The legendary Loudon Wainwright III, whose career has spanned over five decades, is known for his deeply personal songwriting and sharp wit – and oversharing. The patriarch of the Wainwright folk dynasty (which includes Rufus, Martha, their late mother Kate McGarrigle, as well as Lucy and her mother Suzy Roche), Loudon reflects on the balance between oversharing and maintaining privacy in his music in this episode of Basic Folk. He candidly discusses the lines he draws when writing about family and how his experiences with grief have shaped his art. I'm proud to say that I think we found a line he would not cross in our conversation! Listen in to hear history in the making. We also discuss his latest live album, 'Loudon Live in London,' and his unique ability to unsettle and surprise his listeners during performances. We talk about his late father and namesake, Loudon Wainwright Jr., the famous writer for LIFE Magazine, who is present in everything LW3 does. We dive into his early days, including insights on his debut album thanks to a recent essay by Morrissey that highlights its significance. Moz points out that Wainwright has "the pep and readiness of someone who knows we will all soon be skeletons." After reading Loudon's very detailed memoir, Liner Notes, I had to ask him about his relationship to memory and also his reputation for memory. Loudon also touches on his acting career, revealing how roles in popular films – especially Big Fish and Knocked Up – have introduced him to new audiences. Elsewhere he reveals that he was at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival where Dylan went electric and shares his memories of that fateful day.Follow Basic Folk on social media: https://basicfolk.bio.link/ Sign up for Basic Folk's newsletter: https://bit.ly/basicfolknews Help produce Basic Folk by contributing: https://basicfolk.com/donate/ Interested in sponsoring us? Imagine a giant funnel hovering over the Earth like some weird alien spaceship sucking up stuff from the Earth below. Remember the movies with the gigantic alien attack ships hovering over cities, casting shadows between the cities and the sun? To complete the image, imagine that from beneath each hovering monster in the sky, long vacuum tubes are reaching down to suck up anything of value: buildings, beautiful parks, ranches and farms, vehicles of all kinds, and people… lots of people. And as a special touch, dollars are being sucked up like leaves from trees in great clouds to disappear into the hovering crafts. Who are these omnipresent destroyers of life from whom we cannot hide, darkening our skies and sucking up the wealth and the lives of the people on Earth? They are from among us, the super-wealthy and the super-powerful, those monsters we call the global predators. Our guest today, Elizabeth Nickson, unknowingly helped stir up this mess in my imagination. Among other insights, she explains something that most people do not yet grasp — the vast accumulation of wealth created by humanity over the past hundreds of years has disappeared into the hands of the global predators, leaving the average family worse off today with two working parents than it was with one working member in the 1950s and 1960s. In other words, without all the destruction and stealing by our national and global leaders, we would all be relatively wealthy today. For the last century, there has been an outright destruction of wealth, with unceasing warfare and bloated bureaucracies that spend while generating nothing at all. And there has been the destruction of our money through inflation, which occurs when the government prints money and funnels it directly into the banks for use and distribution to their own interests. While the wealthy manipulate the new money to satisfy themselves, its value drops for ordinary people who never even see it. That's my own brief analysis. Wars make the extremely wealthy and powerful even more wealthy and powerful; otherwise, they would not have so many of them. They build the weapons that destroy, and they build the reconstruction, all the while siphoning off (money laundering) huge amounts of it. That's an egregious example that might be called the Military-Industrial-Banking And Bureaucracy Complex or some variation of that. But that “complex” is one of many existing in every single aspect of human life on a grand scale, from the United Nations to the global corporations and the multi-billionaires — run by predatory capitalists, progressives, and communists alike — in all their activities. But I've left out one of the most important ways of simultaneously ruining and sapping our wealth — government regulations. I don't think many of us have given enough attention to this. Among her many areas of enormous expertise, Elizabeth Nickson has starred at displaying how government regulations have gone beyond all reason and now are largely used as the cutting edge of the global flattening of humanity. Our guest, returning