Mike Schopp and The Bulldog talk about a helmet debate they saw on twitter and they couldn't disagree with the tweet more!
Santino Ferrucci has been on a roll lately. Another great finish at the Indianapolis 500 (5th), and his first real podium* at Detroit (2nd) have kept him in the championship points hunt again this year. Ferrucci is a fun-loving guy and really enjoys his racing with AJ Foyt. This year he has a new teammate in the highly-touted David Malukas. We caught up with Santino at The Thermal Club where he showed us another one of his helmet designs. Compared to last year's Tom and Jerry cartoon themed lid, this one is much more serious and business-like. He goes into the details of what he likes best about this new design. But don't worry, there will be more to come. Enjoy!NOTE: After the Detroit race, Ferrucci's car was found to be out of compliance in regards to driver's weight ballast. According to the series, “During post-race inspection of car No. 14, INDYCAR discovered the driver ballast needed to bring the combined weight of the driver and driver ballast to 185 pounds was underweight and not within the driver ballast weight tolerance of 0.00 to + 1.00 pounds. However, also during inspection, the series found the weight of car No. 14, itself, was 10 pounds over the minimum weight for road and street circuits of 1,785 pounds and competed over the minimum weight requirement on-track.”* I say “real podium” because even though he finished third at Indy in 2023, there is no podium there, only the winner's circle.
Though evidence dictates much of what we do as emergency medical providers, some areas remain open to debate: How are we justifying stroke ambulances, CCT speciality teams, AHA guidelines, and our choice of crystalloids? How are we justifying what professionals are allowed to post on social media? And do we agree with the currently accepted norms? Who better to join us in this discussion than Mike Carunchio of The World's Okayest Medic Podcast. Diving into these and other controversial topics, we see if our two platforms can come to a consensus in a randomized, uncontrolled conversation. *Strong opinions were involved in this production. Dan Sindel is truly a “unique” and “one of a kind” artist like no other out there in music land. Dan's songwriting features a multi-layered approach to recording guitars and vocals that integrates myriads of styles and genres into a hard rocking experience streamlined for mass appeal. Unpopular Music for Popular People Vol.1 is Dan's debut (5 song) EP and features the radio friendly tracks; STEPPING STONE, RULE THE WORLD and ALL DUE REPSECT as well as two “6 minute deep cut” tracks; EDGE OF ETERNITY and SAY GOODBYE which would satisfy anyone with a love for classic rock /progressive hard rock/heavy metal with their technical rhythmic changes, orchestrated guitars and solid vocal production. The Los Angeles based singer/songwriter/guitarist takes his musical upbringing of 60's and 70's pop songs and classic rock, 80's-90's metal and all things current and mixes up slightly atypical artists (think: Alice in Chains meet The Byrds or perhaps the aggression of Metallica infused with Blue Oyster Cult, The BEATLES or ELO) to create those unique melodies and harmonies. Dan says, “To me, the best parts of a song are the hooks and melodies, whether vocal or instrumental they have to catch the listener's ear and be extraordinarily memorable.”As a survivor of the legendary 80's LA Heavy Metal scene, Dan has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the rock and metal music world (ACCEPT, SAXON, KING DIAMOND, RACER X, WENDY O. WILLIAMS, ARMORED SAINT, METAL CHURCH, FLOTSAM & JETSAM, GRIM REAPER, HED-PE, MUSHROOMHEAD and HELMET being but a few) but he'd rather not be looked at as “just a metal guy” as he refuses to be typecast and limited by musical genre.“Dan states: “It is the responsibility of a true artist to find his own voice and represent the thoughts and feelings that one has and to share it in a way that hopefully does not simply mirror someone else's work, to capture the spirit and intent of the artists vision is the essence of art itself.”Unpopular Music for Popular People Vol.1 is absolute proof that bringing influences from several different musical genres can co-exist in one finely tuned package and is available on all popular streaming platforms as well as his accompaniment videos on Youtube.APPLE MUSIC: https://music.apple.com/us/artist/dan-sindel/261257155SPOTIFY: https://open.spotify.com/artist/12JOM4gAm4nuaXD8GXLW3xAMAZON: https://www.amazon.com/music/player/artists/B0019DMEM4/dan-sindelYOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/@halipinoWWW: http://dansindel.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.

Hour 1 with Joe Starkey: It's the first day of Steelers mandatory minicamp. Aaron Rodgers is here. T.J. Watt is not. Watt is going to want a Myles Garrett contract and Joe thinks Watt wants to one-up Garrett. We hear from Steelers fans on T.J. Watt. Would T.J. Watt be ok not being a one-helmet guy? Austin thinks he'd be more willing to leave than Cam Heyward.
There is a lot of risk for the Steelers taking Aaron Rodgers as QB1. The idea of a one-helmet guy goes out the window when the Steelers don't think you can play anymore. Joe thinks the Steelers pushed out Troy Polamalu, Hines Ward, and Ben Roethlisberger out before they wanted to retire and were willing to leave open the possibility the first two would go elsewhere. Would T.J. Watt be ok not being a one-helmet guy?

