“Focus on building your life resume and not your paper resume. Go after things that scare you, that are so big and audacious, that you put them on your piece of paper and you keep going back to them. Those are the things that are worth pursuing.” - Connor Emeny Connor Emeny learned about the importance of encouraging and motivating others while playing ball hockey with his older brothers. In University, Connor and two friends tried out for the triathlon club to meet new people and it was that experience that prepared him for his biggest challenge. In 2016, Connor set a goal to complete his first Ironman after a teammate at university competed at the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii. Four years later, Connor achieved his goal when he became an Ironman in New Zealand; however, Connor wanted more. Connor is aiming to be the youngest person to complete an Ironman on 6 continents. When Connor was informed the Taiwan Ironman would be postponed due to the pandemic, he decided to put his training to good use by completing the 4 x 4 x 48 challenge over New Years Eve in the Rocky Mountains; the challenge, made famous by American ultrarunner David Goggins, requires participants to run four miles every four hours for 48 hours and tests runners both physically and mentally. For Connor’s next project, he decided to challenge his fellow Canadians with the introduction of Project 24. What started as a small idea for a few runners to run as far as they can in 24 hours, resulted in over $1,000 raised for charity and over 1,500 kilometres! Connor experiences are a great example of living an intentional life! To learn more about Connor, you can follow him on Instagram at: @connor.emeny
Disclaimer PG 13 Suicide discussion Patti Herrington is the founder of Firefly Outreach Ministries, Pray Mississippi, MGAP (Mississippi Standing in the Gap Prayer), and Mississippi State Capitol Coordinator for the National Day of Prayer. She serves as Mississippi General/Reformation Network at Generals International. Patti has always been an intercessor at heart and a deep passion for prayer. Tragically, her life changed forever on August 3, 2011, when she lost her youngest son Conner to suicide. Her son struggled from a very young age. He failed the second grade by one point, and that began his cycle of defeat. He never believed in himself and always felt very insecure. Kids bullied him and made fun of him. When Connor was a little boy, he would always say mom when I grow up I will be a missionary and travel all over the world. After the funeral, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee to be with her oldest son. Upon moving to Nashville, she felt in her spirit that she needed to get alone with the Lord and found a little cabin on the Piney River, seventy miles west of Nashville. During her six-month stay at the cabin, there were many nights of deep despair and crying out to God with questions flooding her mind of how did I miss it Lord and how can I live without my precious son. How can I find hope again? She had an encounter with the Lord that changed her life. Little did she know that God would take her on a journey that she would have never imagined. One day as she was worshiping before the Lord and praying, suddenly she heard in her spirit, Firefly, the Lord said to her I want you to build this ministry on three foundational stones purity, humility and honor and within the three foundational stones, I stand as Jesus, the Firefly, the light in the darkness and you my hands and feet to reach the younger generation. The Lord spoke with me about sharing my story of the empty chair and giving young people an actual picture of the aftermath of suicide that what I'm left with is an empty chair for the rest of my life. She began traveling, speaking in schools and churches, sharing my story of the empty chair. A close friend connected her to Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant and First Lady Deborah. They invited her to the governor's mansion, and she shared with them her story, heart and passion. Mrs. Bryant shared that she had lost her father to suicide and a nephew. We shared the same heart to bring awareness, to make a difference in the younger generation. Suicide is the second leading cause of death in the United States between ages 10 to 24 and has almost tripled in middle school students since 2007. As she traveled, speaking in schools and churches, she encountered many youths who were suicidal and self-harming. Many youths have father issues and feel alone. Some live in circumstances that no child should ever have to endure. Many of these youths were molested, raped, or consider themselves to be transgender/homosexual. After speaking in schools and churches she would come home and sit on her sofa praying and crying out to the Lord for the youth she had encountered that day. She was so burdened. This went on for some time and as time passed, she felt the Lord speaking loudly in her spirit SOUND THE ALARM, WAKE UP O YOU SLEEPER!!! She kept hearing the words a call to arms to “Sound The Alarm.” The Lord spoke as she was in prayer and intercession and said, Patti, you are making a difference but the only way you will truly see change in the younger generation is through prayer. She founded Pray Mississippi, a state-wide movement of prayer and fasting unifying hundreds of churches and tens of thousands of people strategically praying for every young person in the state of Mississippi. She serves as Capital Coordinator for the National Day of Prayer. In 2019 the Lord spoke to her to mobilize pastors and leaders for five months at MS State Capitol grounds monthly to pray and intercede for upcoming elections. With righteous...