for the third time, is journalist Elizabeth Nickson, a literal fountain of brilliant insights garnered when she held such positions as European Bureau Chief of Life Magazine and actually knew and interviewed many of those we now call the global predators. Listening to our interview with Nickson will, at times, open your eyes wide with new information and, at times, shut them to seek relief. But first, some thoughts she stimulated me to write — and then be sure to listen to her interview with Ginger Breggin. To conclude our trilogy of interviews with prominent tech journalists to celebrate the upcoming twentieth anniversary of the DLD Conference, today's interview is with David Kirkpatrick, author of The Facebook Effect and founder of Techonomy Media. In contrast with Steven Levy and John Markoff, whose attitude toward Silicon Valley doesn't seem have dramatically changed, Kirkpatrick's thinking has undergone quite a radical shift over the last twenty years. As he acknowledges, he's been transformed from a Facebook believer into one of its most acute critics. And, in contrast with Levy and Markoff, Kirkpatrick's intellectual attention has also broadened, shifting from the internet to focusing on technological fixes for global warming.David Kirkpatrick is a longtime technology and business journalist, author and media entrepreneur, known for his work connecting technology developments to societal impact and progress. He is an expert on internet companies and social media, and is now focusing especially on climate tech and the climate economy. He is also known for moderating on-stage conversations with tech leaders. Kirkpatrick's bestselling 2010 book, The Facebook Effect: The Inside Story of the Company that is Connecting the World, was published in 32 languages, including Catalan and Vietnamese. It was a finalist for the Financial Times/Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year as well as the Gerald Loeb Award. In subsequent years, he has written extensively about the growing societal harms caused by Facebook/Meta and social media broadly. His articles include 2018's Facing Facebook's Failure for Techonomy, and earlier that same year, The Facebook Defect, in Time Magazine. In December 2023 he published Vinod Khosla Can See the Future: It Just Got Hazy for a Minute in The Information. Kirkpatrick founded and for 12 years led Techonomy Media, which hosted conferences on technology, innovation, business, and their connection to social progress. Techonomy's mission was to highlight ways technology could improve society and human lives. Among his numerous onstage interviews there were Mark Zuckerberg, Marc Benioff, John Chambers, Commerce Sec. Penny Pritzker, economist Jeffrey Sachs, Patrick Collison, DARPA Chief Arati Prabhakar, Sen. Cory Booker, Nandan Nilekani, and Sean Parker. He also has served as a moderator at Burda Media's DLD conference for 19 years, interviewing a wide range of leaders including Mark Zuckerberg. Kirkpatrick worked for Time Inc. for 30 years, mostly at Fortune Magazine, where he was for many years senior editor for internet and technology. Many years earlier, while serving as a copy clerk at Life Magazine, he served as unit chairperson of The Newspaper Guild at Time Inc. He founded and hosted Fortune's Brainstorm conference series beginning in 2001 and for six years wrote its Fast Forward column. At Brainstorm he hosted and interviewed Pres. Bill Clinton, Israeli Pres. Shimon Peres, Senator John McCain, and numerous technology and business CEOs. He was a formal participant and moderator at the World Economic Forum in Davos for 21 years, and for 13 years was a member of the Forum's International Media Council, consisting of 100 top global media leaders. He also served for many years as a contributing editor at Bloomberg Television. He is a recipient of the 2012 Silicon Valley Visionary Award, awarded alongside Elon Musk, Jim Breyer, and Sal Khan. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.Named as one of the "100 most connected men" by GQ magazine, Andrew Keen is amongst the world's best known broadcasters and commentators. In addition to presenting KEEN ON, he is the host of the long-running How To Fix Democracy show. He is also the author of four prescient books about digital technology: CULT OF THE AMATEUR, DIGITAL VERTIGO, THE INTERNET IS NOT THE ANSWER and HOW TO FIX THE FUTURE. Note: At the end of the episode, Wiz states the next review will be All The King's Men directed by Robert Rossen. Unfortunately, Wiz has a cold and will not be recording an episode with Zero this week. So, next week, Zero and Wiz will review The Manchurian Candidate directed by John Frankenheimer. Sorry about that. Wiz DOES NOT RECOMMEND Thirteen Days Historical films can be a pretty thorny premise to get right. Either you can evoke the feeling of a person or time in history or emulate it so damn well it feels like you are in the room with them. Thirteen Days, Roger