Glenn Moore and Jayde Adams and a House Band(!) are the tent, yurt and teepee guests for a very special episode recorded at the 2018 Latitude Festival. Within... a lot of singing, an embarrassing lack of scientific knowledge, an attempt at crowd surfing, misplaced scissors and The Killers. As you'll hear at the end of the episode we're super grateful to everyone who has donated money towards the series. If you'd like the chance to hear your name read out alongside a nonsensical compliment, you can! Lazy Susan and Adam Hess are the helpers helping Santa's little helpers (Tom and Ben) in this year's blockbuster Festive Flatshare Slamdown. As with any Xmas special, expect Carol Singers, Santa, Panto, True Stories, Advocaat (of course) and quickfire answers with a 'vague assonance' (TM) to the 12 days of Christmas! Want to give us an Xmas gift? Why not slip some money into our stockings? You can do so at comedy.co.uk/pfs/donate (try not to picture us dancing for you in stockings as you do this). If Xmas has left you stony broke, fear not, we'd also love the gift of exposure (try not to picture us exposing ourselves as you read this). Please tell people about the show! We are eternally grateful to all the #flatslammers who have donated some cold hard cash towards the series. It was a pleasure to welcome Helen Zaltzman from "The Allusionist" and "Answer Me This" Podcast as well as her former flatmate and current Pappy, Matthew Crosby from "Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown" and "Pappy's Bangers and Mash" for the first time! We chat about Matthew's choice of film the delightful "What We Do In The Shadows"     What we do in the Shadows, here after referred to as "WWDITS" is a magical comedy that is carved out of 120hrs worth of filming. 120hrs, incidentally, is the average length of a Judd Apatow film. WWDITS is dually directed by Jemaine Clement of "Flight of the Conchords" fame and Taika Waititi, soon to be of "Thor: Ragnorok". The mockumentary follows the story of 4 vampires who "Flat" together in Wellington, New Zealand and their hum drum life as they prepare for the big event in the calendar, The Masquerade Ball. Both directors wrote and star in this as well as Conchords alumnus Rhys Darby and a new crop of funny Kiwis, including the guys that play knitting vampire "Deacon" and Nick and Stu.     Scores [supsystic-tables id='14'] WWDITS is currently our highest scoring film with a smashing 4.7 out of 5 given that it's easy to watch and re-watch, funny, great for a small screen and 85mins! With guests Robin Ince and Matt Forde. The final Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown is aptly rubbish-themed and there are so many questions: Who is going to take out the bins? Who out of Tom and Ben is going to be crowned the series champion? What is the right way to eat a scotch egg? Will anyone be quite as drunk as Rufus Hound was in the last episode? In the show Tom and his guest Matt Forde finish off the jamboree with their Oasis tribute act, Ben picks up a ranting Robin Ince in the pub and is forced to bring him back to the flat and Matthew makes an appearance in an unusual place - speaking of which it is also worth mentioning that the stings really do bow out on a high note. Plus - Bin line-up, the Real Ale Relay and the aforementioned egg based puzzler from someone calling themselves Wowser. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

With guests Rufus Hound and Holly Walsh. It's the penultimate Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown and we're getting milky as bottle-fed Tom and Holly Walsh take on by-the-breast Ben and a 'tipsy' Rufus Hound. Can Matthew keep the panel on the correct side of the taste, decency and misogyny line? As battle progresses, Ben gives us a recipe for Strawberry and Garlic milk, Tom finally gets a response for banging on about the Jamboree, Holly is outraged by the rules of the 10 metre sprint, Beef Brothers is almost resolved before Fanshawe Standon gets to speak and Rufus - did we mention that Rufus had had a drink or two? - takes over the Quickfire round. With Helen Zaltzman and Olly Mann. In the fourth Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown the boys play host to Helen, Olly and Martin from the award-winning Answer Me This! podcast - and everyone is fighting to avoid having to find and kill a mouse that has been terrorising the flat. Along the way Ben reveals his elephantine origins, Tom discovers the ideal time of day to listen to the Flat Olympics round (this week: Marathon and Triple Jump) and Matthew is upstaged by a riddling rhyming rodent. Also Olly gets angry with the audience for no reason and Helen takes beef brothers quite seriously - attempting to offer genuine advice. And this weeks Beef-er Claire deserves a high five for persevering with us despite not being able to hear everything that's going on and consequently being erroneously labelled 'a little bit racist' (she's on the phone from Birmingham - that's right, we've gone technology crazy). The beef is a cracker - all about noisy eating. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