Ephesians 6:16-17 — What does it mean to put on the whole armor of God? In this sermon on Ephesians 6:16–17 titled “The Shield, Helmet, and Sword,” Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones continues his exploration of what the apostle Paul calls the armor of God. Scripture tells the Christian to be strong in the Lord, and Dr. Lloyd-Jones maintains that the strength the Lord provides for His people is in putting on the armor of God, piece by piece with prayer. Christians need every piece of armor God provides, beginning with the integument and continuing with further protection. Christians add faith to their defense so as to quench the enflaming thoughts and ideas of the enemy—the shield. This is the capacity to take particular truths from God's word and apply them appropriately. Then they think on their final salvation and deliverance from sin—the helmet. This is the Christian's blessed hope and certainty in complete victory. Finally, they take up the ultimate defensive protection in the Spirit—the sword. God provides His word to defend against spiritual warfare in hand-to-hand combat. If it comes to such a point, they lean upon the phrase, “the Bible tells me so.” This completes the full armor of God.

Return To Dust embodies the sound of shedding the weight of the past while embracing the promise of tomorrow. The Los Angeles-based quartet—Matty Bielawski [guitar, vocals], Graham Stanush [bass, vocals], Sebastian Gonzalez [guitar], and London Hudson [drums]— brings a fresh perspective to alternative rock. Their music fuses powerful harmonies, fuzz-laden riffs, and seismic grooves, fueled by the raw energy of four Gen Z friends jamming in a garage. What may seem like a traditional approach on paper feels like an act of rebellion today, rippling towards a real turn of the tide. As the story goes, the band settled in Los Angeles to record with producer Jim Kaufman [Everclear, Danny Worsnop, Night Riots, Helmet]. 2024 saw them unveil their independent self-titled full-length debut, Return To Dust, featuring single “Belly Up” which surged online, organically gathering over 2 million Spotify streams. Distorted Sound hailed it as “a grungy, punky thrill ride,” while Revolver applauded the group's “Alice In Chains-inspired form of modern-day grunge.” In the aftermath, they lit up the stages at major festivals like Inkarceration, Welcome To Rockville, and Sonic Temple, while also joining rock legends Chevelle and Sevendust as support on their respective tours. Signing to LAVA Records/Republic Records with more music on the horizon, the group is poised to stand at the forefront of the next generation of rock music.

When your CFI asks for your name and you respond with "standby" – you're experiencing what pilots call a helmet fire. In this episode, Ben, Brian, and Ted dive into the phenomenon of task saturation that affects pilots at every level, from Ben's instrument approach adventures where he made what sounded like "Charlie Brown's teacher" over the radio, to Ted's coastal flight where turning back was the smartest option. The crew shares practical strategies for extinguishing these cognitive infernos: slowing down both mentally and physically, asking for delay vectors, and constantly thinking ahead by asking "what are the next two things?" They discuss how flying with other pilots can increase pressure, why preparation is critical, and how everyone from students to seasoned pilots can recover when they fall behind the airplane. Plus, updates on the upcoming T82 fly-in (80 attendees, 39 aircraft!), community milestone celebrations, and a reminder that, as Wendell Geek says, "helmet fires are like exercise – they suck in the moment, but in the long run they make you stronger."Mentioned on the show:* VLD - Valdosta Georgia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valdosta_Regional_Airport* The Underbelly Project: https://viralart.vandalog.com/read/chapter/the-underbelly-project/* The Towering Inferno: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Towering_Inferno* M02 - Dickson County Airport, Tenn: https://www.airnav.com/airport/M02* the Dixie Dregs: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dixie_Dregs* L.P. Have you ever had an idea that in your mind sounds great, but in reality, the execution doesn't really pan out successfully? I think we've all been there. Take out an ingredient in a recipe, and exchange it for what you think would be an upgrade…turns out to be the most vile thing you've ever tasted. A shortcut that makes sense in your head, but ends up adding double the time and three times the frustration. Or how about a gentleman at the beginning of WWI that had an incredibly innovative idea for a new weapon…the difference being that from the onset, any outsider on planet earth would be able to tell that this is not a good idea at all. But let's talk about that idea, let's put our heads together and see if we can analyze this till our heads hurt, and then once the headache comes on, drink some more coffee. Welcome to the MC Podcast, everyone, let's get started.Go to The Missing Chapter Podcast website for more information, previous episodes, and professional development opportunities!

By Bob Orosz - Hope is one of those emotive feelings that can lift a person from despair, helplessness and relieve stress. Armor of God podcast for KidsArmor of God podcast for childrenAll Things Must Be Done in Order”Doctrine and Covenants 27–28The armor of god is what this episode mainly focuses on. Revelation was still a relatively new concept for the Saints as the Restoration continued to unfold. Early Church members knew that the Prophet Joseph Smith could receive revelation for the Church. But could others? Questions like this became critical when Hiram Page, one of the Eight Witnesses of the gold plates, believed he had received revelations for the Church. Many faithful Saints believed that these revelations were from God. The Lord responded by teaching that in His Church “all things must be done in order” (Doctrine and Covenants 28:13). This week we will learn this story and learn that only the prophet can receive revelation for the church. The scriptures teach that we should put on the “whole armor” of God (see Ephesians 6:11–18 and D&C 27:15–18). When we study the scriptures and pray, it's like we put on armor that helps keep us safe.Helmet of SalvationA helmet protects the head. We keep our mind safe when we follow Jesus and do what He wants us to do.Shield of FaithFaith in Jesus Christ is like a shield of protection. When we believe in Jesus and try to be like Him, we can make good choices, even when things are hard.Breastplate of RighteousnessThe breastplate protects the heart. When we love God with all our heart, we try to keep His commandments. We are blessed when we choose the right.Etc. You're listening to Come Follow Me Kids! A Come Follow Me Podcast.
