Robert went to the University of Toledo and at the time he did not see his career possibilities in Northeast Ohio. While Robert did relocate, his passion for the region has not waned. He returns to teach Cleveland area companies how to create internship programs. He literally wrote the book on creating an internship program – Total Internship Management.Intern Bridge is a research and consulting firm, focused on experiential learning from the perspective of the employer. Intern Bridge uses research-based guidelines to advise employers on the creation of a successful internship program. Intern Bridge conducts a national internship and co-op study on college campuses since 2008. About 5 years ago they created a similar study asking questions of their employer partners. They use these results to focus in on what truly matters to students and employers. They have identified 7 key variables for an employer to focus in on creating a successful program. The first to keys are: · The organization is ready, and the team is committed· Create an intern work plan, like a syllabus for a course but more than thatThe Total Internship Management Workshop guides employers through the 7 key areas. The courses were taught in Northeast Ohio through NOCHE in the past. This fall Intern Bridge and Robert will return to the area to bring back this important workshop to the region. Make sure to subscribe to our newsletter to get an update on how to register for this event. Intern Bridge consults with small, medium, and large companies. 65% of the interns surveyed worked for companies with less than 500 employees. Small to mid-sized business really do drive the economy. The internship experience consists of three main categoriesCultureProfessional DevelopmentWork It is key to ensure that interns experience a normalized experience as it relates to culture and professional development. The work may be different, but when the other 2/3 of the experience is similar and more equitable – satisfaction goes up. The idea behind this show is pretty simple: We invite scholars, makers, and professionals out to brunch for an informal conversation about their work, and then we turn those brunches into a podcast. It’s a tough job, but somebody has to do it.For this, our season 3 finale, we’re turning the virtual interview chair around on Notre Dame alum Robert Costa, national political reporter for The Washington Post and the moderator and managing editor of Washington Week on PBS.While Robert’s work is the news, he and host Ted Fox talked more about the craft of journalism generally—and political journalism specifically—than everything going on in our country and our world in 2020. We figure you have much better outlets for content like that, such as Robert’s own reporting and that of the journalists from diverse organizations and backgrounds he talks to on Washington Week. That said, the health disparities magnified by the coronavirus and the recent examples of police brutality are just the latest reminders of how much we need the work and perspectives of African-American journalists in particular. So while it’s not directly related to this episode, we wanted to use this spot to recommend you follow Richard Jones and Victoria St. Martin, formerly of The New York Times and The Washington Post, respectively, and currently shaping the next generation of journalists through their work with students at Notre Dame. We’ve put links to both of their Twitters in the notes below. And speaking of episode notes, there’s also a video of the late Tim Russert there that you’re going to hear Robert talk about. It’s one of many great stories he shared on pursuing a career as a reporter in the nation’s capital during a time of rapid change in the news industry, a journey that for him has included succeeding the legendary Gwen Ifill at PBS. He also used the provost office at Notre Dame to illustrate how anonymous sourcing works. You know, in case we ever really need to get anything off our chests.Take good care, and we’ll be talking to you again soon. Because sources close to the podcast tell us there might be some bonus episodes on the way this summer.LINKSRichard Jones’ Twitter: @richard_g_jonesVictoria St. Martin’s Twitter: @VStMartinRobert Costa’s Twitter: @costareportsVideo Excerpts of Tim Russert’s Red Smith Lecture: “When Politicians Meet the Press”Full Transcript of Russert Lecture

