It's easy to get caught in the comparison trap, especially in real estate. Doom scrolling, watching what everyone else is doing, and quietly questioning your own path. This episode is a reminder that comparison only pulls you away from the work that actually matters. As we step into 2026, the focus shifts to intention over distraction. Instead of chasing every shiny idea or trend, the conversation centers on choosing one meaningful area of your business and showing up for it consistently. Small, focused actions create real momentum. There's also a grounded look at social media noise and a powerful reminder that one of the few things you truly own in your business is your email list and how you use it to build trust and connection. If you're ready to tune out the noise, trust your instincts, and build a business that fits your life instead of draining it, this episode is for you. Let's dive in!

Ashley Du was living on her own and working before she was 15 years old. She got married, had two kids, and got divorced before she was 21. For most, that would be a recipe for a life of struggle and problems, but Ashley turned it around and started her own childcare business in San Francisco, which she has run and grown to a lucrative business for over 13 years (expanding to a 3rd location in San Mateo in 2026)!  We had a great chat, and I am impressed by all she's accomplished and become. In this inspiring Parshas Vayechi review, Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe highlights Jacob's individualized blessings to each son and grandson—emphasizing uniqueness over uniformity—as a model for parenting and personal growth. No "cookie-cutter" approach: every child has distinct talents to nurture, rejecting worldly "equality" (equal outcomes) for Torah's equal potential.Central focus: the eternal Friday-night blessing "Yisimcha Elokim k'Ephraim v'chi'Menashe"—Ephraim and Menashe, raised in decadent Egypt yet remaining steadfastly Jewish, became exemplars of harmony, resilience, and spiritual elevation despite surroundings. Rabbi Wolbe reveals the deeper charge: to merit such children, parents must emulate Yosef—unwavering commitment, resisting temptation, seeing divine plan in adversity. The episode calls for "intentional Judaism": deliberate steps forward (Shabbos observance, kashrut, relationships) rather than stagnation or excuses. Small, consistent improvements—rejecting complacency—honor our unique potential, transforming challenges into growth. Now a 5x national champion and 100 meter American record holder, she represented the USA in the 2024 Paris Paralympics, proving that resilience and determination can redefine what's possible. “I've heard over and over that you have to respect the distance. I kind of understood that, but you need to experience it to have respect for it and the emotional waves that you go through during it. I had heard that and it made sense to me, but the true understanding of that hit later. That was humbling a little bit. It's not an easy race. You can't fake a marathon.”My guest for today's episode is Kylie Mantz. If that name sounds familiar, yes, she is the wife of CITIUS MAG Podcast regular and U.S. marathon record holder Conner Mantz. But beyond that, Kylie is coming off a year in which she walked on to BYU's track team and can call herself a marathoner now after making her debut just a couple days ago with a strong 2:43 victory at the Two Cities Marathon in Fresno, California. Kylie didn't run much in high school. In fact, she only started running consistently in the last two years or so. At first, it was just to understand her husband's world and then because she realized that she could belong in it. Fast forward to this year and she's raced in a BYU singlet, trained under coach Diljeet Taylor, and ran 34:57 for 10,000m on the track. Then after that, she's taken super well to the roads all while wrapping up her degree in elementary education. What I love about this conversation is that her path is unconventional and refreshingly honest. She learned the sport from scratch with the occasional lessons from Conner and then found the confidence and spark to chase the U.S. Olympic Trials qualifier in the marathon. That's 2:37. She's proving that it's never too late to start and to dream big.