Exhilaration is probably not a word you often associate with the Christian life. Exhilaration is a combination of scary and joyful. In Mark 6, Jesus sends his disciples to preach, heal, and liberate others from the power of evil. It's both scary and joyful for them as they have to depend completely on God and the hospitality of others, and as they discover the trustworthiness of God and the joyful, life-changing power of Jesus. We, too, are sent by Jesus. But how is discipleship modelled to us? Will we enter more fully into the scary joyful life of being sent by Jesus? Into exhilarating discipleship? At The Genesis Project, we believe that every follower of Jesus is sent into the world to demonstrate and proclaim the message of Jesus to the world - at home, at work, and at play. What does that mean?
Experiencing the Trinity Sermon #9: Passionate Mission“mission Dei” which means the mission of God. Jurgen Moltmann says this:“it (mission) is not the church that has a mission of salvation to fulfill in the world; it is the mission of the Son and the Spirit through the Father that includes the church, creating a church as it goes on its way.”The triune God is Sender (Father), Sent (Son) and Sending (Holy Spirit). The eternal movement of the Father... why? ______________________________Sentness describes us. To participate in mission is to participate in the movement of God's love towards people, since God is the fountain of sending love. How then do we catch the divine infection? How do we catch the passion of the Father? After Jesus said, “As the Father has sent me, so I send you,” he breathed on them and said “Receive the Holy Spirit.” John 20:21-22What's hindering us from joining the mission in which the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are already engaged? Two main issues tend to hinder us:1. Having a church-centered approach to ministryFrogs and Lizards2. Our hesitancy to take risksJohn Wimber used to ask: do you know how to spell faith? _____________Following Jesus means that He will lead us out of our comfort zones. He will lead us into situations where we must take risks. He will lead us to take steps into unfamiliar places. Speaker: Richard Clinton

If you identify as Christian, did you know that you're called to share the gospel within your sphere of influence? Now is the time for all who dwell under the banner of Christ to "embrace their sentness" as missionaries for Jesus. Listen as Pastor Chad Stuart brings us the sixth and final part of his "Questionable" sermon series, titled: Embrace Your Sentness.
In this message, Associate Pastor Neal Nelson concludes our December Nights series about the Sentness of God. "Sending" is in God's DNA, Neal says, and because we are His people, it is also part of our identity. God sent Jesus, and He also sends us into our world.
Alex Kacere teaches on Isaiah 52-53 and John 17 about how Jesus being "sent" means that Christians also are to live sent lives.
Real life, the blessed, life, is busy. It was busy for Jesus. But it's also purposeful. Jesus said a huge “yes” to many good things and a huge “no” to other good things because He couldn't do everything. How wisely are you able to say “yes” and “no” to good things?
It was a privilege to host Kevin Bruursema from New Life Lakeview and have him minister God's Word at our Sunday Celebration. Kevin shared on living with a "sent" mindset, and he used a visual formula to illustrate that you can view here
