My guest is Daniel Keller, an artist whose work and research has inspired me for over a decade. We discuss tech monopolies and their cozy relationship to state power, the artificial intelligence race, the chips war, network states and geopolitical competition between the US and China. These are the defining conflicts of the 21st century.

Is Decentralized Cloud Infrastructure the Killer dApp for Web3? The transition from web2 to web3 seems like a monumental shift for many organizations and although Amazon seemed to replace Radio Shack very quickly, many companies are still struggling to build the infrastructure needed to enter the world of decentralization. Well that is where our next guest comes in Daniel Keller, who is the co-founder of Flux, a decentralized cloud infrastructure, sat down with Ian Andrews (Chief Marketing Officer, Chainalysis) and explained how Flux may be the Amazon AWS of the blockchain. Daniel explains the difference between centralized and decentralized cloud infrastructure and how companies are using his technology for a wide range of tasks, from setting up a word press site to facilitating crypto and NFT transactions. Daniel emphasizes the need to keep cloud infrastructure affordable and explains why Flux moved away from their privacy centric origins. Minute-by-minute episode breakdown (2:35) – What is Flux and why is this decentralized cloud infrastructure being called the “aws on the blockchain” (5:25) – Decentralized vs. Centralized cloud service providers (13:35) – What can be run on Flux's decentralized cloud infrastructure? In this week’s ABCA Podcast we talk about all things youth baseball with ABCA Youth & Dave Keilitz Ethics Award Committee member and former college pitching coach, Daniel Keller. Coach Keller is an 18-year continuous ABCA member and has spent over 22 years coaching pitchers. His last stop collegiately was at Cypress Community College. His path has taken him all over the baseball landscape as a coach, private instructor, and baseball entrepreneur. He started the Dugout Captain app and is now working on the Mojo app which just teamed up with Major League Baseball to provide coaching resources to the Boys and Girls club. This episode is a discussion on what we need to do to help youth baseball. Coach Keller is coaching his 9-year-old son now, so we talk about some of the things he has learned. There is a lot of positive energy in this one. We both believe that we need to build passion and love for the game from the bottom up which will help high school, college, and professional baseball. We also go into the nomination process for the ABCA Dave Keilitz Ethics Award. The ABCA Podcast is presented by Netting Pros. Netting Professionals are improving programs one facility at a time, specializing in the design, fabrication and installation of custom netting for backstops, batting cages, dugouts, bp screens and ball carts.

Choose Your Future, 2021, is part of KW Digital: Open Secret, 16 July - 31 December. joshuacitarella.com/chooseyourfuture/ www.kw-berlin.de/en/open-secret/ In 2021, I commissioned a group of artists and memers to write short wiki-style descriptions of fantastical future scenarios. Writers were instructed to copy/paste existing wikipedia entries and “play mad libs” with the nouns and dates. Drawing on movements from the past, these short stories recombine political history to anticipate long tail ideologies and factions that may soon emerge. Choose Your Future takes the hyperbolic imaginings of young people, raised on the internet, and puts their words directly into the mouths of content creators. In this way, the project emulates the signal amplification that occurs through social media, as radical takes move from the anonymous fringe into the verified mainstream. Is this the multi-faceted analysis of the Rand Corporation? Or is it a teenage meme poster who thinks it would be cool if these political keywords combined? I'm interested in the point where those spheres overlap. This project combines the creative efforts of some of the artists, memers and content creators that have most inspired me over the past few years. Information technologies are supposed to increase our access to knowledge, making the world more legible, while undermining ignorance and superstition. But sometimes the feeling prevails that we have entered a new dark age of black boxes, projections, and paranoia. Techno-culture is obsessed with the unseen, the inaccessible, the known-unknown. Open Secret pursues things that are obscured–through artistic commissions, a suite of essays by leading thinkers, and an intensive public program dedicated to critical reappraisal of the digital infrastructures that organize civic life. With new contributions released on a monthly basis, the Open Secret website will bring together art, technology, politics, and new patterns of exchange. Curators: Nadim Samman, curator digital sphere, in collaboration with Katja Zeidler, head of education & mediation
