Live from Pawnee: A Parks and Recreation Fan Rewatch Podcast
This week, Mark and Allen break down the Episode where Chris tells himself to ... STOP ... POOPING!!! The flu is sweeping across Pawnee, with Ann caring for many of the sick, including April (who still resents Ann for kissing Andy). While Ron visits April, she asks him not to tell Andy she's there. With April gone, Ron does ask Andy to fill in as an assistant, believing (correctly) that Andy will be ineffective. Meanwhile, Leslie is preparing for a presentation with the Pawnee Chamber of Commerce, and it becomes clear Leslie is not feeling well, but she won't admit it because of the importance of the presentation. Ben finally takes a reluctant Leslie to the hospital, Ann admits her, and Ben tells her not to worry, he and Tom will do the presentation, which Leslie is not happy about. A bit later, a flu-ridden Chris is checked into the hospital, having a total physical breakdown. Ann has been dating Chris, and really likes him, but fears he is too perfect... until now. Meanwhile, instead of helping Ben prepare for the presentation, Tom abandons him to hang out at a spa. As the day goes on, Ron and Andy bond over many things, including food, drink, football, and politics, with Andy eventually feeling comfortable enough with Ron to tell him about his problems with April. To top things off, a delirious and over-medicated Leslie escapes the hospital and heads back to City Hall to do the presentation herself! Never fear - as always, we answer all the questions others are afraid to even verbalize, such as ... Will April's constant poking at Ann make her break? Will Andy ever find out April is at the hospital? How will Ann feel about Chris now that he is essentially a puddle of goo? Does Tom ever come back from the spa? Will Leslie make it to City Hall? Will Ben decide to introduce himself musically? Will Ron and Andy ever successfully complete a passing play outside? Will the Harvest Festival fail before it even starts? Loyal podcast viewers, this is one of the BEST episodes of the series - fight us about it! Or, just tune in and enjoy it. Yes, that's probably better. This week, Mark and Allen break down the Episode that introduces the inside of the famous Snakehole Lounge nightclub! A letter to the department makes Leslie think she is being named Woman of the Year, but instead it is going to Ron! While Ron knows this is a dumb mistake, he uses it to tease Leslie for caring about "crap like this", fully intending to later recommend her as the rightful recipient. Meanwhile, Tom is doing his best to invest in the Snakehole Lounge, but the shares are $10,000. Dreaming of being a club owner, Tom seeks assistance from several people, including Donna, Jerry, Mark, and the fast-talking Jean-Ralphio. Finally, Andy has been living with bandmate Burly rent free, and is told to change his living habits or move out. This leads April to help Andy find his own place... perhaps one close to April's place so they can carpool to work together? As always, we attack the scariest of questions, such as... How do you create a Bag of Smells, and what would that experiment teach us? What is a Smurf Girl Trophy? How would Tom's face look on legal tender? When will Andy realize April is WAY into him? Loyal podcast viewers, this is a good one, be sure not to miss it! NOTE: Constantine asks you not spill your soup all over everything - take it like a man. On Crushing Doubt, we often have on pain sufferers in the process of recovery or having conquered many, or all, of their symptoms. Today, I'm sharing Ron's journey from muscle and nerve pain to nearly pain free in just four sessions. Don't get discouraged if this isn't happening yet for you, though, as this just happens to illustrate how quickly things CAN change when some of the core principles hit at just the right angle and time for the sufferer. We began by exploring his emotional life and getting his themes more articulated, which led to some powerful emotional relief and symptom reduction. This all came about by learning to understand the communication of the symptoms between the unconscious self and the body. By translating it into conscious thought, Ron gained some freedom and relief. We then had another breakthrough in our second and third sessions, related to doubt. While Ron had always doubted everything, we used this as a strength, of sorts, because his doubts were easy to articulate and to learn from with respect to which angles he needed to feel settled in his belief in the science and logic. When this was more settled, he found even more relief. But the biggest breakthrough came in our session about power, in which he finally understood the onset of his nerve pain and how it related — to the second — to a decision about being powerful or not. Ron shares that he continues to do well in his recovery, making new gains in his own work on it, using the principles he learned with me. It is a pleasure to share his story of relief and growth.

