Eiropas basketbola čempionātā sākas izšķirošās spēle. Šodien, 6. septembrī, norisināsies četras pirmās astotdaļfināla spēles. Vienā no tām Latvijas izlase tiksies ar lietuviešiem. Lietuvieši savas apakšgrupas spēles aizvadīja Tamperē, uzvarēja četrās no piecām cīņām - dienvidu kaimiņi pārspēja Lielbritāniju, Melnkalni, Somiju un Zviedriju, bet zaudēja pagaidām perfekti spēlējošajai Vācijai. Latvija apakšgrupā zaudēja Turcijai un Serbijai, bet uzveica Igauniju, Portugāli un Čehiju. Lietuvas izlasei šajā Eiropas čempionātā traumas dēļ vairs nepalīdz pirmais saspēles vadītājs Roks Jokubaitis, bet Latvijai arī savainojuma dēļ vairs nepalīdz uzbrucējs Andrejs Gražulis. Latvijas un Lietuvas basketbola izlase 21.gadsimtā finālturnīros tikušās piecreiz - lietuvieši uzvarējuši trīsreiz, bet latvieši divreiz. Mums, protams, zīmīgākās ir abas Latvijas uzvaras: 2001.gadā arī astotdaļfinālā latvieši triumfēja ar 94:76 (starp citu 15 punktus tajā spēlē guva mūsu kolēģis Uvis Helmanis), bet 2023.gada Pasaules kausā cīņā par piekto vietu Latvija uzvarēja ar 98:63. Kur slēpjas lietuviešu spēks un kā vērtēt Latvijas izlases līdzšinējo sniegumu, stāsta bijušais Latvijas izlases saspēlēs vadītājs, kurš jau ilgstoši Lietuvā strādā par treneri, Sandis Buškevics. Vēl šodien Turcija spēkosies ar Zviedriju, Francija tiksies ar Gruziju un Serbija spēkosies ar Somiju.

Latvijas basketbolisti 3. septembrī Eiropas čempionātā ar 109:75 pārliecinoši pārspēja Čehijas izlasi grupas pēdējā spēlē. Pirms šīs spēles jau abām komandām bija skaidrs turpmākais liktenis neatkarīgi no savstarpējās cīņas iznākuma. Latvijas valstsvienība jau ir bija nodrošinājusi 3. vietu A grupā un dalību astotdaļfinālā. Latvijas izlases pretinieki astotdaļfinālā kļūs zināmi trešdien vēlu vakarā pēc pēdējās spēles B grupā Tamperē.

Eiropas čempionāts basketbolā sācies ar sešām spēlēm vakardien, trīs notika Rīgā, bet trīs Tamperē. Pirmajā mačā Lietuva ar 94:70 uzveica Lielbritāniju, pasaules čempione Vācija ar 106:76 uzvarēja Melnkalni, bet mājinieki somi Ziemeļvalstu derbijā ar 93:90 pārspēja Zviedriju. Rīgas grupā vakar Portugāle ar 62:50 uzveica čehus, Serbija ar 98:64 viegli tika galā ar igauņiem, bet Latvija ar 73:93 zaudēja Turcijai. Visas trīs spēles Rīgā vakar klātienē vēroja arī čehu un visas pasaules hokeja leģenda Jaromirs Jāgrs. Uzreiz jāsāk arī ar lielāko jautājumu – Artūru Žagaru. Viņš trešās ceturtdaļas sākumā pameta laukumu pēc sadursmes ar pretinieku, laukumā neatgriezās. Kolēģi minēja, ka viņš pēc spēles devies prom no laukuma klibodams, bet komandas treneris Luka Banki teica, ka šodien būs lielāka skaidrība par problēmas nopietnību. Ja Žagars gadījumā nevar spēlēt, Latvija paliek ar četriem ārējās līnijas spēlētājiem, un tā ir liela problēma. Latvijas izlasei spēlē pret turkiem bija līdzīgas