Donaldson's retelling of the Cuban Missile Crisis, is a film that I'm not sure what it's trying to do. If it's trying to be an emulation of the time and the people involved, there are a few things that the film fumbled on. Let's start with the main characters: Bobby Kennedy, played by Steven Culp, is probably the best of the three who looks and sounds the part well enough, but he does slip in specific scenes. John F. Kennedy, played by Bruce Greenwood, looks the most like his real counterpart, but sounds nothing like him except when he's upset. Kenneth O'Donnell, played by Kevin Costner, is the worst of the three…and of course he is the one you see the most. Not only does Costner not even look like him, he also doesn't sound like him. In fact, Costner has one of the worst New England accents I've heard in a film. If you were going the route of feeling like you are in the room with these titans of history, the illusion is pretty much shattered when you can look on screen and you have to remind yourself who these guys are supposed to play. Now, if the film is trying to evoke a feeling of a person or place in time, the film takes a few stylistic choices that don't work the way that the film intends: The film has scenes that utilize archival footage from the times. It's effective at first, but then the film randomly implements it with no precise reason. There are scenes that are archival, but there are also that have actors playing the scene and neither seem to be of any importance. Another thing that doesn't have a good reason to be there is the transition to black and white. There are scenes that randomly start in black and white then transition to color…and the reason Roger Donaldson gives is he wanted to create a historical feeling akin to photos from Life Magazine. This fails since it feels randomly placed. These issues are further compounded by the slow, drawn out nature of the film. A slower pace could help with creating tension or developing characters to become more engrossed in the film…but the film does neither. The first hour goes on for way too long being hung up on details that could have been cut for brevity or pace. The film does pick up towards the second half, but the need to hasten the film is still desired. In honesty, Thirteen Days is also kind of a throwback for historical epics as well. The film is a clear good guy/bad guy dynamic with a political thriller feel…and as such the moral grays that you may be used to now is not present. But if you look at what I'm saying and say “actually I kind of miss movies like this”, then you should give the film a try. But Thirteen Days, as accurate as it may be, is a film that could have actually benefited from some creative licensing.

It's August 1944: the Liberation of Paris is underway, and France appears to slowly be extricating herself from Nazi control. But, on the French western shores, in Saint-Malo, the deafening sounds of artillery fire continue to punctuate daily life, with the Germans making a last-ditch attempt to hold the coastal town. And when the U.S. Army arrive to lay siege to the German positions, the last person expected to be among the Allied forces is a photographer, let alone a female one… Until the publication of The Lives of Lee Miller in 1985 by her son, Antony Penrose, very little was known of the woman who forced her way into occupied Europe, and documented the true horrors of the Nazi campaign. Her photographs capturing Nazi evil went around the world, exposing the atrocities of the Holocaust and the harrowing aftermath of the death of Hitler. Now, her incredible story is being told in a new film, LEE, with Kate Winslet taking on the role of the formidable title character. From a marriage to a man famed for dying himself blue, to a staged photoshoot in Hitler's bathtub, Join Tom and Dominic as they explore the extraordinary story of Lee Miller. Joining Winslet is Andy Samberg playing Life Magazine photographer David E. Scherman; Alexander Skarsgård playing English Surrealist painter, photographer, poet and biographer Roland Penrose; Marion Cotillard playing Solange D'Ayen, the fashion director of French Vogue and close friend of Miller's: Josh O'Connor playing Tony, a young journalist and Andrea Riseborough playing British Vogue Editor Audrey Withers. Here comes Janet with her damn four bean salad! This is the first recipe our mom (Hi Mom!) included in the recipe book she gave to us. It's perfect for the summer when you don't feel like cooking or if your kitchen is under renovation like Bootie's. We made it a little more gourmet by using fresh green beans and fresh herbs. So let's celebrate the "thousand extra hands" that we get when we open a can of beans! We discuss the history of industrialized food and recommend the January 3, 1955 issue of Life Magazine, along with a documentary about food and one called "Brandy Hellville and the cult of fast fashion." As always, we give updates on our current crafting projects.
