This sermon is Paul's defense of his ministry and a challenge to pastors and all who minister in any way to be people of integrity. The final verse in this passage tells us: 6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. What a great reason for us to give thanks this Thanksgiving season!

It can be tempting to try and convince people of God’s Word by adjusting it to make it more attractive, but we need to remember that we’re in a war, with a real enemy who lies and blinds and kills. We need to humbly preach the whole truth, and trust the Spirit of God to open the eyes of the blind, to display the unveiled Gospel; which reveals Jesus as the light of God and Satan as the god of dark deception Outline: o Staying Faithful to God’s Word o Seeing the little god’s lie o Shining God’s Glory
It's hard to believe that God wants to give us the gift of eternal life, and all He expects in return is a relationship built on love and gratitude.

"I see the truth of God's Word in your life." Pastor Ben Martinez As we study Chapter 4, Verses 1-4, in II Corinthians, we learn from from the teachings of Paul that we should not lose heart, no matter what our circumstances are.
After a three week break, we are back in 2 Corinthians tomorrow, picking up in chapter 4, verses 1-6. We are getting into some real “meaty” stuff here in the next two chapters! I don’t want your brain to overheat, so I will keep this simple and brief. Paul talks twice in the next section about “not losing heart” — 4:1 and 4:16. Evidently, this is really on his mind! It is easy to think that Paul is just a ministry machine or robot. He just goes and goes and never struggles with being discouraged. Did Paul ever feel like giving up on life or ministry? Did he ever feel like packing it in? Wouldn’t you like to know what kept him going? With such opposition, difficulty, and pain, why didn’t he just give up? Have you ever felt like the passion for life has just gone? You have no more wind in your sails, nor passion in your heart? Then I assure you that this next section may give some really crucial Biblical advice. Paul was not a machine, but he knew how to look at his life. He knew how to think correctly about things. This is why chapter 4 begins with “Therefore…we do not lose heart.” There is a “therefore” that gives us the reason. What is the reason? How can you find passion and purpose for life? Listen in as Pastor Steve shares these important truths over the next few chapters of 2 Corinthians.

Since God shines the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ, we should faithfully present God's Word in a world blinded by the Evil One.

"...we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God." 2 Corinthians 4v2

We can be so critical of the way churches do things today. In 2 Corinthians 4:1-6 Paul shares with us 6 guidelines for the type of church God uses. These principles also can directly apply to our lives.

In the early days of world war II, and it looked as if Germany could not be stopped. The king of England spoke the words that are the title of tonight’s message. People have forgotten where to put their trust. They place their trust in earthly and temporal things. People have placed their trust in the stock market. They placed their trust in their company. They put their trust in governments. All these things, at some point, will let us down. Every four year a politician comes along and promises change, yet things do not change. All of these things are based on shifting sand. The bible tells us that everything on the earth will be consumed in a fire. The bible tells us that we come into the world naked, and we will leave in the same way. Nothing we have here will follow us into eternity. As we press through life and face the unknown, there is a place in which we can place our trust that is better and safer than anything else. God is still the same. If we are going to put our trust in anything, we need to put our trust in He who cannot fail. Putting our hand in the hand of God and letting Him lead is better than light and safer than a known way.

There are many people who are passionate about promoting a lie they believe to be true. What is our ministry? If you know the Lord, you have the truth of the gospel. Do we have a passion to share what is most important? During this Christmas season, be zealous to share the truth of Jesus Christ with friends, family members, and coworkers.

Many say they do not believe in God. Others say they believe, just not what the Bible teaches about certain things such as the existence of Hell. Like it or not, it makes no difference: it is real whether you are AWARE of it or not.