problēgas kā pārbaudes spēlēs - stagnējošs uzbrukums, liela paļaušanās uz tālmetienu precizitāti, kas šoreiz bija tikai 34 %, nepietiekama bumbas nogādāšana zem groza garajiem spēlētājiem. Turki aizvadīja ļoti labu spēli, realizēja 60 % tālmetienu, kā arī sasniedz izlases tālmetienu rekordu Eiropas čempionātā. Šī komanda vienā mačā vēl nekad nebija realizējusi 15 trejačus, turklāt to izdarīja ar 25 metieniem. Viņiem arī kopējā precizitāte no spēles krietni labāka, realizējot 60 % metienu, kamēr mūsējie trāpīja vien nepilnus 39 % metienu Turki bija pārāki arī teju visās pārējās statistikas ailītēs – cīņā par atlēkušajām bumbām viņi uzvarēja 40–23, savācot 12 bumbas uzbrukumā, viņiem arī 4 bloķēti metieni, mūsējiem neviena. Tāpat astoņas pārtvertas bumbas preet četrām Turcijas labā. Individuāli blāvs sniegums Kristapam Porziņģim – 10 punkti, 5 atlēkušās bumbas, tikai 3 precīzi metieni no 12. Oficiālajā FIBA statistikā viņam arī 6 kļūdas un otrs sliktākais plus mīnus rādītājs komandā –17. Viņš pats arī norādījis, ka jābūt krietni labākam. Eiropas čempionātā šodien pirmās spēles notiks arī Katovicē un Kiprā, savukārt Rīgas un Tamperes apakšgrupā būs brīvdiena. C grupā Limasolā vispirms trijos dienā spēkosies Gruzija un Spānija, plkst.18.15 – Bosnija un Hercegovina spēlēs pret Kipru, bet plkst. 21.30 – Grieķija pret Itāliju.  D grupā Katovicē trijos būs Izraēlas un Islandes mačs, sešos – Beļģijas un Francijas cīņa, bet pusdesmitos – Slovēnijas un Polijas duelis.

Šodien sākas 42. Eiropas čempionāts basketbola čempionāts vīriešu izlasēm. Tas notiks četrās valstīs – Kiprā, Polijā, Somijā un Latvijā. Katrā valstī notiks vienas apakšgrupas turnīrs, sešas komandas apakšgrupā. Un Rīgā spēlēs Latvija, Turcija, Serbija, Igaunija, Čehija un Portugāle. Eiropas čempionāta pirmajā dienā notiks sešas spēles (Rīgā un Tamperē), Rīgā šodien Čehija pret Portugāli plkst. 14.45, Latvija pret Turciju plkst. 18, bet plkst. 21.15 Serbija pret Igauniju. Latvijas izlase pirms Eiropas čempionāta aizvadīja piecas pārbaudes spēles, uzvarēja divās no tām. Vidēji katrā spēlē latvieši guva 89,8 punktus, bet ielaida 92. Latvijas basketbolisti Eiropas čempionātā tikai divreiz spēlējuši pret turkiem, abas reizes turnīrs notika tieši Turcijā. 2001.gadā Latvija zaudēja ar 82:85 (Ainaram Bagatskim 21 punkts, Kasparam Kambalam 20), bet 2017.gadā uzvarēja ar 89:79 (Kristapam Porziņģim 28 punkti 29 minūtēs). Šajā gadsimtā Latvijas basketbola izlase piedalījusies deviņos Eiropas čempionāta finālturnīros, deviņās turnīra ievadspēlēs Latvijai četras uzvaras un pieci zaudējumi. Iepriekšējais Eiropas čempionāta finālturnīrs, kurā piedalījās Latvijas izlase, notika 2017.gadā Turcijā. No tā sastāva šogad izlases divpadsmitniekā ir Kristaps Porziņģis, Dairis Bertāns, Dāvis Bertāns, Rolands Šmits un Andrejs