In this episode, Eric and Kevin Mahoney discuss:The benefits of thoroughly documenting service hoursEnsuring consistency in delivering value Exercising caution when benchmarking servicesEngaging in holistic retirement planningKey Takeaways:Thoroughly documenting the time and effort spent servicing each client is an important process for advisors who want to truly justify their fees, enhance client retention, and identify both high and low-value engagements.Establishing a fiduciary training program, detailed service plans, and accountability measures is essential to ensure advisors consistently deliver value commensurate with their fees.Benchmarking services and fees against industry standards is vital, but advisors must exercise caution in data input to avoid erroneous conclusions regarding fee competitiveness.Advisors should engage in holistic retirement planning, including employee education, to succeed in the industry, while committees must scrutinize advisors' processes and pricing to meet fiduciary obligations.“If all you're speaking to is investments. You're going to struggle. You need to talk to the plan holistically. You need to talk to employee education. And you have to be committed to the best interest of the participants. And if you do that, I think there's staggering upside potential.” - Kevin MahoneyConnect with Kevin Mahoney:Website: https://www.raymondjames.com/mahoneygroupadvisors/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kevinmahoneytmg/ Connect with Eric Dyson: Website: https://90northllc.com/Phone: 940-248-4800Email: contact@90northllc.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/401kguy/ The information and content of this podcast is general in nature and is provided solely for educational and informational purposes. In this episode, Billy Humphrey unpacks the seven key marks of the church at Antioch from Acts 13. Discover how this Spirit-led, mission-sending church became a model for believers today and what it means to walk in the same calling.
The Antioch Church was the most healthy church described in the New Testament. We are to learn what sets this church apart from the rest and put into place those things that made the Antioch Church what it was.

Describe a relationship with a friend or mento who has impacted the way you follow Jesus. Describe a relationship with a friend who is of a different generation, ethnic background, who speaks a different language, or is from a different culture who has impacted the way you see diversity in the Body of Christ. FOUR | In Antioch, they were looking for God's called, not just the charismatic. What is a gift God has given you that is often overlooked by many, but still seems to be making a difference in people's lives as you share it with them? Are you ever discouraged in your gifts because you don't feel like they are recognized? If so, explain. What are the overlooked gifts in the lives of people around you that you could foster and encourage them to step into? How could you encourage them? FIVE | In Antioch, the church was committed to sending, not staying. If you could be sent out as a missionary from your church, where do you think you would be sent? (Within the church? Within the neighborhood? Beyond?) If that were to happen, how would you need your church family to be praying for you? SIX | In Antioch, the church was living in exile, not its own empire. In what ways do you most feel like you're living in a world you don't belong to? In what ways might you reimagine the ways you're living out your faith because our culture is changing so quickly? In what ways do you imagine that God may be doing something new through your life and through the life of South Everett Foursquare this year?

How do you want to transform us? What is your invitation to join you in your work this year? ONE | In Antioch, the church's life was oriented around the presence, not the platform. What are the platforms we have in our lives presently What places and/or resources are available to us by which we can broadcast thoughts, messages and ideas? How closely is our sense of self-worth connected to the size and scope of our platform? In what ways are you currently experiencing the private presence of God in your life? When Jesus asks you, what do you love about my private presence, what do you say to Him? TWO | In Antioch, the church was filled with the prophetic, not the performance. How might you be/could you be operating as a prophetic voice? How do you see South Everett operating as a prophetic voice on Sunday and during the throughout the week? Are there ways you may be striving to gain the attention of others, through self-driven performance?

Your words were found and I ate them
“What if all this was so that your life would create a context for someone else to come into his destiny? Would you still do it?” - @yeohjo In the final week of “Caught up in God's story” series, we had the honour of having Josh Yeoh, who shared his journey of how God gave him a word to sow seeds of prayer movement into the local church, yet challenged and remade him into a man that will lay down his dreams and step away from self-actualisation and help others come into their destinies. Sharing from the relationship of Jonathan and David, Barnabas and Paul, where the former had godly contentment in taking the backseat and fully investing in the interest and the assignment of the latter, brought God's purpose to pass and the Antioch Church was established. He left us with this question: Who are the people, ‘David's' and ‘Pauls' in our lives that we would step aside to, give our resources, time and energy and lay down our lives for so we could build them up for success? Ultimately, the Antioch church can only be build through: 1. A diverse body with different gifts and talents and we are not to dismiss those whom we think are less. 2. A culture of fasting and praying, where we are filled with a holy discontent and be awakened to things in God we would otherwise go without. 3. Identities found not in the sending but in being set apart for the Lord. As we close this sermon series, may we pray for the desire to be set apart for His kingdom and live out God's story in our lives.
While Paul and Barnabas are spending time in Antioch, a group of men come from Judea and begin telling the gentiles they must be circumcised in order to be saved. This causes a large debate, and the Antioch Church sends Paul and Barnabas to Jerusalem to consult the Apostles and the Elders there.

