In this episode, the first of a two-parter, Daniel tells Jack all about the new 25 Point Program of the National Justice Party, the latest venture from Mike Enoch and the Right Stuff rabble, and their hope of peeling away support from disaffected leftists using 'Third Position' rhetoric. Daniel starts going through the program point-by-point, analysing its hypocrisies and contradictions. The 'left' rhetoric is exposed by comparison with genuine left ideas and principles. To be continued... soon. Content Warnings. Unlocking Creativity Most of us are in situations where we regularly face challenges that require creative approaches. Yet here’s an interesting dynamic that I’ve observed with organizations and teams. Managers often say that they want their teams to be creative--to think outside the box--so to speak. Yet when the creative ideas are presented, the leaders effectively shut them down. We want innovation but we don’t. That’s kind of weird, right? We're joined again today by one of my favorite guests, Mike Roberto. Mike's most recent book is entitled Unlocking Creativity, and, in typical Mike Roberto fashion, it's packed with evidence-based insights that are entertaining to read. Learn more about Mike at his very active blog at http://michael-roberto.blogspot.com/. Also, check out our previous discussions with Mike: Episode 14, about his book Know What You Don't Know. Episode 61, about becoming a better problem finder. Episode 99, about making better decisions. Let's Stay In Touch! I hear from listeners almost every day and I love it! How about you and I connect on LinkedIn? Go to https://PeopleAndProjectsPodcast.com/LinkedIn and send me an invite! Also, if you know of a group at your organization that has an upcoming large group gathering and uses outside speakers, let them know about the podcast! I'd love to work with them to help improve their ability to lead and deliver. Learn more at https://i-leadonline.com/keynotes. Thanks! Mike Boxhall passed away on April 10, 2019, leaving behind a worldwide cohort of adoring students. His powerful presence and trust in the intelligence of creation inspired many to find new depths of freedom within themselves. He was a fervent champion of the heart and cautious critic of the intellect, encouraging all of us in the therapeutic arts to trust the feminine principle and inherent knowing that is found in the body. This episode features three selections from Mike's audiobook "The Empty Chair: The Teaching, not the T-Shirt." Included amongst these is a brief biography. The complete audiobook is available for purchase here: https://store.cdbaby.com/cd/mikeboxhall Mike's website: http://www.stillness.co.uk Previous interviews with Mike: Episode 32 Episode 53
In the final episode of season 1 of Eco Tones, Pat reunites with guest co-host Mike (Episode 5, Why Do Zebras Have Stripes?) to talk about social networks and behavioral studies of Anubis baboons in Laikipia, Kenya. With the help of Jessica Gunson, Molly McEntee, and Leah Worthington from the Uaso Ngiro Baboon Project, we learn about the day-to-day life of a baboon researcher, and the steps that they take to better understand the social dynamics of a baboon troop! Why is that baboon scratching the other baboon? Weren't those two with different partners yesterday? Jeez, how much polyamory happens in a troop? And why are we WATCHING it? Neither Mike nor Pat are especially skilled in any way to actually understand this topic, but we do our best to fall upwards. Episode 7 concludes our first season of Eco Tones, but we'll be back in the fall with more episodes, new talent, and and interesting discussions! In the meantime, check out the lab's ongoing work at www.thepalmerlab.com and www.savannaecology.com, and check out our previous episodes on iTunes and Soundcloud. Past guest host Mike (Episode 11 - E3 2016) returns to help cover for the absence of Tony. Not that Dennis couldn't monologue his way through, there's just the question of alienating all the listeners. As such, despite the madness Tony's absence entails, Episode 17 actually follows the typical structure with all three gaming categories represented. Pinball: This segment starts with a brief mention of the clearcoat (aka "ghosting") issues that have been ongoing on several Stern Pinball machines. The bulk of the pinball talk is about Stern's announced Batman 66 game, their first pin to replace the DMD with LCD. Video Games: Thanks to a free-to-play weekend, Mike and Dennis are able to touch on last episode's big video game talk: Overwatch. Outside of this, Mike and Dennis put time into two pre-release iterations of a couple upcoming major shooters. The first such discussion is regarding Titanfall 2 and its technical test. The second, more significant, discussion revolves around the Battlefield 1 beta. Tabletop: Pandemic, a cooperative board game, has been mentioned several times on past episodes. Tony, however, has always prevented the full truth from being exposed. Mike and Dennis pull back the veil on one of the most devious tabletop games ever designed, and explain why it blows chunks.
