He doesn't just welcome the well-behaved sheep, but He also seeks out the messy ones, the loud ones and the ones who wander off. Jesus knows His sheep. This means we are not a face in the crowd, He knows us by name. He knows where we tend to wander and seeks us out to lift us up and carry us close to His heart back to where we belong.

The Nativity reminds us that Jesus doesn't need a spotlight. He only needed a manger. So often we look for God to move in dramatic ways. He is a God who still thunders and works miracles. He is also the God who speaks in the still small voice. We must remember to take time to pause in His presence to hear His voice of love and direction.

The call to follow Jesus distinguishes and marks an individual for discipleship. When the Master calls the disciple follows, just as Peter did when he laid down his nets and Matthew closed his tax office to follow Jesus. The Lord is calling us with those two powerful words - Follow Me.

Faith is the hand in the Spirit that reaches out and lays hold of what God has given us. This means that Faith is not waiting for the heavens to open up. It receives now what has been made available to us. Faith is not a future event - Faith Is Now!

Like the Prophet Elijah who stood in the gap interceding on behalf of the nation for God to send rain to end the drought, we too are called to the ministry of intercession. Interceding on behalf of others with a heart of compassion can be the difference in them experiencing breakthrough. God is still looking for intercessors to stand in the gap.

The need for intercession is as vital today as it was in the days of the Bible. Its purpose is to stand in the gap in order link the mercy of God to the needs of others. God is still looking for intercessors to stand in the gap to maintain the hedge of protection around people, families, churches, and nations. 

Thank you for listening to our Surge Church Podcast. In Revelation 2, Jesus rebuked the Church of Ephesus by calling them the "Loveless Church." He said - "you have left your first love." Although Jesus commended them for their good works, He called them to repentance for doing works out of Christian habit and duty with no love or zeal. How easy it is for the Christian life to become habitual and dutiful, while lacking a love and fervor for God. Let us return to our first love!

As Kingdom People, we have the responsibility to be good stewards of the resources God has entrusted to us in order to resource the Kingdom of God in the earth. Kingdom People who know their Kingdom Purpose will be diligent in their work, honor God with their resources, sow into kingdom ministry, bless others and be marked by the blessing and flavor of God.

Money is a divine testing ground. If we are not faithful with money, then we will not be faithful with the things of God. This is why Christians must change their paradigm about God and money. God desires for us to prosper. He knows that people with a Kingdom Heart will use prosperity for His Kingdom Purposes!

Tithing is an important covenant act, because it resets Lordship in our lives. When we honor God with the first of our increase, we release His lordship over our finances and prevent the influence of the Spirit of Mammon. The enemy knows what happens when we put God first. Giving God our first 10% is something we cannot afford not to do.

The reason is because nothing competes against God for the place of Lordship in our lives like money. Jesus said we cannot serve God and Mammon. Mammon is the world's system and the spirit behind the system that controls both money and people. Honoring God with our money resets Lordship in our lives and allows God to reign over our finances with abundance.

Having resources and how we manage and use those resources has so much to do with being the salt and light God desires us to be. This requires that we move beyond the Gospel of Just Enough and realize we serve a God of More Than Enough. Righteous Living is not Small Living, it is Surrendered Living for God's purposes.

It has righteous or corrupted power attached to it based on who possess it. This is why God's people must prosper in order to use money as a powerful tool of righteousness to advance God's Kingdom in the earth.

This is why the Bible speaks more about Money than the topics of Faith, Heaven or Hell. God knows we need money in this world's system and that is why it is critically important to have a Kingdom Mindset when it comes to money.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth who leads and guides us into truth. We cannot judge the manifestations of the Spirit as unbiblical simply because they are unfamiliar to us. The Holy Spirit will always lead us to truth, therefore we can trust the flow of His presence and power. 

Thank you for listening to our Surge Church Podcast. The Holy Spirit baptizes believers into the Body of Christ and Jesus baptizes them in the power of the Holy Spirit for ministry. What Salvation is to the sinner is what the Baptism in the Spirit is to the saint. One opens the door to the Kingdom and the other anoints us for the work of the ministry in the Holy Spirit's gifting and power.

Jesus left us the Great Commission to go into all the world and make disciples to the end of the age. The power and gifts of the Holy Spirit were given to empower us to fulfill the Great Commission. If the Great Commission has not ceased, then the Gifts of the Spirit to fulfill the Great Commission have not ceased. The key is to not allow our hunger and desire for the Spirit to cease.

The Holy Spirit is not a ghost as in Halloween. He is not a mysterious gas that fills people. He is not a force like in Star Wars. The Holy Spirit is a real person. He is the Third and Co-Equal member of the Godhead. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to be our supernatural helper and to manifest the power of God in the earth. He is the Promise to the Believer and the Church!

Jesus revealed the Law of Discipleship - "If any man come after me, let him deny himself." In an age of waning commitment, it is important to rekindle our fervor for God and pay the cost of discipleship. 

During our Annual Surge Legacy Sunday, Pastor Brad Sullivan emphasized Jesus' parable of the wise and foolish builders. The wise man built his house on the rock and the foolish man built his house on the sand. When the storm came the house built on the sand was destroyed, but the house built on the rock was still standing. The storms of life come, but it is the lives and homes built on the rock of God's word who endure.