Sometimes I take for granted I work with Daren Millard. Tonight we ripped a bonus Podcast from Ed's Fine Imports (best men's wear store in the world). Ed brought Maple Leaf Connor Brown in for an autograph signing. When Connor saw Daren his eyes lit up and he got all stoked to be interviewed by Millard. Seriously. You can listen to it here but goddamn can Daren interview. He put on a Masterclass while I interrupted the shit out of him with questions about team planes and food. The voice of the Maple Leafs Joe Bowen was there and if he's not the best interview in the world, I like to see who is. Bowen dishes on the HOF nod, not being on TV, and is this the best Leaf Team he's had the pleasure of calling. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

On this episode of House Flip Masters Holly is joined by guest Connor Steinbrook. Connor is a world class poker player and in 2011 when the government shut down the big poker websites his income was shut down overnight. Connor stumbled into real estate and went $60,000 in debt when he was doing his first deal but has since then become very successful in real estate. Connor says that he did not intend to be a poker player, he went to school in 2003 where he met Chris Moneymaker playing who introduced him to the online world of poker playing where anyone with money in their pocket could get online and win big. In a short time Connor ranked highly in the world of online poker and was making some serious cash. On Black Friday, as Connor calls it, April 15, 2011 the government stepped in and shut down the websites where the poker playing was going on at. Overnight Connor’s world was shut down. Connor says that he made a lot of money, but he also made a lot of mistakes and was spending his money as quickly as he was making it. When Connor had to face the job market he found that he was having a hard time finding a job because he was labeled as an ex-gambler, when he realized that he wasn’t going to get a conventional job he decided to make one for himself. Connor went into network marketing and didn’t like what he was doing; and insurance where he also didn’t like what he was doing. Connor says that he was watching the flipping shows and said to himself that was something that he knew he could do. His favorite show and the hosts were in town and Connor decided to take a trip down to where they were to talk to them. While the hosts weren’t there, there was an opportunity to sign up for a bootcamp and a national training company where he racked up a bunch of credit card debt and found himself in a situation where he needed to get out of it. Connor likes to share his story with the world because he went from the top of the world to rock bottom and he likes to let people know that it is possible to get on top of whatever situation you are in to make your life better. Connor credits real estate to saving his life and turning it around. Connor used Virtual Joint Venture Wholesaling to save his career. Connor advises that if you want to be a wholesaler you need to have a big buyer’s list and you need to let everyone know that you have it because it is easier to find people who need deals than to find that specific one deal that you are hunting for. For his first deal Connor was at an REI club and there was an individual with an ad for a property that was a better deal than Connor had ever been able to find and he knew someone that he thought was looking for a deal; Connor connected the person who was interested in that deal with the person wholesaling it. Connor says that he made only a little bit of money off that deal because he wasn’t as familiar with contracts as he should have been on that time. Connor stresses to listeners that while contracts might be stressful it is vitally important for your income and protection for you to understand the contracts that you are connecting people with. Connor says that with Virtual Joint Venture Wholesaling he never visits the property, never meets the buyer, does not go to any showings of properties, the buyer does all of these things. Connor says that he puts in 3-5 hours per deal and the deals take 7-14 days to close, he says that he uses virtual assistants to do the work on these deals and from the closing of these deals he is making $2,500 to $25,000 per deal. Connor used Virtual Joint Venture Wholesaling to transition to house flipping he feels that this was the most effective and low risk way to make money so that he could start flipping homes. Connor calls what he is doing as an exit strategy because he is helping take homes that people don’t want or can’t sell and gets them sold. Connor reminds listeners that as a wholesaler you are not a real esta
