We don't always act on the things that pique our interest. But sometimes, the things we're curious about could actually change our life in ways we didn't expect. For Zarla Antonio, that's exactly what happened. What started as a curiosity towards event styling eventually became her career. And because of her curiosity, it became her motivation to become even better at it. Now, she's known both locally and internationally as one of the most creative event stylists. Advocacies can be likened to a rainbow - a spectrum of colors that are inseparable. Each advocacy may have its own goals but they impact one another. Yet their progress only happens when one champions them. Justin Bionat is not just fighting for himself as he continues to champion the LGBT community; he is also fighting for those who are unable to stand up for themselves. At the end of the day, social justice is everything to him. It's time to add more color to your Wednesday morning today with great coffee paired with a conversation full of rainbows. As mundane and fleeting lectures can sometimes be, a little creativity can go a long way. With creativity, we can learn things in a deeper and more meaningful way. Prof. Alfredo Diaz believes that anywhere can be a stage, a platform, and an avenue for our creativity - even teaching. For him, everything we do is a performance. All it takes is our imagination and for us to take the stage. Let's fill your Wednesday morning again with great coffee and a good dose of creativity as we talk about creative teaching. We all see beauty in different ways. For some, it can be a person; for others, an act. But what does it really mean to be beautiful? For Miss Universe Iloilo 2022 Vanessa Caro, beauty is all about being authentic and being yourself. It's no longer about your looks or what you wear; it's about who you are and what you stand for. It's about you being you. Let's fill your coffee mugs with your favorite blends and talk about authentic beauty this Wednesday morning. We've all had those eureka moments. Seemingly random but equally life-changing. Be it a new career path, a new business, or even a new hobby, it all starts with an idea. An idea that needs to be put into action. For Paul Gonzaga, the act of writing these ideas down is already taking action. By putting the idea into words, we bring it to our consciousness. Only then are our ideas given the breath of life. Let's warm up your Wednesday morning again with a cup of coffee and a good dose of great conversations about thriving ideas. All of us have experienced some form of pain throughout our lives. May it be an injured body or a broken heart, pain is something we can all relate with. But rarely do we go through the conscious process of healing from our pain. As they say, pain demands to be felt. But so does healing. For Atho De La Cruz, he devoted his life to helping others heal, acknowledge the pain, and find balance within themselves. With his vast knowledge in spiritual healing, he guides others to better manage the pain to achieve health and wellness. It's time to fill your Wednesday morning again with good coffee and great conversations as we talk about achieving health and wellness in the authentic Filipino way. As we live our lives, we discover more about ourselves that we never expected. We develop multiple passions and have more dreams. Over time, we will eventually find our true selves. And what can help us get there is having as many diverse experiences as we can. It is through experience that we can really say we went on our journey of self-discovery. For Atty. Joe Espinosa III, he exposed himself to different people, hobbies, passions, and advocacies which led him to become the holistic and well-rounded person he is today. Through his diverse experiences, he was able to define and discover who really is. It's Wednesday again and it's time to fill your morning cup with great conversations as we talk about self-discovery. Our circumstances in life can sometimes make achieving our dreams seem beyond what we can reach. But our dreams won't wait for us. Successful people are those who use these difficulties as their fuel in achieving their dreams. And sometimes, these difficulties in life can actually be what molds us into becoming better versions of ourselves. For Ken Lerona, he didn't let his personal circumstances get in the way of his dreams. He grabbed every opportunity he could get despite the challenges he faced in his earlier years. Through sheer grit and determination, he paved his own path to success and became the accomplished marketer he is today. Let's fill your Wednesday again with inspiration as we talk about grit, determination, and what it takes to be successful. Success takes time, and can only be achieved with hard work. Successful people are the ones who despite humble beginnings, persisted with grit, believed in their vision, and strived to have a better life. The yardstick of success varies from person to person but for one to be truly successful, the first and most important thing to do is to have vision. Dr. Ferj Biron had clear visions not just for himself but for people around him. He has dedicated his life into public service and bears the torch to others' road to success. Through education and hard work, he was able to turn his vision into a beacon of hope. It's Wednesday, let us fill your morning cup with inspiration as we talk about pursuing a vision, helping others, and achieving success through hard work. The tourism industry has taken a huge hit since COVID-19 came about. With people locking up, tourist spots had to close down. But as we learn here today, not all businesses in tourism shut down - in fact, some of them were able to draw in more people. In the heart of Janiuay is Damires Hills, a pristine nature paradise calling out to the lockdown-weary people. All thanks to Paolo Tirador’s management of the family business, the inland resort is not just surviving the pandemic - it’s thriving. We’re down to our last two Wednesdays but the quality just keeps going. Paolo’s management of Damires Hills has brought new life to the inland resort. For businesses that needed people to go out, the population staying in would spell the end. But Paolo has shown us that with the right business decisions, even the most difficult of situations can be turned around. Join us on this fantastic Wednesday as we talk about adjusting