Read or Dead is a bi-weekly show dedicated to the worlds of mystery and thriller literature.
I recently discovered The Read or Dead podcast about two weeks ago and I have been completely hooked ever since. As a fan of mystery and thriller genres, it's great to finally find a book review podcast that focuses specifically on these genres. The hosts, Katie and Nusrah, are knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and passionate about the books they discuss. Their recommendations have introduced me to many great mystery writers that I hadn't heard of before. Overall, this podcast has quickly become one of my favorites and my TBR list is growing exponentially because of it.
One of the best aspects of The Read or Dead podcast is the hosts' deep knowledge and love for mysteries and thrillers. They provide insightful commentary on the books they review and offer interesting perspectives on various subgenres within the mystery genre. It's clear that they have done their research and are well-informed about the latest releases and trends in the genre. They also have a great sense of humor which makes listening to them very enjoyable.
Another great aspect of this podcast is its diversity in terms of the types of mysteries discussed. From cozy mysteries to dark thrillers to fantasy mysteries, they cover a wide range of subgenres within the larger mystery genre. This ensures that there is something for everyone and allows listeners to discover new books and authors that they may not have come across otherwise.
However, there is one tiny aspect that some listeners may find annoying - Katie's repetitive use of certain phrases like "juices flowing." While this may be a minor issue, it can become noticeable after a while and distract from the overall enjoyment of the podcast.
In conclusion, The Read or Dead podcast is an absolute delight for fans of mystery and thriller novels. The hosts' enthusiasm, knowledge, and insightful reviews make every episode engaging and informative. Whether you're already a fan of the genre or just starting to dip your toes into mysteries, this podcast provides excellent recommendations that will keep you entertained and your TBR list growing.