At 4:45PM on Independence Day 1944, The Raymond Scott Orchestra took to the air for fifteen minutes of music on CBS' WABC in New York. Born Harry Warnow on September 10th, 1908 in Brooklyn to Ukrainian Jewish parents, his older brother Mark, also a musician, encouraged Harry's career. He graduated from the Juilliard School of Music in 1931 where he studied piano, theory, and composition. He began his professional career as a pianist for the CBS Radio house band under his birth name. Mark, older by eight years, conducted the orchestra. Harry adopted the pseudonym "Raymond Scott" to spare his brother charges of nepotism when the orchestra began performing the pianist's unique compositions. In late 1936, Scott assembled a band from among his CBS colleagues. Although it was a six-piece group, he called it the Raymond Scott Quintette, joking with a reporter that calling at a sextet might take one's mind off the music. Scott believed in composing and playing by ear. He composed not on paper, but "on his band"—by humming phrases to his sidemen or by demonstrating riffs and rhythms on the keyboard, instructing players to interpret his cues. Also a sound engineer, he recorded the band's rehearsals, using them as references to develop his compositions. Scott reworked, re-sequenced, and deleted passages, and added themes from other discs to construct finished pieces. While he controlled the band's repertoire and style, he rarely took piano solos, preferring to direct the band from the keyboard and leave solos and leads to his sidemen. He also had a penchant for adapting classical motifs into his work. Independence Day 1944 was celebrated with remembrance, prayer, and War Bond drives. Norman Rockwell's July 1st Saturday Evening Post cover featured a wounded veteran holding up a $100 war bond. The July 3rd cover of LIFE Magazine featured a G.I with a leg wound being helped by a compatriot. There was a prominent sticker on top that said “buy war bonds.” Meanwhile in Bedford, New Hampshire, an unexpected explosion at the John P. Bedricks powder works sent nearly seventy-miles of New England into a panic as windows as far away as Worchester, Massachusetts were destroyed. Despite this, there were no fatalities. At 4PM, NBC celebrated the Treasury Department's “Salute To the Navy” from Philadelphia's Navy Yard. Speakers included Secretary of the Treasury Henry Morgenthaur Jr., and Secretary of the Navy James Forrestal. In New York, Edward J. Nathan, Manhattan's Borough President, addressed a rally of Jewish war veterans at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in Riverside Drive, while the Knights of Columbus and sixty-seven affiliated councils, sponsored a parade and band concert in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. That evening, a Special Fifth War Bond Rally was held at Lewisohn Stadium in City College.

Imagine being part of the orbiting circle of participants who make up the constellation around the Royal Family of Great Britain. Our guest, journalist Elizabeth Nickson, gave us a glimpse of today's program. As a reporter with the London Bureau of Time, then Life Magazine, and later other major outlets, Elizabeth was assigned to get close and ultimately to get an interview with Princess Diana. This process was battle planned out over a couple of years with a chef, dining room, clothing allowance and a social secretary who had close connections with the Royal Family. Elizabeth described preparations that needed to be done to make her way into the trust and engagement with the family, including dozens of events and private affairs, culminating in being able to host a party for Princess Diana. She was also able to interview Margaret Thatcher, albeit about wardrobe and clothing, not affairs of state. From this beginning, we delved into the world of power and the encroaching evil that we see, especially in the increasing signs of the practice of the occult—most recently, the unveiling of the first official portrait of King Charles. But the more deeply that we try to identify and expose wickedness—pedophilia, the occult, the Global Predators, the more we need to be girded in faith and the protection of God. An important reminder to us all as we navigate our way through this time of world upheaval. But where is God? One of the most striking observations Elizabeth made about modern life was that she noticed that old documents always spoke of virtue, faith, and the Christian love of God. These include letters and casually written communications as well as documents of the state. So many old documents made plain the fact that God was a prominent aspect of daily life. Now, we don't see that embrace of Godliness. In contrast to the world of English royalty that Elizabeth was assigned to connect with and write about as a young journalist, Elizabeth is thoughtful and caring. In her Christmas of 2023 Substack essay, “We Hold These Truths to be Self-Evident,” she said: “We stand within a massive majority, but we are facing the same evil that the American founders faced: people who want to force us into prison-cities as serfs, harvest our labor, eat our energy, and will do any foul thing they can, because if we win, they will be pursued to the gates of hell. In the face of their evil, we must be sober-minded, methodical, and implacable. And take prisoners even if it takes fifty years to prosecute them all and flush out their crimes against us. Because this abomination, this