The words “continued to grow and to gain strength in the Spirit” caught my attention today. And I thought about what it meant for John as a child to not only grow up as a person but to gain strength in the Spirit. Casting down imaginations (not accepting the devils thoughts, suggestions, visions) is a spiritual weapon that you must use to be victorious over the enemy. You must learn to actively fight to maintain God's vision for you. You must only accept imaginations (thoughts) that line up with the Word of God. Fight for the field of your imagination. Don't give the devil one inch, to sow his imaginations. Resist him at all times and he will flee. James 4:7 says “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Many have struggles resisting the devil and casting down his imaginations, because they are too fleshly. Tap in!!

Folks often see someone prospering according to the Word, whether in his health, his finances, his family, and so forth, and they get the mistaken impression that God must have given that person more faith.