This is a segment of episode #195 of Last Born In The Wilderness “Mind Control: Psychedelics, Conspiracy, & Truth In The Post-Truth Era w/ Robert Forte.” Listen to the full episode: http://bit.ly/LBWforte2 Read the 1956 Life Magazine photo essay by R. Gordon Wasson: http://bit.ly/2Hjr2y9 In this segment of my discussion with psychedelic researcher Robert Forte, I ask Robert to explore the early days of psychedelic interest in American society, initially generated in large part by the release of the 1956 Life Magazine photo essay by R. Gordon Wasson (J.P. Morgan Vice President of Public Relations) — a landmark piece that was the first to expose the American public to the use and effects of psilocybin mushrooms. As Robert explains, the C.I.A. funded this venture (http://bit.ly/2VXcr4J), and was largely behind, along with media mogul Henry Luce, the branding of the psychedelic experience for Western audiences. Why would this be the case? In the episode, we descend down this rabbit hole of inquiry we discuss the absolutely perplexing history of the popularization (and demonization) of psychedelic use in the modern era, including the overwhelming interest by Western elites to use these substances for mind control and social engineering purposes, as demonstrated in the MK-ULTRA project by the C.I.A., among other examples. Toward the end of our discussion, Robert and I get into some rather hairy topics relating to “conspiracy theory” in the “post-truth era,” as defined by the blurring of lines between what is verifiably true and what is difficult to make sense of. While Robert and I may not come to agreement on these difficult subjects, we both absolutely recognize the necessity of questioning officially sanctioned narratives of events as propagated by the corporate-and-state managed press. [INTRO: 11:06] In this episode, I speak with psychedelic scholar, editor, publisher, and researcher Robert Forte. For over three decades, Robert has collaborated with some of the most influential and well-known figures within the psychedelic movement, including R. Gordon Wasson, Timothy Leary, Stanislav Grof, and Alexander Shulgin, to name a few. In this discussion with Robert, we reference a recent article published by Marine Corp Times, titled ‘Can LSD and magic mushrooms help win wars? This Marine officer says ‘yes’.’ As the article states, the “military should join the growing list of psychedelic beneficiaries […] to become “stronger, faster and smarter than our adversaries”” through the microdosing of psychedelic compounds, like LSD and psilocybin, in order to counter “the nearly-insurmountable task of analyzing a rapidly-growing tidal wave of analytical data that, with today’s advances in technology, will only continue to expose cognitive shortfalls.” (http://bit.ly/2JfKIq1) As the use of psychedelics enters the public discourse again, and as we continue to see the normalization of their use by Silicon Valley corporate executives and others to “significantly heighten alertness, creativity, and problem solving,” we have to step back and examine the ways psychedelic use is actually reinforcing the status quo of our society. I ask Robert to explore the early days of psychedelic interest in American society, initially generated in large part by the release of the 1956 Life Magazine photo essay by R. Gordon Wasson (J.P. Five days into our trip, we arrived at Land Between the Lakes and were recording at our camp spot on a chilly 39-degree evening. We hope you enjoy the episode as we recap our travels to and around Land Between the Lakes. Here are some highlights… Lake Wappapello, Missouri Free campsite at a boat ramp near Poplar Bluff, MO. In this episode, we touched on our stay at Lake Wappapello and said we didn’t have internet. If you listened to episode #44 (where we actually were recording at Lake Wappapello) we clearly said that we had fantastic internet service. We were even doing some client work after our arrival. Clearly, we can’t remember things from one day to another. We should do a better job of journaling. Dorena Hickman Ferry, Missouri Dorena-Hickman Ferry is one of the few riverboat ferries in operation and is the only ferry on the Mississippi between Missouri and Kentucky. Whenever we can, we like to add a ferry ride to our route. The ride was $14. It was a cloudy, drizzly day. We enjoyed ourselves. Reelfoot Lake State Park, Tennessee Located near Samburg, TN, Reelfoot Lake State Park was our campsite for our second evening of camping. We were just there for the evening and didn’t take the time to tour the park. It was busy and had no remote camping. When we arrived, there were very few sites left. We paid $28.69 and had electricity and water. It was Rainy. We sacrificed price for time because we wanted to be close to Union City, TN the following morning. Dixie Gun Works, Tennessee The destination that Robert had been looking forward to for months was Dixie Gun Works. We visited on a Saturday and the hours are 8 am – 12 pm. Dixie Gun Works specializes in black powder and antique gun parts. While Robert shopped, I walked around