The 2023 Seattle International Film Festival was held on May 11-21. Ron was able to receive press credentials and had the opportunity to check out several short films and a few features. One of my favorite films at SIFF was the short horror film Let It Kill You directed by David Cornue and starring Adam Bucci and Adam Hess. The film tells the story of a disaffected American soldier asserts to his superiors that an enemy combatant is innocent, only to discover his new friend may be concealing a far more sinister secret. I was amazed by all aspects of this film: the directing, cinematography, acting, script, special effects (practical and CGI). Clearly, there is great focus and passion for this project. The goal is for this short to become a feature film and I hope we all have a chance to see it soon!Let It Kill You Official Web Sitehttps://www.davidcornue.com/letitkillyouWritten and Directed by David CornueProducer/Actor Adam BucciProducer/Actor: Adam HussProducer Milena GovichOriginal Music by David CornueLet It Kill You IMDBhttps://www.imdb.com/title/tt15777136/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1Let It Kill You (2023 Seattle International Film Festival)https://www.siff.net/festival/let-it-kill-youMolecule Productions Instagramhttps://www.instagram.com/molecule_productionsMusicTheme from Let It Kill You composed by David CornueCourtesy of David CornueThe Wrath of the iOtiansEmail: thewrathoftheiotians@gmail.comInstagram: thewrathoftheiotiansTwitter: @OfiOtiansWebsite: https://thewrathoftheiotians.buzzsprout.com/

Martha Wyckoff is a private forest landowner in Kittitas County, central Washington. Her and her husband have owned and managed the land for 30 plus years. During this time they have slowly acquired forest and prairie land in the area with the goal of actively restoring the functionality and health of the forest. Their work has consisted of restoring much of the forest structure towards a more historical condition and have partnered with students from Central Washington University to study the impacts the management has had towards wildlife and plant diversity. (A transcript of this episode will be available later today on FollowFridayPodcast.com. Please check back!) Let's get one thing clear: Despite what some of her podcast critics might claim, Dana Schwartz is not a monarchist. "The whole point of http://noblebloodtales.com/ (Noble Blood) is me pointing out that these royals are just normal people," she says. "I think they're interesting people because they've been given unchecked power often throughout history, but for the record, I don't think that that's the best system of government." And after telling true stories of various monarchs for years on that podcast, Dana has turned her focus to Hollywood royalty in the new show https://www.iheart.com/podcast/1119-haileywood-88204299/ (Haileywood). In it, she chronicles Bruce Willis' attempt to remake a small town in Idaho in his own image. "He wants to be anonymous, but also wants to be famous and have the power of fame, but only on his terms," she explains. "As a character study, if nothing else, it's incredibly fascinating." Today on Follow Friday, Dana talks about some other incredibly fascinating people, who she follows online: Absurdist comedian https://www.instagram.com/chrisflemingfleming/ (Chris Fleming); author and soothing TikTokker https://www.instagram.com/chrisflemingfleming/ (Victoria Aveyard); writer and comedian https://www.instagram.com/adamhess100/ (Adam Hess); and journalist/podcaster https://twitter.com/rottenindenmark (Michael Hobbes). “The scene has changed. The game has changed.” – Jim Ross (September 5, 2021. AEW All Out. Chicago, Illinois) Without overstating things, September 5, 2021, was a historic night for professional wrestling. AEW's biggest show of the year, All Out, was poised to deliver a highly anticipated card, headlined by CM Punk making his in-ring return to pro wrestling. It was so much more than that. AEW took the opportunity to showcase what it has spent the last few years building. It's not merely competition for WWE. For many, arguably, it's a replacement. The AEW roster has been built meticulously, and with one night in Chicago – they showed to the world that they added the star power needed to go up against the McMahon family once and for all. CM Punk. Ruby Soho. Adam Cole (Bay Bay!). Daniel Bryan. I mean, Bryan Danielson (gotta get used to that). The hits just kept coming. From a solid pre-show to a wide variety of matches that each delivered in their own unique ways.. it was all killer, no filler. Well, okay. Except maybe for that Paul Wight match / piss break, which was out of character for AEW. But seriously, besides that, they spent the entire night showcasing their talent, telling interesting stories, and captivating an audience who was there with a craving for PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING. Those two words matter. Sports entertainment has become the default, but it doesn't have to be that way. Arguably, it's all pro wrestling. It's all sports entertainment. But when you present a product the way AEW did on Sunday.. *chef's kiss* Fans old and new, lapsed and jaded – they found something to get behind. I realize I'm coming off as a total fanboy in everything you just read. But I think they earned it. What's next for AEW? Besides Minoru Suzuki vs Jon Moxley, that is? One thing is for sure: Someone is gonna get their fuckin head kicked in! If Xmas has left you stony broke, fear not, we'd also love the gift of exposure (try not to picture us exposing ourselves as you read this). Please tell people about the show! Gift it to a friend, secret-santa it to your entire following on social media... or why not make a loved one the offering of all the Flatslam in existence (just put the URL comedy.co.uk/pfs into a Christmas card - sure it'll look cheap, but they'll thank you for it eventually). I hate myself for having made the cover image for this episode. That said, Adam is in town for the holidays, and so we did one of those old-fashioned in-studio-only episodes! Screw you, Skype! Featuring: Joshua Schlag (@thesteelcage / @schlizzag), ‘The Mayor of Reseda' Derek (@cap_kaveman), Bryan ‘Pipe Bomb' Gregston (@guitarsalad), and ‘A Bomb' Adam Hess (@ahess49). Since it's now in theatres worldwide and not just in Australia anymore, Greig & Adam welcome Tim & Jared to the Thor: Ragnarok spoiler discussions. Everything from Thor to Hela to Loki and yes of course, Hulk, all get the UNT treatment, as well as some of our weirdest tangents yet, including: - How Korg stole the show, - Why James McAvoy is destined to captain the Starship Enterprise and for that matter, what's with the weird way Riker uses chairs? - The crime of hiding Kat Dennings under thick overcoats, - The possible location of the Soul Infinity Stone, - And the true meaning of “Hulk Smash”. So pour one out for Mjolnir, cut your hair and sit by the Surter fire as we present UNT 32: Thor Ragnarok. Hosted by: ‘Captain Boomerang' Greig Tansley (@GreigT13). Featuring: ‘SuperJew' Jared Robinovitz (@superjew75), ‘New Doug' Tim Agne (@timagne) and ‘A-Bomb' Adam Hess (@ahess49). Music by & Mark Mothersbaugh & Gary Wright.