Gražulis. Latvijas izlases sastāvā šogad ir seši Eiropas čempionāta debitanti – Klāvs Čavars, Rihards Lomažs (debitē izlasē kādā no finālturnīriem), Mārcis Šteinbergs, Artūrs Kurucs, Artūrs Žagars un Kristers Zoriks. Kopš iepriekšējā Eiropas čempionāta, kurā startēja Latvija, treneru korpusā (galvenais+asistenti) palicis tikai Artūrs Visockis-Rubenis. Turcijas izlases galvenā figūra ir Alperens Šengins – viens no Nacionālās basketbola asociācijas kluba Hjustonas "Rockets" līderiem - 19.1 punkti, 10.3 atlēkušās bumbas un 4.9 rezultatīvas piespēles. Šengins ir diezgan labs piespēlētājs, īpaši jau savā pozīcijā, bet pretstatā mūsdienu garo spēlētāju tendencēm, viņš nav labs tālmetienu izpildītājs – no trīspunktu līnijas viņš uzbrūk reti, un trāpa vēl retāk – aizvadītajā sezonā viņam tikai 23% realizētu metienu no tālās distances, bet viņš arī izpilda tikai vidēji vienu metienu. Viņš daudz efektīvāks ir groza tuvumā. Pēdējās divās pārbaudes spēlēs viņš arī uzņēmās iniciatīvu – 25 punkti pret Lietuvu, 26 punkti pret Melnkalni. Kristaps Porziņģis Šenginu salīdzina ar Nikolu Jokiču, šobrīd, visticamāk, labāko basketbolistu pasaulē.  Ja Šengins nebūs bīstams no distances, tad vīrs, kurš nekautrēsies uzbrukt no distances – Čedi Osmans, viens no Atēnu Panathinaikos līderem. Pēdējā spēlē viņam 19 punkti pret Melnkalni. Noteikti jāpiemin ārējās līnijas spēlētāju Šeinu Larkinu – naturalizēto amerikāni Turcijas izlasē. Viņš izlasē varēja arī nebūt, jo turki naturalizētā spēlētāja vietā izskatīja citas opcijas, bet Larkins pats izteica lielu vēlmi spēlēt. Viens no labākajiem uzbrūkošā stila spēlētājiem Eirolīgā pēdējos gados, tieši viņš laboja Kasparam Kambalam ilgus gadus piederošo Eirolīgas rekordu vienā spēlē gūtajos punktos. Iepriekšējā sezonā gan ne tuvu tik laba, nepilni 12 punkti spēlē, bet viņš ir ļoti labi pazīstams ar Luku Banki – abi sezonas otrajā daļā strādāja kopā Stambulas Anadolu Efes rindās. Ja spēle ievirzīsies gultnē, kur viss izšķirsies beigās, diezgan droši, ka tieši Larkins veidos uzbrukumus. Pārsvarā saspēli viņiem vadīs Kenans Sipahi, bet tieši saspēles veidošana tiek uzskatīta par turku vājo vietu. No individuāli meistarīgiem spēlētājiem jāpiemin arī Furkans Korkmazs – pēdējā spēlē pirms turnīra 10 punkti 15 minūtēs, var iemest no distances, var izprovocēt arī daudz sodu. Groza tuvumā mūsējiem jābūt vērīgiem, kad laukumā būs 2 metrus 8 centimetrus garais Adems Bona – atlētisks spēlētājs, kurš centīsies agresīvi bloķēt pretinieku metienus. Jāpiemin arī Edžans Osmani. Visticamāk, turki centīsies doties uz grozu, uzbrukt no tuvākas distances, jo tālmetienu precizitāte tomēr kopumā viņiem ir klibojusi. Tā ir augumā ražena izlase – septiņi spēlētāji ir augumā virs diviem metriem, un tikai viens ir zem metrs deviņdesmit – iepriekšminētais Larkins.