____________Host: Chris Chavez | @chris_j_chavez on InstagramGuests: Kylie Mantz | @kyliehmantz on Instagram + Conner Mantz | @connermantz on Instagram Produced by: Jasmine Fehr | @jasminefehr on Instagram____________SUPPORT OUR SPONSORSNOMIO: Made with 80% broccoli sprout juice, 15% lemon juice, and 5% sugar, Nomio activates your body's natural defense systems to reduce lactate, speed recovery, and enhance muscle adaptation. Not the one you think you should want, not the one others expect from you, but the one that actually feels real and fulfilling to you. Most of us spend years trying different things, pushing in directions that do not quite fit, and feeling frustrated when clarity does not come right away. That is part of the process. Those paths that do not align with us help us discover the ones that do.If you are in a season where things feel unclear, I encourage you to step back and really look at where you have been and where you want to go. Ask yourself what you want professionally, personally, and in your day to day life. Not what you think you should want, but what you genuinely want right now. Give yourself permission to explore that honestly. Some people seem lucky, but everyone who ends up where they want to be eventually has to figure it out. You can figure it out too. If it matters to you, you will uncover the steps. You will adjust. You will find your direction. It might not look perfect or polished today, but that does not mean you are not moving in the right direction.Thank you for listening. Feel free to email me with your thoughts and reflections. As a teenager in Cairo in the early 1940s, Inji Efflatoun made two great discoveries: art and the Communist Party. Although she was from an elite French-speaking background, Efflatoun chose to “re-Egyptianize” herself, pursue painting and throw herself full-heartedly into anti-imperialist, feminist and leftist agitation. She was eventually arrested during President Nasser's repression of Communists in the early 1960s. It was in prison that she embarked upon the most productive stage of her career as an artist. Today, her prison portraits and the vibrant, luminous paintings of Egyptian rural life she painted after her release are iconic. In this episode we speak to Ahmed Gobba and Avery Gonzales, co-translators of Efflatoun's 1993 memoir, “The Memoir of Inji Efflatoun: From Childhood to Prison.” The memoir is the nucleus of a new book, The Life and Work of Inji Efflatoun, published by SKIRA and edited by Sultan Sooud Al-Qassemi and Suheyla Takesh. It comes out in the US on October 7 and is available to pre-order now. Today I am joined by Bobbi Sue Thomas! Bobbi was born and raised in South Alabama, which is where she now lives with her husband, Doug, their two daughters—Caroline and Cammie—and their four-year-old mini dachshund, Tiny, who proudly holds the title of “baby of the family.”Bobbi launched Bobbi with the Eye in July 2023 after a dinner with her high school girlfriends where she told them that she wanted to start posting her outfits and sharing more on Instagram. They really encouraged her to create her Instagram page. Bobbi has always loved finding a good deal, sharing outfit inspo, and helping friends discover affordable fashion that fits real life. Bobbi's friends inspired her to put it out there, and the rest is history! In this episode, Bobbi and I talked about her corporate career (which she began in a temp position), why it's important to take chances, how to carve your own path, social media hacks, and how to have a "why not you" mindset. Bobbi's InstagramBobbi's TikTokBobbi's WebsiteCity of Mobile Animal Shelter

In this episode, Michael & Sandy decode three rich dreams that show how guidance can quietly become control—and how your dreams nudge you to reclaim your direction. Dream 1 – “Running Up a Hill” (Sharon): A retreat walk along a river turns into a steep climb led by a guru figure. A patient dog on a leash, cats, and scenic stalls reveal a pattern of letting others set the path—and how to start leading yourself. Dream 2 – “Lighter”: A boy with a lighter in a room full of beds points to the spark of life taken by “logic” around age eight. Handing the lighter to a “prop master” shows the gift was stored away, waiting to be reclaimed. Dream 3 – “The Wonderful Group” (Karen): A long, healing journey: finding your tribe, tending planters (ovary/reproductive symbols), cleaning your own mess, and releasing safety obsessions. Broken glasses/phone (outlook & voice), a generous benefactor, and a purple wig scene spotlight perfectionism and protection patterns—ending with laughter on wake-up (a sign of deep healing). Plus, Nicole's Mailbag: what it means when your own children show up in dreams—and how that often marks the age of the wound. Takeaway: Your dreams celebrate guidance—but they ask you to lead