Im britischen Guardian ist ein sehr langer Artikel über Valery Saluschny, den ehemaligen ukrainischen Oberbefehlshaber und heutigen Botschafter in London, und seine Ambitionen auf das Präsidentenamt erschienen. Erleben wir den Beginn des Machtkampfes um Selenskys Nachfolge?Ein Kommentar von Thomas Röper.In der Ukraine ist es seit 2022 ein Thema, dass der damalige ukrainische Oberbefehlshaber Valery Saluschny in der Ukraine höhere Beliebtheitswerte erzielt als Selensky. Und seit diese Tatsache und die Misserfolge an der Front zu einem offenen Konflikt zwischen Selensky und Saluschny geführt haben, spekuliert man in der Ukraine, ob Saluschny Selenskys Nachfolger wird und ob er Selensky vielleicht sogar stürzen könnte.Das Ergebnis war seine Entlassung als Oberbefehlshaber der ukrainischen Streitkräfte durch Selensky und seine “Abschiebung” aus der Ukraine auf den Posten des ukrainischen Botschafters in London, um ihn aus der ukrainischen Innenpolitik zu entfernen.Allerdings dürfte die Entscheidung, ihn nach London zu schicken, nicht ganz freiwillig, sondern auf britischen Druck erfolgt sein, denn die Briten haben so direkten Zugang zu Saluschny und damit direkten Einfluss auf den kommenden Kampf um das Präsidentenamt. Selensky hätte ihn wahrscheinlich lieber als Botschafter in für die Ukraine unwichtige Länder wie Kamerun, Vietnam oder Chile abgeschoben, wo Saluschny komplett von der Bildfläche verschwunden wäre.Dass die Entscheidung, wer nächster ukrainischer Präsident wird, nicht in der Ukraine getroffen wird, ist jedem Kenner der Ukraine, klar. Schon beim Maidan waren es nicht die Ukrainer, die entschieden haben, wer nach dem Maidan die Macht übernimmt. Über diese Frage tobte damals ein Machtkampf zwischen der EU und den USA, den die USA für sich entschieden haben. Die EU wollte Klitschko, die USA wollten Jazenjuk als Regierungschef nach dem Maidan, und während dieses Streits kam es zu dem berühmten „Fuck-the-EU“ von Victoria Nuland, die die Wünsche der EU, Klitschko an die Macht zu bringen, mit diesen freundlichen Worten kommentierte.Auch heute sind es nicht die Ukrainer, die entscheiden, wer nach Selensky in dem Land an die Macht kommt. Diese Entscheidung wird der Westen treffen, wobei es denkbar ist, dass die EU, die USA und Großbritannien dabei auf verschiedene Kandidaten setzen und dass es hinter den Kulissen wieder zu einem Machtkampf kommt.Ein Name, der auf der Liste der Favoriten ganz oben steht, ist Valery Saluschny.Jetzt könnte es in dieser Sache Bewegung geben, denn im britischen Guardian wurden Saluschny und die Machtkämpfe in Kiew in einem langen Artikel thematisiert, was bisher meines Wissens nicht passiert ist.