Traditionally, refugees from around the world who are accepted into the United States receive aid from one of a handful of refugee resettlement agencies. But a new approach is aimed at helping create more capacity to better support refugees in American communities and to help more of them escape violence and persecution in their countries of origin. Last year, Amy Kasari, a pastor at the Antioch Church in Bend, heard a radio story about how local sponsor groups were needed to welcome families into specific communities for a program called Welcome Corps. She said she immediately went to work putting together a local team of volunteers at her church. It took about a year of preparation, but earlier this year, she and other members of the sponsor group welcomed Maria Del Carmen Chaparro, her husband and two of their three adult children, who escaped violence in Colombia. Kasari and Del Carmen Chaparro join us to talk about the process of preparing for and settling into a new community. Una Bilic also joins us to share more about how this new approach is working around the country and what she sees as the impact of Welcome Corps now and in the future.
But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned. — Galatians 2:11 CALL OUT: Call out today to Joey Johnson from Woodbury, MN, who is leading a group using our easy-to-use resource 30 Men Who Lived With Conviction. Antioch is an essential city during Paul's time. Today, this is Antakiya, located in Turkey. However, during the Roman Empire, Antioch was the third largest city in the empire, with about half a million people. It was the capital city of Syria and was known as the "Rome of the East,” furnished with theaters, aqueducts, public baths, a great basilica, and a famous colonnaded main street adorned with marble pavement and vaulted stone roofs. Antioch was also ground zero for Paul and his apostolic ministry to the Gentiles. It played a crucial role in Paul's ministry for several reasons. First, it served as a base for his missionary journeys, launching him into diverse regions with the gospel message. Second, its cosmopolitan nature made it an ideal location for financially supporting the advancement of the Gospel to Jews and Gentiles. Third, the Antioch church's early acceptance of Gentile believers affirmed Paul's mission as the apostle to the Gentiles. Fourth, the church is also willing to wrestle with theological issues, leading to the Jerusalem Council's decision affirming salvation by grace through faith. Fifth, Paul's collaborative efforts with Antioch's leaders, such as Barnabas and Silas, strengthened his ministry and provided mutual support. Overall, the Antioch church served as a pivotal "northern hub" for the Gospel to the Roman Empire. Knowing this context, Peter visits Antioch, and we will explore the confrontation here in the coming verses. For now, I would like you to take note of the moment here. Peter, the man identified as a "pillar" of the Jerusalem Church, meets with Paul, the Antioch Church's pillar. The setup here sounds like a weigh-in between two prize fighters coming face-to-face with each other. But remember, these two men don't hate each other; they are brothers challenging one another for the purpose and preservation of the Gospel. When believers love one another, love the Gospel truth, and love Jesus, they know how to do this. They know how to get in each other's faces. They know when to do it, how to do it, and why they do it. Paul does it here because he knows that if it is left unaddressed, it will harm the Gospel. Clearly, it did because Paul had to deal with the issue again by writing this letter. Which leads us to a critical application. If you know a believer doing something wrong and needs to be corrected, why aren't you doing or saying something about it? If you don't, the issue could get so out of hand that it might become irreconcilable. #GospelPreservation #BrotherlyConfrontation #ChurchLeadership #AccountabilityMatters #PaulandPeter ASK THIS: Reflect on a time when you witnessed a fellow believer engaging in behavior contrary to the Gospel. Did you address it, and if not, what held you back? How can you approach similar situations differently in the future? Consider the importance of accountability in your Christian community. How can you cultivate an environment where loving confrontation is embraced for the sake of preserving the truth of the Gospel? DO THIS: Who do you need to confront? PRAY THIS: Lord, grant me the courage and wisdom to lovingly confront my brothers and sisters in Christ when their actions stray from Your truth, knowing that by doing so, we can uphold the integrity of the Gospel and strengthen our bonds as a community. Help me to always prioritize the preservation of Your Word above personal comfort or convenience. Amen. PLAY THIS: God Help Me.

The Holy Spirit has given us the Antioch Church model for a purpose. Generosity was the hallmark of the Antioch Church. The more generous they were, the more dynamic they became! People who give sacrificially to strengthen the local church—to care for the poor and needy, especially the little children—will become the most dynamic, powerful and blessed people around!

If our differences cause us to divide, then the Antioch should have been doomed. But, what we see in the Antioch church affirms what we see here at Highland and fills us with hope. Its that tandem work of rock-solid commitment to Christ, and rock-solid commitment to his work, that binds them and us, not our differences. The Antioch church also shows us the importance of being a "sending" church and we will look at what that means for us today.
The Apostle James settles the Jerusalem Council with a letter to the Antioch Church that calls Gentile Christians to cut all ties with pagan idolatry and sexual immorality and affirms their identity as full members of the Church.

Dr Younghoon Lee, Senior Pastor of Yoido Full Gospel Church likens City Harvest Church to the Antioch Church in the book of Acts. The Antioch Church was the first church for Gentiles, and the most influential church in the Roman Empire. Dr Lee preached on four qualities of the Antioch Church: one, it has a Christ-centred faith. The church must have a clear goal to worship the Lord and to dedicate itself to Him. As “Christians” we are called to think, speak, act and live like Jesus. Two, the Antioch Church has Holy Spirit-centred faith: the baptism of the Holy Spirit is the turning point in a Christian's life. Three, the Antioch Church has prayer-centred faith: nothing happens until we pray. Prayer is the “secret” to revival and church growth; it produces blessings and miracles in the church in the church. Four, the Antioch Church has mission-centred faith. Every Christian is called to win souls, to preach the gospel to the ends of the earth. Listen to this sermon and be revived in your calling to worship the Lord, be filled with the Holy Spirit, pray unceasingly and reach out to the lost.