your spiritual walk, balance masculine/feminine energy, reclaim your spark, and let your authentic needs choose the route. (Spiritual education only; not medical advice.) Chapters 00:00 – When guidance limits growth 00:18 – Welcome & free Summit info 01:11 – What this show does + how to submit your dream 02:03 – Dream #1 “Running Up a Hill” (river, hill, dog on leash, kittens) 03:31 – Analysis: letting others dictate vs. leading yourself 06:28 – Dream #2 “Lighter” (beds on floor, boy with lighter, prop master) 07:36 – Analysis: reclaiming the spark taken by “logic” at ~age 8 11:16 – Setup for a long healing dream 11:54 – Dream #3 “The Wonderful Group” (tribe, planters, mini-garden, six months) 15:22 – Why “do nothing” periods help integration 16:25 – Cleaning your mess; steel frames; brother breaks phone/glasses 19:29 – Being looked out for; romance & stars; abundance theme 20:25 – Cake & raspberry: reproductive healing; age-12 protection (martial arts) 21:44 – Perfectionism from mom; protection/weight; purple wig scene 23:27 – Waking up laughing = healing landed 24:55 – Nicole's Mailbag: kids in dreams = age of the wound

Mason may not be very well known yet but he is dang sure doing his best by climbing through the ranks and trying to soak up as much as he can from those who are willing to offer their knowledge to him. Mason Mileski is a Utah farrier who has been shoeing for a short period of time but has made a big impact on his career by seeking help from top farriers in the industry. He didn't attend a farrier school but with his own motivation and persistence, he convinced his father in-law to teach him how to shoe horses. Though like most great farriers we've talked to on the podcast, he signed up for the Novice division at his states (the Utah Farriers Association) annual contest and learned so much by just diving in to get his feet wet and also meet so many like minded farriers who were willing to give up their time to help another out. From there he sought out the American Farriers Association certification system and convention competition. All the while he didn't know that he was going to be introduced to Bodie Trnka and become teammates in the Two-Man Draft Class. They eventually went on to win the Draft Class at the AFA Convention! Now Mason is competing at the WCB contests and placing well enough to have a shot at making the 2025 WCB Team. And something we haven't had many guests do to us on the podcast was have a couple questions lined up to ask us, so stick around to the end where Mason surprises us with a couple insightful questions for the us hosts! HT2335 - Find Your Own Path The Internet — indeed, the WORLD — is filled with creative types who all want to show you how they do it, whatever "it" is. Me included, I confess. The problem persists, however, that your path is your path and can only be revealed by you. Techniques can be taught, but creativity must be discovered, nurtured, searched for, allowed by you, for you. “It just takes time, having people on the team with a bit of experience, and seeing people do it well. It's definitely building and I'm excited to see what they do over the next few years. I have to leave, but one win shows them that we can keep on winning. Hopefully we get our own little streak!”My guest for today's episode as we continue our Washington Huskies takeover is Sophie O'Sullivan. The University of Washington senior got it done — an NCAA 1500m title capping off a strong collegiate career. For the daughter of Olympic silver medalist Sonia O'Sullivan and renowned coach Nic Bideau, greatness may have been in the genes, but it wasn't always a given.Sophie didn't grow up chasing her parents' shadows. She played other sports in high school, barely trained, and still won races on grit alone. College was a different game. It took years of rebuilding mentally, physically, and emotionally, and in this conversation, she takes us through that progression, the years that shaped her, the lessons from her legendary parents, and how she's learned to love the grind, whether she's chasing titles or simply chasing her best. With a national title and an Olympic appearance behind her and the World Championships ahead, this is just the beginning.Host: Chris Chavez | @chris_j_chavez on InstagramGuest: Sophie O'Sullivan | @sophie.osullivan on InstagramProduced by: Jasmine Fehr | @jasminefehr on InstagramSUPPORT OUR SPONSORSOLIPOP: Olipop is a prebiotic soda that tastes like a throwback to your favorite childhood drinks, but it's loaded with benefits that your body will thank you for.