with Oscar and did a bit of computer work. I thought he would be shopping until they closed, but he found what he wanted and meandered around for an hour or so. It was the highlight of Robert’s day. Land Between the Lakes, Tennessee & Kentucky Golden Pond Visitor Center A nice visitor’s center with a planetarium, gift shop, and displays. There, we purchased a dispersed camping permit for $14 for three nights of camping (twice). We also purchased the driving tour of the Elk and Bison Prairie for $5. Ginger Bay Campground Our first night was at Ginger Bay Campground. To get to the campsite, we drove some pretty hairy roads. It was rainy. There was no cell service. It was wonderful. Smith Bay Campground Our second and third nights were spent at Smith Bay Campground. It was terribly rainy. Since we had great internet, we decided to stay and get some work done instead of driving around in the rain. Elk and Bison Prairie The Elk and Bison Prairie was a driving tour with an admission of $5. There was no guarantee that we’d see any elk or bison, but we did. Fort Donleson National Battlefield, Tennessee Located in Dover, TN, Fort Donleson National Battlefield offers a nice driving tour with a cell phone audio narration. Hillbilly BBQ, Tennessee While in Dover, we were getting pretty hungry. We enjoyed a great lunch at Hillbilly BBQ. For photos along the way, follow BeenThereDoingThat on Instagram. Robert Bonomo is an author and publisher of The Cactus Land. Two caveats. While Robert has a strong affinity for dogs, cats and crazy people, please don't be too crazy and if Robert owes you money, now is not a good time to ask for it.
Our rental property is in between tenants and that means there's work to do. This time, we aren't doing all the work ourselves and have asked for help. Good folks like Queen City Disposal dropped off a dumpster so that we could fill it up with stuff left by the last tenants. Stuff like a mattress, a couch, and a full refrigerator full of food! We had our friends at Squeegee Squad come to clean out the gutters and give the outside of the house a good bath. A&D Mechanical will be coming in for some minor plumbing issues. As for the inside, we had a wonderful house cleaner come in and get the bulk of the cleaning complete. She had a terrible time with the kitchen sink, bathtub, and stovetop. She worked extremely hard putting in a lot of effort and elbow grease whipping the place into shape. Robert and I did some more detail work. While Robert took a glass top stove cleaning kit and got busy on the stovetop, I began work on the kitchen sink. Oh, my! What a difference! Take a look at the pictures below of what we were working with. I'm proud to say that the house cleaning is coming along quite nicely. We have hired someone to do the yard. I can't wait to see how things will look when that is complete. Our week had been full of housework and regular work and we are itching to have a get-away. We decided that the weekend would be full of time to explore roads we've never been on before. Take a look below at the map log of our weekend trips. That, at least, will tide us over until next weekend when hopefully we'll get away from our normal routine again. We hope you enjoy the episode. There's a little interruption toward the end that we hope you don't mind. ;) Hop over to our website, BeenThereDoingThat.com to see all the photos and maps that go along with this episode. Join The Higherside Chats podcast, as host Greg Carlwood talks Archon overlords, the Prison Planet and the Death Trap with guest, Robert Stanley While we all know that our current construct is built on a house of lies and our politicians and public figures are actively working to keep us trapped in servitude through slave labor and the indoctrination in education, our access to the universal truth is limited. And unfortunately, breaking free from this oppression to reclaim our consciousness may be a tougher task than we bargained for. Today's guest, Robert Stanley, has dedicated a lifetime to researching many of the threads needed to weave together a holistic perspective, and he joins The Higherside to help shed some light on the birth of human consciousness, Archon influence among elites, and Enki's role in our material world. 3:10 Greg begins by discussing the circumstances that set Robert on this path, which eventually led to a lifetime of investigative research. With events such as the infamous U.F.O.s flying around the Capitol building, being outright ignored by our government, and the role of the Vatican in carefully crafting this web of lies, Stanley explains the depths of the Archon control throughout our reality and the Satanic undercurrent serving as the foundation for Washington, D.C. Robert also recollects on one the most disturbing incidents he uncovered during his research of D.C. and the hauntingly eerie similarities it shared with the tragic events he witnessed in Malibu in 1985. 