Or, you can use the tamper plugins with actions, storing the result as a token that can be for subsequent actions. I ended up using ECA Tamper in the Event Platform for a model that sends out emails if an accepted session has not yet been confirmed by the author, and the session confirmation is a specific number of days out, for example 3 days away and one day away

Federal prosecutors are urging a judge not to grant Sean "Diddy" Combs bail, accusing the music mogul of witness tampering and attempting to influence potential jurors from his cell in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. Combs, the founder of Bad Boy Records, faces serious charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for the purpose of engaging in prostitution. In a motion filed Friday, prosecutors emphasized that Combs has made relentless efforts to contact witnesses, including some of his alleged victims. They claim that Combs has gone to great lengths to manipulate the judicial process, using unauthorized communication methods and involving his children to gain sympathy from the public. "Despite being in jail, the defendant has managed to communicate with multiple individuals he should not have contacted," prosecutors wrote. "These efforts include using PAC numbers belonging to other inmates and making three-way calls to reach out to individuals, including his sons and other key witnesses." One of the most concerning allegations involves Combs' use of a third-party communication service, ContactMeASAP, which allowed him to bypass standard jail communication protocols. Details of specific calls remain redacted, but prosecutors referenced a phone call between Combs and one of his sons in October. While the contents of that call are not fully disclosed, authorities suggest it implies a strategy to silence or manipulate victims and witnesses. According to the prosecutors, the call "provides the clear inference that the defendant's goal is to blackmail victims and witnesses either into silence or providing testimony helpful to his defense." Combs has also allegedly tried to sway public perception of his case. Prosecutors highlighted an incident in which Combs' son, Justin, posted a video on Instagram of the family singing happy birthday to the jailed music mogul. Combs, who turned 55 on Nov. 4, allegedly monitored the video's analytics from jail, instructing his family on how to maximize its impact. "The defendant discussed ways to ensure that the video had his desired effect on potential jury members in this case," prosecutors claimed. Combs' legal team has pushed back, arguing that the accusations are overblown. They insist that the charges are not as strong as prosecutors claim and that certain incidents, like a 2016 video showing him allegedly assaulting a woman in a Los Angeles hotel, have been misconstrued. “The video is not evidence of a coerced 'freak off,' but rather a minutes-long glimpse into a complex but decade-long consensual relationship between Mr. Combs and Victim 1,” the defense countered in a Nov. 8 filing. Seeking another shot at bail, Combs' attorneys have proposed stringent release conditions. "Despite being in jail, the defendant has managed to communicate with multiple individuals he should not have contacted," prosecutors wrote. "These efforts include using PAC numbers belonging to other inmates and making three-way calls to reach out to individuals, including his sons and other key witnesses." One of the most concerning allegations involves Combs' use of a third-party communication service, ContactMeASAP, which allowed him to bypass standard jail communication protocols. Details of specific calls remain redacted, but prosecutors referenced a phone call between Combs and one of his sons in October. While the contents of that call are not fully disclosed, authorities suggest it implies a strategy to silence or manipulate victims and witnesses. According to the prosecutors, the call "provides the clear inference that the defendant's goal is to blackmail victims and witnesses either into silence or providing testimony helpful to his defense." Combs has also allegedly tried to sway public perception of his case. Prosecutors highlighted an incident in which Combs' son, Justin, posted a video on Instagram of the family singing happy birthday to the jailed music mogul. Combs, who turned 55 on Nov. 4, allegedly monitored the video's analytics from jail, instructing his family on how to maximize its impact. "The defendant discussed ways to ensure that the video had his desired effect on potential jury members in this case," prosecutors claimed. Combs' legal team has pushed back, arguing that the accusations are overblown. They insist that the charges are not as strong as prosecutors claim and that certain incidents, like a 2016 video showing him allegedly assaulting a woman in a Los Angeles hotel, have been misconstrued. “The video is not evidence of a coerced 'freak off,' but rather a minutes-long glimpse into a complex but decade-long consensual relationship between Mr. Combs and Victim 1,” the defense countered in a Nov. 8 filing. Seeking another shot at bail, Combs' attorneys have proposed stringent release conditions. The defense suggested home detention, 24/7 security monitoring, and severe restrictions on his ability to communicate with anyone besides his legal team. They maintain that the current pre-trial detention is excessive, given the circumstances. Combs' next opportunity to argue for bail comes as his case moves closer to trial, currently set for May 2025. As he continues to plead not guilty, the defense and prosecution remain locked in a battle over the mogul's conduct behind bars and the strength of the case against him.