to the times, making the most out of the worst of situations, and reconnecting with our passions. The coffee’s all but out so have a refill on Spotify, Google Podcasts, Apple Podcasts, and where you get your cups of podcast goodness. The legal profession is seen by the average Filipino as an above-average career path. With so much to consider for the future, is your future as a lawyer really worth considering? If you’re considering the title of “attorney”, this may be the podcast for you. The things you’ll need as a lawyer are the same things you’ll need as a law student: dedication to a purpose, focus on a goal, and coffee. Join us for another Wednesday and another cup of coffee where we talk about law and life. Atty. Jose Mari Benjamin Francisco Tirol’s experiences as a lawyer for more than two decades puts him in a good place to talk about lawyering. Even then, he can still recall his own first days as a wide-eyed law student at the University of San Agustin College of Law. Better known today as Dean Tirol, he’s spent the last several years guiding the same people through the same halls. In his youth, he made several last stands against professors, exams, and coffee addiction. He’s since earned the respect of his mentors and passed the Bar - but we have him here today because he never got around to beating coffee. You can catch a refill of this episode on Spotify, Google Podcasts, Apple Podcasts, and where you get your cups of podcast goodness. We only get one shot at life, why not live it true to ourselves? As more people are starting their journeys of self-discovery and self-identity, it’s easy to get lost along the way and get muted by the negativity. They live their lives in silence, preferring the quiet to the disagreements. It takes a lot of courage to speak, even much more so to sing. We’re back with another one of your favorite Wednesday podcasts. This time, we have Brendan Apuan from local Ilonggo band: Queens, telling us stories at the business end of a coffee mug. For musicians like Brendan, the stage is part of the world and their song is part of who they are. When it’s their turn to play, you’d best be listening. This is an opportunity to see the artist and listen to the art. Hear what’s behind their song of finding themself in the music they write, sing, and play for all the world to see. This episode is also available on podcasts at Spotify, Google Podcasts, Apple Podcasts, and other platforms. This episode is presented by Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo and produced by Prometheus Productions. Time to wake up and smell the coffee.
We’re all looking for somewhere we can belong. A place where we can be celebrated and welcomed for who we are. Sometimes “success” is simply having your identity cherished by others like you. In the world of video games, many individuals find it hard to embrace themselves when human connection is just pixels on a screen. Most gamers hang up their sticks and keebs, alone and isolated. Finding your own online “clan” is difficult enough, all the more so when it comes to finding your real world family. Justin Banusing wanted to do something about that. He saw the multitudes of individuals strewn out across cyberspace, alienated by norms and traditions, divided by gaming platforms and video game preferences -- and he drew them all together. To him and many others, it isn’t just a game. It’s a community. It’s Wednesday! And it’s all about that coffee. Another shot of Coffeenated is here and now with gamer and esports pioneer Justin Banusing telling you about gaming as a way of life - and living it with people who share the same passions. This episode is also available on podcasts at Spotify, Google Podcasts, Apple Podcasts, and other platforms. This episode is presented by Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo and produced by Prometheus Productions. Time to wake up and smell the coffee.
In journalism, everything has to be on time. News that comes late isn’t “news”. It’s “olds”. Bad puns aside, this next episode is all about time - or rather, the right timing - and one journalist in particular. If you’d ask our Editor-in-Chief about the significant moments in his life, he’s bound to talk about the day he graduated from UPV -- which is still about a few months from now, about 15 years behind his batchmates. But if there’s something to learn from Francis about time, it’s this: everything that needs to happen will happen at the right time. Oh, hey! It’s Wednesday! You know what that means - time for another shot of Coffeenated to get you going. You can also gulp down this same episode in a podcast on Spotify, Google Podcasts, Apple Podcasts, and many more. This episode is presented by Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo and produced by Prometheus Productions. Time to wake up and smell the coffee. #CoffeenatedbyDG
A good life very rarely happens by design. Most of the time, success is just people finding things along the way and making the most out of it. Hera’s been around, and she’s been searching for the keys to the good life in many parts of the world through many languages and cultures. In fact, she’s put so much of herself into the pursuit of happiness that it almost seemed lost at one point. But all that changed when she started trusting a grander scheme of things. It’s Wednesday, share a mug with us as we talk about serendipity, happiness, and finding the right path. Time to wake up and smell the coffee. Prometheus Productions was here. A big thanks goes to Courtyard by Marriott for presenting another episode of Coffeenated.
People look at success but don’t see sleeplessness and heartache that come before it. Every dream has its challenges. Life has it that achieving these dreams means overcoming those challenges along the way. And most of the time, the challenge itself is knowing what dream to pursue. Success comes after overcoming these challenges and it’s knowing what’s worth going after. That’s what Mikee Canaman believes. That’s how she was able to follow her dreams after the pandemic took her job. Listen to her stories about the ups and downs of chance, finding a career worth dedicating one’s life to, and finding meaning in the journey, not the destination. The audio podcast for this episode and other episodes is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and anywhere else you get your podcasts.