While Ron Kellish was working for a big four accounting firm in Chicago, he got a call from Larry Ames, who recently began his new earthmoving company, Bemas Construction. He and Larry had worked together in the past, and as Ron admits, Larry was the only one who could've talked him into coming back to Denver.Larry Ames grew up building the family business, Ames Construction, into the behemoth it is today. After helping to move 100 million yards of earth for the new Denver International Airport, Larry wanted to return to his roots by leaving the big family business and starting Bemas after buying a small scraper spread.Since Larry's always in the field and doesn't even have an office at Bemas' headquarters, he's relied on Ron and others to help lead the business while he does what he loves: moving dirt. While Ron's title is CFO, he wears tons of hats and touches all aspects of the business. In this episode, we talk about the money side of earthmoving, why it's essential to take care of people, and how Bemas structures its benefits to give everyone a lot more than just a paycheck. To learn more about Bemas, check out their website at https://bemas.net/
While Ron's coaching career has been within a 30 mile radius, his influence in our sport reaches world wide. Today we explore Ron's track background as an athlete, the influences that led him into coaching, and multiple stories each stop of the way. Throughout the episode, Ron drops nuggets of value to coaches today; "You are in the entertainment business!" So thankful for Ron to sit down with us for this important episode of the Connections podcast.
It's too bad Flight of the Prince has already been taken, because that really would have been a much better title for this chapter--well, or, The Carrows Come to Call. While Ron and Hermione rush off to find a "bathroom," Harry acts on Dumbledore's orders and tries to tract down the missing diadem (which, in case you forgot, is a bit like a crown). Finally, as the entire DA and Order rush out to fight in a most organized fashion, the prodigal Weasley son returns and finally gets to meet his sister-in-law. Brent, Joseph, and Brandon welcome Ron Cooks, a great friend of the show, to Breaking Business Barriers. Ron Cooks is a proud military veteran of 25 years, turned real estate professional. Ron shares a story from Operation Desert Storm and explains the positives and negatives of wearing a MOPP suit in desert temperatures exceeding 120 degrees. These suits were designed to help keep our soldiers safe against chemical weapons. While Ron was preparing for his retirement from the military, he was selling his home as a for sale by owner. That process of selling his home opened the doors to his career in real estate. Ron classifies himself as an entrepreneur in transition. He explains how being constantly in transition better helps his clients and team members. His innovative approach as a leader has led to newfound success. Ron's advice to aspiring professionals - persistence and consistence. As we close out our episode with Ron, he shares a comical story about a very special home for sale. It's a knee slapper for sure.

While Ron continues to fail miserably at Quidditch, Harry continues to fail miserably at Occlumency, maybe because his visions make him feel special...important? However, it's not all doom and gloom this chapter. Believe it or not, Harry's interview with Rita sends the Quibbler to reprint faster than any previous issue, even those about Crumple-Horned Snorkacks! And Trelawney's sacking leads to a game move only Dumbledore could pull off. Please consider supporting us on Patreon! www.patreon.com/realweirdsisters.Spoiler warning! While Ron and Chris face off over hamburgers, Leslie is shocked to be matched with Tom by a dating website. Meanwhile, Katy, Jacob and Kirk have concerns about workplace dating.
Silver Surfer, Witchblade, Superman, Tarzan, Quasar, Cyberforce, Batman - these are just some of the characters Ron Marz has written on. While Ron has an extraordinary breadth of work under his belt, in some parts he's more famous, or infamous depending on your opinion, for his Emerald Twilight run on the Green Lantern.Ron was a guest at Fan Con in Cape Town recently, and took time out of a hectically busy to chat about many topics including his path to geekdom, how he came to write THAT Green Lantern story arc and we chat for a little about the Knicks (sorry, non-sports fan).We also have special guest appearances by Sean Izaakse and by Variants Cover member Nas Hoosen, who joined Ron in a very special quiz.
While Ron, Conor, and Josh all agreed it was an exemplary week of comics, there’s a lot of mud slung this week. Something’s in the air, apparently. Either way, all the hail the coming of Space George Lucas! In celebration, we went long. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Andy grotesques return to the airwaves marks a amazing feat, as he attempts to emulate spinal tap's "3 concerts in one day" (back in 92), by doing Generation Annihilation Powerchord& a brand new show at a mission station this evening!!If thats not Metal ..i don't what is!!! Today's show Andy spotlighted the mostly unknown Asian Metal scene from China and Taiwan, While Ron provided long awaited brand new tracks from Anthrax, Dream theater and Opeth, as well as other Metallic might! PROUD TO BE LOUD!!!!
April 25, 2010 - While Ron was still trapped in Chicago, the show must go on, so it's only appropriate that Chicago's own Chris Neseman stepped up to yak about this week's comics with Josh and Conor. Coincidence? Give us back our side-burned friend, Neseman! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
