Luke provides no sequel to Acts, but we know from Church history and scriptural references that Paul was acquitted by Emperor Nero. This allowed Paul to embark on his 4th Missionary Journey to Spain. We can learn from Paul's life important elements to growth and expansion. Even while in confinement under house arrest, Paul remained productive, he had a plan of action for the future and he lived dedicated to his mission to the very end.

Paul and Silas visited Thessalonica as a part of the 2nd Missionary Journey. As was their custom, they first went to the synagogue to preach from the Old Testament that Jesus is the Christ. Many believed, but many did not. Those that did not became jealous and caused such trouble for the Christians in Thessalonica that Paul and Silas left more quickly than they would have liked. In Berea, the Word was received with great joy, but the jealous Thessalonian Jews followed Paul and chased him away from there as well. Paul's brief ministry among the Thessalonians sets the stage for the two letters he writes back to them only a short time later.  Rev. Although Paul's time in Thessalonica was brief, he had great affection for the Christians there. His two letters to the Thessalonians show us the joy that God gives us together in the Church and encourage us to live faithfully in expectation of Jesus' coming on the Last Day.  Sharper Iron, hosted by Rev. Timothy Appel, looks at the text of Holy Scripture both in its broad context and its narrow detail, all for the sake of proclaiming Christ crucified and risen for sinners. As Christians, we are called to love others. The world has somewhat distorted the definition of love to mean accept, affirm, or make others comfortable. Today, Pastor Bill teaches that truly loving others means that… in his words, “There is a time to go Batman on somebody.” When you truly love someone, you desire to see them succeed and grow, and not just stay stuck in their sins. To be a Christian is to be an ambassador for Christ, and to be an ambassador is to make His Word known.

In today's message, Pastor Bill teaches that, in the same way, you can either serve people for God or serve people to God. It's not just the actions you do, but the heart behind them.
