Tonight we're opening up with a little follow up to yesterday's discussion as President Trump scolded the press for asking about Jeffery Epstein. Then we segway into topics that should add a little levity to the evening, and a chance for calls. Over Independence Day weekend I watched a documentary on the 2013 Carnival Cruise disaster in the Gulf; it's an outrageous documentary called Poop Cruise (Netflix). I want to hear from people who have vacation from hell stories, plumbing disaster stories, and more. There are a few dozen tickets left for the September 6th Jamboree in September, grab some today and come hang with all of your favorite characters from the show! J Gulinello is in for my favorite Summer Evening of the year, July 3rd. It's an evening of patriotic anticipation, marked by the crackle of fireworks being set off in surrounding neighborhoods; everyone is checking their grocery list to make sure there's enough chili to choke George Washington's horse. J is in to talk about whatever the hell. Maybe some news, some MAHA developments, some bullshitting –whatever it is, you know it's going to be fun and informative! On this vibrant Fourth of July Eve, Frankie Val welcomes special guest J Gulinello for an energetic evening of conversation spanning health, history, and culture. They unpack the growing Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement, RFK Jr.'s fierce pushback against vaccine adjuvants and the vaccine industry's lobbying efforts to shut him down, and debate the benefits and risks of wearables like continuous glucose monitors. The pair swap stories about the decline of food quality in America, recount a nostalgic VHS marathon of Liberty Weekend 1986, and announce the September Quite Frankly Jamboree, an in-person gathering with farm-to-table feasting and live community connection. Frankie reflects on the decline of cash acceptance, the rise of surveillance, and the unique spirit of Independence Day, all while taking listener calls and sharing plenty of laughs. Whether you're here for health insights, cultural observations, or just the camaraderie, this episode captures the mood of summer celebration and thoughtful dissent.

I'll Keep Loving You". On this episode, Matthew sits down with a couple of new pals from the inaugural Buckskin Jamboree All-Traditional Shoot, hosted by The Archery & Bow Club (TAB) in Grey Court, South Carolina. TAB Archery Club hosts archery events. The club is part of the South Carolina Archery Association (SCAA) and Western Carolina Archery Circuit (WCAC). TAB is an all-archery club, but decided to bring back some of their traditional heritage with an all-traditional archery shootout, which included a 20+ target 3D shoot, clinics on wellness, bow making, and hunting from a tree saddle. If you're new to traditional archery, I encourage you to reach out to your local trad archery club and introduce yourself. Odds are there are some seasoned archers that are more than willing to show you a thing or two. Worst case, you make some new friends. Get outside. Get dirty, and try to learn something new. Today's poem is Jamboree, Evening, Midsummer by Austin Araujo. The Slowdown is your daily poetry ritual. In this episode, Major writes… “I have borne witness to some profoundly tender relationships over the years between siblings. I realize how quiet I have been in acknowledging the beauty of those bonds. So, consider today's episode a shout out, a lifting of siblinghood that avoids traditional predictable codes and stereotypes.” Celebrate the power of poems with a gift to The Slowdown today.
