Ciao a tutti! Coming to you on Halloween, something slightly spooky and (reasonably) unpolitical... my predictions for post-COVID travel. Like everyone else, I'm itching to travel again and wonder about what it will be like. I've done the research and spoken with fellow travel lovers to gather a handful of predictions for what I think travel will be like once the pandemic subsides. From continued mask wearing, lines and easy breezy cancellations, listen to all of the knowledge that I've compiled to give you my best predictions.

Ciao a tutti! Though I love talking about teaching English abroad, the core of what I love is solo travel. Traveling alone forces you to get comfortable with the uncomfortable and discover new places with endless opportunities. For as much research as I did about solo travel before my first time teaching English abroad, there was very little information that "hyped me up". Of course, there are endless blog posts about how to prepare and what to do, but it makes the whole experience seem heavy and stressful. Now, after numerous solo travel trips abroad and in America, I've come to realize what amazing benefits come from traveling alone but that nobody talks about! I'm here to share the positive extra perks that come with choosing to travel solo or teach English abroad that you might not expect. Ciao a tutti! Andiamo a Modica! Or in English... Let's go to Modica! Modica is one of my favorite towns in Sicily to visit every year. Known for it's chocolate, culture and beauty, you have to make time for a stop here even if it's only for one day. Although we can't travel right now, let's start daydreaming and planning our future trips to stay positive and remember all that will be good once we make it through. Ciao a tutti! This week on June 8th marked the 2 year anniversary of Anthony Bourdain's passing. Bourdain is my muse, and is a huge source of inspiration for me. What he did for humanity in his highlighting of beauty and diversity in every corner of the world brought the parts unknown into homes and inspired wanderlust for many. In the times that the world finds itself in today with the Black Lives Matter movement and discussions of racial injustice, I want to highlight some of the best messages that Anthony Bourdain left behind that can teach us how to accept one another and stay energized in the fight for true equality and justice for all.

My time teaching English in Sicily left me with many new passions, but one that I didn't expect - Sicilian food. I cooked with little nonna's, professional chefs, friends and family, and it left me with so many stories and ideas that I just need to share. To me, food is about sharing culture and stories about a place without being there. In this episode, I'll teach you the true basics of Italian cooking, what to look for a menu, and a few simple ways to help judge a new Italian restaurant.
