It’s official... Rowlene has released her new album: ’11:11’. The album – released under Nasty C’s label, Tall Racks Records – dropped on Friday, 13 November 2020... so naturally, Carl Wastie had to get her on the line to congratulate her about the new record on the Kfm Top 40. At 11:11am on the 14th day of the eleventh month, Carl called up Rowlene, and instead of doing "your typical interview" with her - decided to do a listening party of the album, playing clips from each track and allowing Rowlene the opportunity to give us the background behind the song. Turns out, she as a lot of favourites, and you will too once you've listened to the young starlet's breakout album. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Cape Town-born vocalist, Rowlene, joins Zain on Weekend Breakfast to talk about her debut album "11:11". See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
You may recognise her voice and her face from the smash hit of her 'big brother', Nasty C, titled, 'SMA'. Rowlene is now riding solo and by the sound of things, she is destined for greatness! She has been crafting her talent for a good two decades, every note and register has been honed and toned, all the edges have been polished, and she is ready for take off! This is Rowlene, a singer and songwriter born in Cape Town and signed under rapper Nasty C's 'Tall Racks' record company. Rowlene's album titled, '11:11', is set to shake up the industry. I managed to catch up with her earlier today to chat about the excitement of her album release.
On Saturday, 3 October 2020, Carl Wastie played out an interview he had with Rowlene and BET nominee, Nasty C, about their latest project - a track called 'Stop'. Connecting via Zoom, the Kfm Top 40 exclusive saw Carl Wastie getting to know a little more about the track and how it came to be, as well rapping for the two South African stars. 'Stop' comes from Rowlene's upcoming album '11:11'. Whilst many know 'SMA' by Nasty C and Rowlene - a former no.1 on the multiple award-winning Kfm Top 40 - many don't know that these two are more than just collaborators, with Rowlene being the first artist Nasty C signed to his own record label, Tall Racks Records. The first single she released through the label was 'Curtain Call', another track that performed exceptionally well on the Kfm 94.5 chart show. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Like I've said before, August 2020 will go down in history as having some of the biggest African albums to drop. Enter Nasty C with the most anticipated project of his career after getting the ears and respect of the hard to penetrate American music industry. It only goes to show how highly regarded Nasty C is. Let me delve into Zulu Man With Some Power and see how much of la puissance Nasty C shows on this project after his earlier 2020 mixtape with DJ Whookid titled ZULU. Overview of Zulu Man With Some Power: - Released August 28 under Universal Music South Africa - 20 songs - 58 minute runtime - 6 features including T.I, Rowlene, Tellaman, Ari Lennox, Lil Gotit, Lil Keed - Multiple producer placements

LIVE from Huawei KDay 2020 at Meerendal Estate - following her performance, Carl Wastie caught up with Rowlene on the Kfm Top 40 on Saturday, 7 March 2020, to find out how it went, how her birthday had been, and when we can expect new music from her. Rowlene's first debut single, 'Curtain Call' is a former Top 10 single on the Kfm Top 40 - and Nasty C's duet with her, 'SMA', is a former number one on the chart. Rowlene, who hails from Elsies River, is a proud Capetonian now living in Jozi. Whenever asked to compare the cities, she always says "Cape Town had me first". The young, dynamic star, who Carl first met at High School Jam some years ago, offered up an incredible, memorable performance at Huawei KDay that matched up to, if not, outdid studio versions of her music - showcasing just how talented she is. She hinted that her album would be out later this year and also alluded to a new single in the coming months.

South African singer/songwriter Rowlene is about to touch hearts this summer with her new single ‘Curtain Call’, which was released on Friday (13 Sep 2019) by Nasty C’s Tall Racks Records. On the record, Rowlene elaborates about her past experiences and embraces freedom as she grows on her personal journey. The song sees Rowlene’s vocals soaring in a new pop direction as she educates us more about how she is learning to let go of her past and is ready to live her life with no regret. Rowlene stopped by the Coca-Cola Top40SA on Saturday, 14 September 2019, to catch-up with a day-one fan of hers; a man that has known her since she represented Elsies River at High School Jam in a duet with another star, Craig Lucas; and the host of the Flash Drive and chart show on Kfm 94.5: Carl Wastie.
We have two trailblazers in the studio to talk about all things music and life, Rowlene and Moozlie are here to let us know what the word is. You probably know Rowlene from her collaborations with Nasty C, but she is steadily making sure that's not all that you know here for. We were all amazed when we found out that she mixes and masters her own music, she also lets us know what the working dynamic is like at Tall racks Records and what it's like having a young boss like Nasty C. Enter Moozlie, we don't think our intro to her will do any justice. From TV presenter to charting rapper. Moozlie has been on the up in Hip Hop and she lets us in on her secret to being a multi-faceted personality in the industry. We also got to get her side of the story of the Cash Time label situation and how she handled the backlash from her responsible driving campaign, which had the whole country shook. There's all of that from these two ladies and a lot more in between, enjoy the conversation. Get involved with the conversation using the hashtag #TheSoberingPodcast and check the ladies doing their thing at #CastleLiteUnlocks on June 17th and 18, respectively. On Saturday, 11 May 2019, 'SMA' - Nasty C & Rowlene made its debut at no.1 on the Coca-Cola Top40SA, following a few weeks of very steady growth, climbing the chart. To celebrate, Carl Wastie called up Rowlene to surprise her with the news that she was at no.1.