9:20 Robert clarifies his thoughts on whether elites and politicians influenced by these Archons are in cahoots with them, or if they are unwittingly suffering from mental parasites. Stanley cites Nick Redfern's book "Final Events", as he describes the Collins elite, a secret society bound to entities by an alliance that ultimately manifests through insanity and psychopathic behavior. He explains how these entities need us, and the ways they feed off of our negative energy, destruction, and bloodshed. He also elaborates on the role of Enki, or Lucifer, as a divine being, architect of worlds and creator of the mental parasites infecting the populous. 15:03 Robert details the role of digital physics in understanding human consciousness. Summarizing his extensive research, Robert depicts how the role of "consciousness is primary", takes the form of a wave, and can be measured as a digit. Stanley also states consciousness is the highest existing wave form we know of, and if slowed down transforms to energy and then eventually, matter. Under this paradigm, matter is not an illusion, but rather an extension of consciousness. 20:00 After establishing that the flying crafts and inter-dimensional beings people encounter, here on our planet, are a part of Enki's army, Robert elaborates on the harrowing saga of Enki, the brutal war he waged against his family, the co-opting of our planet by him for his empire, and the manifestation of our material world through consciousness. 27:00 Robert continues to elaborate on the depths of Enki's influence throughout our reality. While Robert recognizes that Enki's impact ranges from possession to android robots operating under the guise of being human, he also asserts that we live in a world of gray. With speculations of possessed politicians like Hillary Clinton and George H. W. Bush raging on, it can be hard not to oversimplify the story. Stanley helps to clarify who he thinks in the public eye may be suffering from Archon control. 32:42 Greg and Robert pivot to discussing Stanley's newest book regarding ancient megalithic structures in Malibu, California. Robert provides a bit of background by explaining how Enki had created an arsenal of deadly weapons on Earth, the resulting war with his family and ultimate destruction on all life on Earth. This destruction included the Chumash tribe of Malibu, whose ancient structures point to a divine knowledge and holistic understanding of h...
While Robert’s Rules of Order may seem outdated, outmoded, prescriptive, and even restrictive, you’d be surprised what a little bit of parliamentary procedure can do to make meetings much more highly productive. In this episode, I continue my discussion on Robert’s Rules of Order and how this can be incorporated into your meetings. In the last episode I gave some productivity principles for effective meetings. Continuing on the Robert’s Rules of Order theme, I want to cover some steps you can take to run more effective meetings in the modern era. Here they are.
While Robert’s Rules of Order may seem outdated, outmoded, prescriptive, and even restrictive, you’d be surprised what a little bit of parliamentary procedure can do to make meetings much more highly productive. The episode is the first part, giving some context with important productivity principles for using parliamentary procedure in meetings. When Brig. Gen. Henry Martyn Robert proposed the use of parliamentary procedure for common meetings back in 1876, he likely didn’t foresee the future of meetings as they happen today. However, while seemingly an anachronism or overly formal to some of you listening/reading (unless you yourself are a parliamentarian), Robert’s parliamentary law was as needed back in the 19th century as it is relevant today for the future of work to be done in more transparent, collaborative, and productive ways. Here’s why and how.

Robert Egger is the Founder and President of the DC Central Kitchen, where unemployed men and women learn marketable culinary skills while foods donated by restaurants, hotels and caterers are converted into balanced meals. Since opening in 1989, the Kitchen has distributed over 20 million meals and helped over 700 men and women gain full-time employment. While Robert still maintains a day to day presence at the Kitchen, he devotes much of his time nationally, as the Director of the V3 Campaign (www.v3campaign.org), which is working to get the voice, value and votes of the nonprofit sector recognized in every election in America.Recorded On: Wednesday, May 6, 2009
