In this extra special episode, the boys are joined by Grant Hummer and Matt Liston, two of Ethereum's most original gangsters, to discuss the blockchain's complicated past, its mistakes and pitfalls, and what the future might hold for our favorite L1. Matt, a cofounder of Augur and Gnosis, previously worked for the Ethereum foundation, while Grant founded San Francisco's oldest Ethereum developer meetup. Assisted by your handsome co-hosts, our guests also explore the future of blockchain on Urbit, the pitfalls of inadequate leadership, startup pessimism, how to found a crypto religion, and the metaphysical ecstasy of blockchain contemplation. The boys are back from Eastern Illinois after ending up in a ditch and going home without hot dogs. We get into EIU, an interesting article on Mitch Trubisky that might have some of us buying back in, an interview with 'Catching Hell' Producer Matt Liston, if we like or don't like the Astros scandal, the Blackhawks possibly leaking news, and what we're most excited to watch on Disney+.
About a month ago, I sat down with Matt Liston of Gleba & Associates. (I have been busy with travelling for weddings and my own honeymoon.) He is an engineer by training, turned financial planner who is big on helping people achieve their financial and career goals. In addition to working with clients, he started a networking club for local business owners to help each other. In today's podcast, Matt talks about behavior, money, and investing.
Matt Liston, CSO at Gnosis, explains Gnosis in brief: “Gnosis is a modular, decentralized prediction market platform built on Ethereum.” What that means is that there's a base set of smart contracts both for market creation settlements, and oracles that can plug into those markets. The base protocol is meant to support and enable prediction applications. Live now, people have been able to predict using Gnosis with real Ethereum since Frontier. This could be the most irritating question I had about Gnosis, but I asked Liston anyway. “What's the difference between Augur and Gnosis?” “I get that a lot,” says Liston. There's a misconception that they're the same, he explains, but really, their technical and business approaches vary wildly. Tune in to learn more about Gnosis. Be sure to review, and subscribe, and if you can, consider donating some Bitcoin to the podcast. Every little bit helps us create more great content like this.

Matt Liston of the Gnosis prediction market platform discusses the upcoming crowdsale and the structure of the DAO which will manage it's development. When not DAO-whispering he composes algorithmic music and dreams of a future Skynet-on-a-blockchain. Ethereum is part of a movement in tech to create a decentralized infrastructure that will rely on an uncontrolled network of computers to be the arbiter between them, rather than a central service or agency. Its called a trustless system. We prefer...Skynet. Welcome to an oasis of futures – a safe place for extreme ideas.
Phil Whelans is joined by Phil Nice and Matt Liston to stage a timely intervention live on air for Jim Grant. It seems Jim's substance abuse and hooligan behavior can only be stopped with the help of his favorite player in the world. Theres also a look at the surprisingly boring 4-1 romp and look forward to Wigan.
Phil Whelans and Jim Grant are joined by Matt Liston to discuss the Southampton game and the games coming up against Blackpool and Crystal Palace