Absurdistan, must never happen again.” Learn more about Dr. Peter Breggin's work: https://breggin.com/ See more from Dr. Breggin's long history of being a reformer in psychiatry: https://breggin.com/Psychiatry-as-an-Instrument-of-Social-and-Political-Control Psychiatric Drug Withdrawal, the how-to manual @ https://breggin.com/a-guide-for-prescribers-therapists-patients-and-their-families/ Get a copy of Dr. Breggin's latest book: WHO ARE THE “THEY” - THESE GLOBAL PREDATORS? Today on the Rarified Heir Podcast we are talking to Ed Eckstine, son of singer Billy Eckstine and actress/model Carolle Drake. Our conversation with Ed was fun, fascinating, edifying and above all, full of stories of his life as the child of a celebrity but also his own career in the music industry. Our only regret was not keeping Ed for another 90 minutes because he has stories for days. We barely scratched the surface. Part two is a must. Many of us only know Billy Eckstine as a jazz & pop singer whose baritone voice and smooth delivery made him one of the most in-demand singers from the 1930s well into the 1950s. But he also was a guitar player, trumpet player and this Billy Eckstine & his Orchestra was the first Bebop Big Band and his players and vocalists were a who's who of Jazz - Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Dexter Gordon, Miles Davis, Art Blakey, Sarah Vaughan, Pearl Bailey, and Lena Horne all were part of the band in the 1950s. By 1950, his popularity rivaled Sinatra - which as you will hear wasn't a rivalry at all between these two friends. It was Eckstine's talent as well as his good looks and dapper attire that made him perhaps the first black entertainer to become a crossover star in the segregated 1950s America. But as we learn from our conversation with Ed, one photo in a major American magazine essentially put an end to all that in the must ugly and vile way possible. But to hear Ed tell it, this terrible incident was a blessing in disguise as it opened up doors for him outside America and made him an international star, touring well into the 1980s in Europe, Australia and Japan. Our conversation with Ed also focused on his own career in the music industry that took him from journalist to publicist to head of Quincy Jones Qwest Productions to stints at Polygram, Arista and as the President of Mercury Records. As Nabil Ayers in the New York Times said, “Eckstine's story is unique because he was the first black person to be let in — to be allowed by the predominantly white music industry to helm one of its largest entities.” This is the Rarified Heir Podcast and everyone has a story. Ed Eckstine's is like none other.
Webster Groves native Karlie Kloss took the modeling world by storm in the 2010s before launching a highly successful effort to connect young women with computer coding and, more recently, helping relaunch Life Magazine. But on Monday, Kloss discussed another passion in an exclusive interview with St. Louis Public Radio: Her advocacy for abortion rights in Missouri and around the Midwest. “I'm one of four daughters. I grew up here in the Midwest. My father is a physician. The idea of reproductive care was never political in my house,” Kloss said. “It's devastating to me the reality of what is happening and how it has become so politicized. Because to me, this is a conversation that belongs between an individual and their physician and an individual and their loved ones. To me, politicians should not be involved.”

A guy who kills an unborn baby does not have the right to choose, but the mother who kills her unborn baby does have a right to choose. Here's the question: Does the mother love the child more than the thug, or less than the thug? But whence comes the right to choose? The worldview of feminism, humanist autonomy, and existentialism is the source of it all. This program includes: 1. The World View in 5 Minutes with Adam McManus (More US missionaries rescued from Haiti, Abortion Kill Pill manufacturer complains it is harmed, Life Magazine makes a comeback) 2. It's Good Friday, March 29th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldView.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus The struggle of a Pakistani Christian student One young Pakistani Christian woman explained how she has been discriminated against in her Muslim-majority nation, according to International Christian Concern. She said, “I faced discrimination at my university while studying at a private university in Lahore. Being the only Christian student in my academic department, a teacher deliberately used to give me an “F” grade because of my faith. I repeated that course three times during the tenure of that teacher, failing to secure a grade other than ‘F.' However, I managed to get an ‘A' as soon as the teacher was replaced.” In John 15:18, Jesus said, "If the world hates you, know that it has hated Me before it hated you.” Open Doors reports that Pakistan is the seventh most difficult nation worldwide in which to be a Christian. More US missionaries rescued from Haiti More U.S. missionaries stranded in Haiti, after criminal gangs overran the country in late February, have been rescued after weeks of waiting, reports The Christian Post. In a Facebook statement Sunday night, Jill Dolan of Love A Neighbor ministry who has been working as a missionary in Haiti since October 2013 with her husband, Ryan, reported that she was among those waiting to be rescued. In