. Cal has been down that road before and barely survived when the woman he loved left, taking her two sons with her. He can't bear to lose like that again. Before construction on the house can begin, Landry's pottery is destroyed in a suspicious fire. It soon becomes clear that Landry and Eliza are in grave danger--but because of whom? But, after losing one relationship, he is hesitant to try again. Learn more about Lynn and her books on her WEBSITE. Don't forget to follow her on BookBub and GoodReads. Y'all, I always have way too much fun with these romantic suspense-writing friends. Today is no exception. Lynette Eason, Lynn H. Blackburn, and Natalie Walters are authors whose books are those I preorder and read the moment they land on my Kindle or in my mailbox. In fact, I often end up with multiple copies. In this episode, I may have gushed about their latest novels, which happened to be the last books in each of their series. They claimed they were the hardest to write. I'm not sure I buy it because I adored the way the hero and heroine came together in each. We talked about what makes a great hero. The challenge about writing the last book in a series. And so much more. Enjoy — because we sure did! Connect with Lynette Eason Facebook | Instagram | Twitter Connect with Lynn H. Under Fire by Lynn H. Blackburn releases in just over a week, and whooee... does it sound intense! The final book in the Serve and Protect series takes us to an estate where her characters are supposed to be protecting the president, but with some baggage in one agent's past, can they do it?  I sure hope so! Listen in to learn more (including a sneak peek into her next series!) Note: links may be affiliate links that provide me with a small commission at no extra expense to you. This Book Promises to Be a Great Wrap-Up to the Series After more common assignments in cyber crime etc., Lynn H. Blackburn goes all out in Under Fire with a protection detail for the president. Time for the team to don the dark suits and shades, no?  Well, we'll see.  All I know is that Lynn said there was a lot of stuff that had to come together in this book.  Lynn's editor also happened to mention that this was her personal favorite couple.  Looks like a must-read to me.  Oh, and we got a super-fun peek into young Lynn as we discussed our mutual lack of interest in huge amounts of description. Somewhere in that discussion, we learn that in elementary school, Lynn liked to read Tom Clancy and could probably drive a submarine if forced to (Clancy really is highly detailed himself so I totally believe it). Under Fire is on a Baker Book House preorder deal with 40% off and free shipping!  If you missed the other books in the series, they are still 30% off and if you order them at the same time, you get the free shipping on all!  Just putting that out there!  Under Fire by Lynn H. Blackburn USSS Special Agent Zane Thacker has landed his dream assignment protecting the president of the United States. When the president plans a fundraiser at the exclusive estate of a political supporter in Raleigh, Zane is thrilled to be working again with Special Agent Tessa Reed, his best friend--and the woman he desperately wishes could be more. Though Tessa almost lost everything, she battled her demons and came out on the other side healthy and healed. But when her role as the liaison between the Raleigh office and the president's protective detail wrenches her past back into the present, her greatest failure threatens to come to light. Zane refuses to let Tessa go through this alone. But can he stand by the woman he loves and protect the president from a mounting threat at the same time? Sparks fly as award-winning romantic suspense writer Lynn H. Blackburn closes out her Defend and Protect series with this explosive tale of secrets kept, lies exposed, and relationships restored. Episode 3 is here and my conversation is with Lynn H. Blackburn who is an incredibly talented Christian Fiction author as well as a wife and a Mom to three kids, 1 of which has special needs. During our talk, Lynn gives us window into what it looks like for her to trust God with her life, her children and her calling.  As I started really praying through and dreaming about what the Lord would have for this podcast, I thought a lot about how we are all gifted with stories and gifted with languages to tell those stories in whatever spheres of influence we live in and I wanted to explore the varied ways in how God uses creative people to do this work. And I feel like my conversation Lynn is the perfect place for us to really go deeper into unpacking that. Lynn pulls back the veil for us on what it is like to use her God given creativity and imagination in order to bring Him glory, invite people to know Him more and how God uses that to impact the Kingdom.  There’s a little bit of something for everyone in this episode and I can’t wait for you to hear it!
