This week Cooper and Nolan are celebrating the holiday season with one of the most controversial Christmas movies ever - SILENT NIGHT DEADLY NIGHT! It's been called worthless, sleazy, exploitative, and downright offensive, but could it also be a groundbreaking portrayal of PTSD and its effect on developmental psychology? Probably not, but that won't stop us from trying to make the case! With bizarre performances, ridiculous plot twists, and enough holiday-themed deaths to fill even the biggest stocking, this episode (featuring a beer from Wychwood Brewery) is a real "slay" ride!

Episode 123 - Secret Syncronicities In Cities In Sync With Syncronicities Three years ago we wrote down a list of seemingly random words. Mysterious emails, goblins, paranormal investigators, disappearing medical professionals, mothmen, conspiracies, prophecies, spirit boxes, Kentucky, Canada, Newkirk, taroh cards, abandoned train tunnel, spirit box, 3rd order, ink and black. We didn't know why we wrote the list.... until we watched the the first season of Planet Weird's documentary-series, Hellier, and realized that the show correlated with every last word on that list. It was too freaky to be a coincidence. There's a word for that, but we can't think of it. Hmmm..... syntax? No that's not it. Sophism? No, No, not that either. Somnambulism? That's not right. Ah, whatever, we're sure it'll come to us. Anyway, this week we hunted down some Hobgoblin Legendary Ruby Beer from Wychwood Brewery, and discussed Hellier Season 1. ---------------------------------------------------- WATCH ALL 5 EPISODES OF HELLIER ON YOUTUBE, VIMEO, OR AT HELLIER.TV ---------------------------------------------------- SHOW WE DISCUSSED - HELLIER Follow us! Episode 34 sees the boys pick out a selection of beers they've never had from some of the UK's leading supermarkets; the 'Perfect Pilsner' from Bad Co. brewed exclusively for Asda, Waitrose's 'Duchy Organic' IPA from Wychwood Brewery and the 'Hyde & Wylde Oatmeal Stout' from Marston's Brewery brewed exclusively for Sainsbury's. We also pick further unanswered questions out from our previous Q&A session from the Cannonball Run, and Mark has a shocking revelation.... Enjoy!
After breakfast, our day started at the local Wetherspoon's, Samuel Lloyd named after the founder of the local steel works which dominated the town, until Thatcher destroyed the British steel industry in the 80s. The usual issue with under staffing at Wetherspoon’s was exacerbated when the duty manager passed out and an ambulance was called. Worth the wait was the selection of beers from the Grainstore Brewery. www.grainstorebrewery.com/drink/ They stocked GB Best, Rutland Panther, a dark mild and Gold, their light golden summer ale. After the game we met in the Chequered Flag, part of the Greene King Hungry Horse chain. All the cask beer was off, so went for the post-modern classic BrewDog Punk IPA, www.brewdog.com/beer/headliners/punk-ipa whilst dissecting our match and half watching the Liverpool-Brighton game. Train home to Dunstable and off to the Wheatsheaf to see a band. The Lash are a local band that have been going for some years and in various formats and never fail to impress. https://my.lemonrock.com/thelash No cask ale again in the Wheaty, so had to resort to bottled Hobgoblin, the legendary ruby beer from the Wychwood Brewery. www.wychwood.co.uk/beers/ A good time was had by all. On to the Dunstable Derby, an FA Cup replay and more league action.
This episode things are getting frightfully festive as we dust the dried blood off last year’s Santa suit, polish our kitchen knives and saddle up for an evening of yuletide retribution. Top of our wishlist this year is Lewis Jackson’s utterly insane addition to the holiday horror subgenre: Christmas Evil (AKA You Better Watch Out). Festive Robin Hood of Manhattan or crazed, Santa-obsessed psychopath? We put Brandon Maggart’s fantastic performance under close scrutiny and raise a glass (or two) to this deliciously trashy and wacky 42nd Street classic. To that end, this episode we’re drinking Brew Dog’s Santa Paws, a Sierra Nevada porter, Bateman’s Rosey Nosey, Black Sheep’s Blitzen ale, Adnam’s Winter Stout and the Wychwood Brewery’s Bah Humbug. Bah Humbug indeed! Merry Christmas everyone!
Forks and bottles up… it’s time for another round of Chicken and Beer. Jas and Nish are back to once again give you their unique take on some of the latest sports stories doing the rounds over a hot plate of chicken and some cold brews. Jens Huiber of Sport Radio 360 is the first guest up in this episode and he joins the guys to have a look back at what’s been a hell of a year for Andy Murray. Earlier this month, he finally made it to number one in the men’s rankings for the first time in his career. How does this compare to his other achievements this season—including being the first man to retain his Tennis singles gold in the Olympics and winning another Wimbledon title? Are we looking at an era of Andy Murray now? Jens fills the boys in. Also earlier this month, it was the 30th anniversary of Sir Alex Ferguson taking up the post as manager of Man Utd… and the rest is history! Jas and Nish pay tribute to arguably the greatest ever Football club manager with a look back at some of the most famous bits of his tenure—including signing Eric Cantona, kicking a boot at David Beckham and stopping the old skool drinking culture. And our favourite boxing dude David Payne is back to take a look at the upcoming bout between Anthony Joshua and Eric Molina. We were all hoping this would be Joshua v Klitschko, but it wasn’t to be! David fills the guys in on why he thinks that didn’t happen and what he thinks will be Joshua’s next move. Chicken wise, ‘Asia’ was thrown on the Chicken Dice in the last episode, so Nish has cooked up some Thai Green Chicken Curry. To go with it, the boys had some Dunkel Fester from the Wychwood Brewery and Shipyard Brewing Co. American IPA.