the midst of national turmoil, a helicopter rescued the Dolan Family. She wrote, “The five in our family who were stuck in Port-au-Prince for 24 days are out of harm's way. However, we leave behind our three children that we are in the process of adopting as well as over 200 kids in our care at the orphanage.” Dolan arrived in Florida at 9 p.m. Saturday. She explained on Facebook that “the crisis in Haiti reaches way beyond just where the gangs are present. The stronghold on the country and the ability for goods and gasoline to travel freely throughout the country have been greatly impacted. Skyrocketing prices, business shutdown, banks closed ... the list goes on. Just when we think it can't get worse in Haiti, it does.” Jill Dolan and her family's Love A Neighbor ministry lived out Matthew 22:37-39 in which Jesus said, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'” Biden officials talking about a multinational force in Gaza Biden administration officials are in preliminary “conversations” about options for stabilizing post-war Gaza, including a proposal for the Pentagon to help fund either a multinational force or a Palestinian peacekeeping team, reports Politico.com. The options being considered would not involve U.S. troops on the ground, according to Defense Department officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity. Instead, Pentagon funding would go toward the needs of the security force and complement assistance from other countries. Asked for comment, a senior Biden administration official said “we are working with partners on various scenarios for interim governance and security structures in Gaza once the crisis recedes.” It could be weeks or months before Washington and its partners approve any plan, especially since regional players want to see a commitment to a so-called two-state solution before seriously engaging with the options. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has categorically rejected the “two state solution” which would establish an independent State of Palestine alongside the State of Israel, in the region west of the Jordan River. Chemical abortion has 4 times the complications as surgical abortion On Tuesday, March 26th, the Supreme Court held a 90-minute long hearing about the Abortion Kill Pill, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Today, 63% of mothers who choose to abort do so chemically with mifipristone, not surgically. First, it's deadly to the baby, blocking the hormone called progesterone which God created to stabilize the lining of the uterus. This, in turn, cuts off blood and nourishment to the baby who then dies of starvation inside the mother's womb. Second, the Abortion Kill Pill is dangerous to the mothers who swallow it. Chemical abortions have four times the complications compared to surgical abortions. Indeed, since it came on the market in 2000, the percent of visits to the Emergency Room as a result of chemical abortions, has soared by 500%. In 2020 alone, when 500,000 mothers aborted their babies with the Abortion Kill Pill, 25,000 of them either went to the emergency room or required surgical follow-up. Because they were unable to expel the dead baby, they experienced hemorrhaging, bleeding, and infection which can be life threatening. That's why in August 2023, the Fifth Circuit Court reinstated three minimal standards for the Abortion Kill Pill which: limited the use of the Abortion Kill Pill to the first 7 weeks of pregnancy. ended mail-order chemical abortions. and required in-person medical visits prior to the Abortion Kill Pill being prescribed. Abortion Kill Pill manufacturer complains it is harmed According to Live Action's reporting, there were “four shocking admissions” from the case, including the claim by Danco, the private Abortion Kill Pill manufacturer, that restricting their sales would “injure” their business. Justice Samuel Alito reiterated to Danco attorney Jessica Ellsworth that the Fifth Circuit Court's ruling would not prohibit Danco from selling mifepristone, the Abortion Kill Pill. However, it would prohibit it from being sent through the mail which would limit its sales. ALITO: “I gather your injury is that you think you are going to sell more if the restrictions that previously were in place were lifted.” ELLSWORTH: “Yes.” ALITO: “So, you're going to make more money?” ELLSWORTH: “The injury is that we are prevented from selling our product in line with FDA's scientific judgement about the safe and efficacious use of the drug.” ALITO: “And you're going to be harmed because you're going to sell more.” ELLSWORTH: “Certainly, a company's ability to market its product is a part of how it considers the regulatory scheme that governs its conduct.” Life Magazine makes a comeback And finally, more than two decades after it was shuttered by Time Inc., Life Magazine will be revived, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Shuttered in 2000, Life became known for using photographs to tell stories of the news of the week. Bedford Media, the holding company founded by model and entrepreneur Karlie Kloss and her husband, investor Josh Kushner, has acquired the publishing rights to Life. Josh is the brother of Jared Kushner, Donald Trump's son-in law. Kloss said, “We see Life as an uplifting and unifying voice in a chaotic media landscape.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Good Friday, March 29th in the year of our Lord 2024.
