Does your mum make you feel bad about your body? Does she comment on your weight or tell you how much to eat?Your mum may never stop dieting. Or commenting on your weight. This is a sad – but important thing to realise – your mother may never change. Luckily, you can change how you respond to her comments – and see them for what they are, disordered eating and really crumby body image compounded over many years. Unfortunately, this is a concept familiar to so many people – including today's guest, Jess Robinson. Jess is an award-winning British actor and celebrated voice artist. Yet behind the spotlight, she is battling with body image and diet culture. I was so excited to chat with Jess because she doesn't shy away from vulnerability. We rewind to her upbringing, where her mother's diet pursuits and comments lead to so many years pursuing an unattainable body. I loved this chat, we chatted about shedding harmful narratives, embracing intuitive eating, and establishing strong boundaries to protect ourselves from other people's comments. But the best part of Jess' Real Story – is how incredibly far she has already come. And I know her life will continue to be filled with those light-bulb moments. Realising how GOOD life can actually be, without dieting. Ps. If you adored Jess as much as I did - check her out on Instagram. Want help with binge or emotional eating? I think you'll get a lot of value from my FREE 5-day course, in which I teach you strategies that helped me to skip the cravings and feel in control around food. The course will be delivered via email straight into your inbox.

Dead Ringers is back for a brand new series! Featuring the voices of Jon Culshaw, Lewis MacLeod, Jess Robinson, Duncan Wisbey and Jan Ravens.
Performing regularly since 2004's appearance on Dead Ringers, various roles in the audio adventures of Doctor Who from Big Finish, and one of the “we need a voice” actors called on by the Horrible Histories troupe, Jess Robinson has been in the business for well over a decade before making it to the Fringe. 2016 saw impressionist Jess Robinson's third show at the Edinburgh Fringe. I,pressive opens with a promise of 99 voices in the first 5 minutes before a gentler pace kicked in and a storytelling hour took over… with a bit of help from both a live band and many of those aforementioned 99 voices. Since then there are more accomplishments, and Robinson has picked up a Gold Medal for ‘Best Entertainment Podcast' in 2021 with Stars in Your Ears. But now, back to 2016, back to Impressive, and always remember: The show is finished, don't try and get tickets.
Steve Punt and Hugh Dennis present the week via topical stand-up and sketches. They're joined by Alfie Brown, Lauren Pattison and Jess Robinson. Lauren Pattison takes us through Matt Hancock's jungle journey, Alfie Brown declares why "I Love Keir Starmer" and Jess Robinson sings us through what makes the perfect Christmas advert. The show was written by the cast with additional material from Sarah Campbell, Mike Shephard, Alex Garrick-Wright and Cameron Loxdale Voice actors: Luke Kempner and Stevie Martin Sound: David Thomas Executive Producer: Richard Morris Producer: Sasha Bobak Production Coordinator: Sarah Nicholls A BBC Studios Production
This week, we have TWO guests popping up on the show, but one of them only makes an appearance right at the very end, as the dominant force is the incredible comedian, singer and impressionist, Jess Robinson! Jess' couple still hold(ens) iconic status in the UK, despite not being together for over two decades, and have since found their family fortunes elsewhere, yes it's Amanda Holden & Les Dennis! As you can imagine Grainne and Chantal were thrilled with Jess' pick, and our survey says listen to this glorious episode!
On today's episode of That Gaby Roslin Podcast, Gaby is joined by Impressionist, Singer, Actor and 'Britain's Got Talent' Semi-Finalist Jess Robinson. One of the most exciting performers within British entertainment, writer, actor, comedian and podcaster Jess Robinson wasn't always destined for a career in comedy and instead cut her teeth within the world of musical theatre. As a child, her mum recalls making costumes for her to perform her own performances in their living room. Attending the Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, her passion lay in music, with cultivating a strong and versatile singing voice. On graduation, Jess secured the lead role in the theatrical interpretation of Little Voice at the Courtyard Theatre in Stratford Upon Avon. This was the first time that Jess had considered playing around with voices in an attempt to mimic a particular character. Jane Horrocks' voice in the 1998 film is so distinctive that it almost encourages impersonating and therefore Jess's first impression was born.

This week host Rebecca Porter sits down with the very talented Jess Robinson to talk about getting the giggles during a show. But really, it's a show about farts -getting farty onstage, blaming farts on dogs, even really well-known actors getting farty. So buckle up and be prepared to hear wind jokes.
Ever struggled with feelings of unworthiness or immense amounts of shame and guilt? Our guest Jess Robinson was unfortunately all too familiar with those feelings. Having met a lifetime of obstacles and pain, Jess had hit a rock bottom that even she herself thought she would never emerge from. But instead of falling victim to life's painful circumstances, Jess not only survived but thrived from it all. Tune in to uncover her story, and see how even in the darkest of times, the universe will find a way to put it all together for you one piece at a time. Find out how she turned her life around and learn more about her pursuit of a more fulfilling, conscious life. KEY POINTS / MAIN TAKEAWAYS: Jess's moment of transformation. Jess's holistic health and wellness journey. How the universe places people and opportunities in front of you. The importance of being honest and having compassion for yourself. The struggles of divorce and parenting. Why the thoughts of others do not matter. Taking charge of your decisions and your life. Embracing your mistakes and imperfections. The power of mindfulness practice. How to reconnect with yourself. QUOTABLES: “If you have a dream in your heart, it's meant to be yours and the universe will help you achieve it. If you can think it, it can happen.” “I'd rather be full of mistakes and have compassion for myself and continue to be on the path of releasing shame and forgiving myself but living true, than being an actress in my own life.” PRODUCTS / RESOURCES: Visit Jess's website at https://gypsyvida.net/ Follow Wendy on social media and share the love!
