This is a grand series from the best of Missions on Point. It begins a series on discovering missions through the Bible. This first episode in that series is the glory of God. What could be higher and grander and more noble than that? This episode begins to explore the biblical content, showing how it's easy to see, if you have eyes to see it, the great missions themes throughout the whole Bible. The glory of God is the pinnacle, but many other episodes follow in the Missions on Point history. A very interesting reference in this episode is the story of how John Piper from Bethlehem Baptist Church became aware of and turned to the story of the glory of God in missions in the Bible. A more detailed version of this story is on Propempo.com. Enjoy!

What if everything you believed about yourself was wrong? What if your spiritual “scoreboard” showed defeat, even though you thought you were winning? In this episode, Stephen Davey explores Romans 3:10–12 to show that no one—not one person—is righteous in themselves. These verses open a series of 14 indictments against humanity, all building to a single, stunning conclusion: every person is guilty before God. You'll learn how sin is not just something we do—it's something that dominates us. Paul's sweeping declarations leave no one off the hook, and that's why the gospel is such good news. This message will equip you to confront the world's favorite myths about sin—and help you respond with grace, truth, and confidence in God's unchanging Word.

Experiencing God Working and Resting to the Glory of God 1 Corinthians 10.23–33 AUG 31 2025
Simon Pranaitis explores the use of money for the glory of God in his conclusion to the fourteen-week "Proof of Work" series. In this final lesson, we explore how money is God's good gift, designed to help us fulfill His purposes in our work and community. From Genesis to Revelation, Scripture reveals that money is neither evil nor ultimate, but a tool to be stewarded faithfully under God's sovereignty. We address lingering questions about debt, tithing, and the role of gold and silver, showing how biblical principles guide our financial decisions. Above all, we are called to use money wisely and generously, doing all things to the glory of God. ★ Support this podcast ★

Haggai 2New King James VersionThe Coming Glory of God's House2 In the seventh month, on the twenty-first of the month, the word of the Lord came [a]by Haggai the prophet, saying: 2 “Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people, saying: 3 ‘Who is left among you who saw this [b]temple in its former glory? And how do you see it now? In comparison with it, is this not in your eyes as nothing? 4 Yet now be strong, Zerubbabel,' says the Lord; ‘and be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, all you people of the land,' says the Lord, ‘and work; for I am with you,' says the Lord of hosts. 5 ‘According to the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so My Spirit remains among you; do not fear!'6 “For thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; 7 and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the [c]Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this [d]temple with glory,' says the Lord of hosts. 8 ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,' says the Lord of hosts. 9 ‘The glory of this latter [e]temple shall be greater than the former,' says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,' says the Lord of hosts.”The People Are Defiled10 On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came by Haggai the prophet, saying, 11 “Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Now, ask the priests concerning the law, saying, 12 “If one carries holy meat in the fold of his garment, and with the edge he touches bread or stew, wine or oil, or any food, will it become holy?” ' ”Then the priests answered and said, “No.”13 And Haggai said, “If one who is unclean because of a dead body touches any of these, will it be unclean?”So the priests answered and said, “It shall be unclean.”14 Then Haggai answered and said, “ ‘So is this people, and so is this nation before Me,' says the Lord, ‘and so is every work of their hands; and what they offer there is unclean.Promised Blessing15 ‘And now, carefully consider from this day forward: from before stone was laid upon stone in the temple of the Lord— 16 since those days, when one came to a heap of twenty ephahs, there were but ten; when one came to the wine vat to draw out fifty baths from the press, there were but twenty. 17 I struck you with blight and mildew and hail in all the labors of your hands; yet you did not turn to Me,' says the Lord. 18 ‘Consider now from this day forward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the day that the foundation of the Lord's temple was laid—consider it: 19 Is the seed still in the barn? As yet the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not yielded fruit. But from this day I will bless you.' ”Zerubbabel Chosen as a Signet20 And again the word of the Lord came to Haggai on the twenty-fourth day of the month, saying, 21 “Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying:‘I will shake heaven and earth.22 I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms;I will destroy the strength of the Gentile kingdoms.I will overthrow the chariotsAnd those who ride in them; The horses and their riders shall come down,Every one by the sword of his brother.23 ‘In that day,' says the Lord of hosts, ‘I will take you, Zerubbabel My servant, the son of Shealtiel,' says the Lord, ‘and will make you like a signet ring; for I have chosen you,' says the Lord of hosts.”

Pastor Micah Stephens delivers a convicting message from 1 Corinthians 10, urging believers to navigate Christian liberty with discernment in a pagan culture akin to modern California. Drawing from the church's anchored reading program, he contrasts Rome's theological legalism with Corinth's moral struggles, using the example of eating meat offered to idols to illustrate the tension between what's permissible and what's edifying. Stephens shares a personal anecdote about his six young children testing boundaries, likening it to Christians flirting with sin's edge, and challenges the congregation to prioritize glorifying God and building others up over selfish desires. His closing prayer seeks conviction and humility, aligning with Godspeak's mission to apply biblical truth amidst cultural challenges like AB 495, which he references as a threat to parental rights.Reference VersesRomans 15 verse 1, Romans 16 verses 17–18, 1 Corinthians 10 verses 20–21, 1 Corinthians 10 verses 23–33, 1 Corinthians 11 verse 1, Romans 8 verse 1, James 2 verses 14–26, Romans 5 verse 20, Romans 6 verse 1, Hebrews 10 verse 25, Galatians 5 verse 13, 1 Corinthians 8 verse 7, Deuteronomy 14 verse 26, Psalm 127 verses 3–5Make sure you subscribe to this channel and follow us on all our platforms to always stay up to date with our latest content! And you can always head over to our website for any general information! https://godspeak.comPrayer/NeedsIf you have any needs, or have a willingness to be used to meet various need in the body, please email info@godspeak.com. Discover how to navigate Christian liberty with wisdom and love in this exploration of 1 Corinthians 10:23-33. Paul addresses the Corinthians' claim that 'all things are lawful' by showing that while God created everything good, things become sinful when misused. Learn the difference between asking 'Is this allowed?' and the higher standard of 'Does this build others up?' This message unpacks practical guidelines for Christians facing cultural dilemmas, like how to handle food sacrificed to idols in the first century or similar gray areas today. Understand the ultimate filter for all decisions: 'Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.' Explore the distinction between harmful people-pleasing motivated by pride and godly accommodation motivated by removing unnecessary barriers to the gospel. This teaching provides biblical wisdom for Christians struggling with questions about entertainment choices, social media use, alcohol consumption, and other areas where Scripture doesn't give explicit commands. Perfect for believers wanting to honor God in everyday decisions while loving others well. Authentic speaking about God's goodness and greatness must come from the soul. Blessing God with the mouth without the soul would be hypocrisy.
Pastor Dru Rodriguez highlights how Moses' face shone after speaking with God on Mount Sinai, showing that intimate time with God transforms us. He explains the Hebrew term behind “shone” and the historical horns imagery, pointing to a life that reflects God's glory.
God made humans in his image so that the world would be filled with reflectors of God. Images of God. So that nobody would miss the point of creation.
Fr. Mike reflects on how Isaiah's prophecies in chapters 49-50 point to the immediate reality of God's promise of redemption for Israel, as well as to the distant reality of Jesus Christ as the Messiah. In our reading of Ezekiel, we also learn how the glory of God departed from the temple, and how God's presence is often hidden from us as well. Today's readings are Isaiah 49-50, Ezekiel 10-11, and Proverbs 12:17-20. For the complete reading plan, visit ascensionpress.com/bibleinayear.