Pinnochio's cage. Wild times this episode as Sean (now 30) talks to homeless renaissance man David Elms (Channel 5's Boderline) and welcomes back Adam Hess (human clusterfuck). There's a return of Adam's 'inventions,' a discussion about milkmen and Eliot tells a story about racism in a swimming pool. It's nuts. This one took AGES to edit so please pretend to enjoy it at least.
I've got good news. That show you like is going to come back in style. David Lynch's Twin Peaks makes its promised return decades after the murder of Laura Palmer launched the greatest cult TV show of all time. As fully deputized members of the Bookhouse Boys Blue Rose Task Force, we're investigating the original series, the movie Fire Walk with Me and Showtime's Twin Peaks: The Return. We leave no rock untossed, no bottle unbroken, and in the end we will answer every question raised by Twin Peaks. With more questions. Weirder questions. And we don't care what David Bowie says — we ARE gonna talk about Judy. So pour yourself a damn fine cup of coffee, savor a slice of cherry pie and get ready to vomit creamed corn all over your car. This is your shiny gold shovel. And make sure to stick around after the music to hear more random Twin Peaks tangents. Hosted by: FBI Deputy Director Tim Agne (@timagne), who has criss-crossed this great land of ours countless times. He holds the map of it here, in his heart, next to the joyful memories of the carefree days he spent as a young boy, here in your beautiful town of Twin Peaks. Featuring: 'The Arm' Adam Hess (@ahess49), Special Agent Darrell Johnson (@zazzumplop, #RelationshipGoals) and 'Audrey Horne' Florence (@flaux). Music by: Angelo Badalamenti and Glitbiter
“Get your stinkin' paws off me, you damn unfunny nerds!” Right, so that's how it would have gone had we been in charge of the reboot. Thankfully, we weren't and The Planet of the Apes Trilogy has grown from leaps to bounds (and that's just between treetops) to culminate in a near-perfect trilogy not many predicted. Andy Serkis and his performance as Caesar the Ape has captured the hearts of many filmgoers in recent years, and we here at Unfunny Nerd Tangent are no exception. Along with returning guest, Stacey, we sat down to discuss the films and other assorted monkey business in our usual tangential way. And Tim kind of created a DATES podcast crossover on us. Hosted by: ‘Captain Boomerang' Greig Tansley (@GreigT13). Featuring: ‘Banana Chips' Tim Agne (@timagne), ‘Super Jew' Jared Robinovitz (@SuperJew75) & ‘Little Sherbie' Stacey Herbert (@littlesherbie). Special thanks to ‘Patient Zero' ‘A-Bomb' Adam Hess (@ahess49). Music by: Michael Giacchino & The Simpsons.
This week, the gang gets together to chat about Extreme Rules – coming to you this Sunday from Baltimore – only on the WWE Network! Though you'd think we would spend a fair bit of time talking about kendo sticks and steel cages, we spent a fair bit of time looking at the state of storytelling and character development in WWE presently – and we hope you'll enjoy the conversation as much as we did. Featuring: ‘The Mayor of Reseda' Derek (@cap_kaveman), Psyniac (@rawispsyniac), ‘A Bomb' Adam Hess (@ahess49), ‘The Beast from the Middle East' Darrell Johnson (@zazzumplop), and Joshua Schlag (@thesteelcage / @schlizzag). Music by The Black Furies, courtesy of Music Alley.
A new, legendary turd of a podcast spanning the reaches of the known Skype universe, Episode 18 of Unfunny Nerd Tangent tackles the intergalactic craziness and all-round Ego-tistical new movie: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Greig gloats about seeing the movie two weeks before everyone else, Tim gets uncharacteristically fiery, Flaux wonders why the hell she came back on this trainwreck to of all things, discuss the best Dairy Queen locales, and while Adam pops in via the wonders of technology to drop an unpopular hot take, Jared struggles with his own personal white whale of typos. Oh, and we kind of rambled on about the Guardians. Or Pratt-led on, if you will. Get it? Wait, am I winking with the wrong eye again? Never mind. Instead, just remember: I am Groot. I am Groot, and I am Groot. Hosted by: ‘Captain Boomerang' Greig (@GreigT13) Featuring: ‘SuperJew' Jared (@SuperJew75), Tim Agne (@timagne) & Flaux (@Flaux). Special Guest Hater: ‘A-Bomb' Adam Hess (@ahess49). Music by: Awesome Mix Volume 2
Sean McLoughlin and his loyal butler Eliot return with the wildest/dumbest episode of Heal Your Wounds yet. In a repeat of the botched pilot Adam Hess and Mark Smith return to the show and it's a white-knuckle ride from the off.
